Do I seriously need a reason for disliking the skimpy outfits?
In other words you have no reason to dislike it
On other words, I personally think this game does NOT need more female skimpy/sexualized outfits & I do not have to justify the personal dislike to you, or anyone else. That good enough?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Exactly, I think that it is enough that every fifth member of KDF is topless Orion prostitute . Now multiply on the Starfleet side. The game is played by a lot of horny teenagers .
That's a bit rude, I'm not a teenager nor am I horny thanks.
Be nice to have a conversation with less of the insults, there are people in the outside world who dress in what is being thrown around as "sexist/skimpy/sexualised" outfits. My body, my rules thanks!
So why do you react when you're not a horny teenager ?
And i have to disagree with you. In the game , you are a part of military organisation - we are members of Starfleet, Klingon Forces or Republic Navy. If we were members of the Maquis, Khan's group, Quark Enterprises or Orion syndicate , so good , walk with tattooed-face and dressed like a prostitute or in a torn rags . But, in our organizations, you're going to go in an uniform or armor.
Still, in the game are not canon uniforms like ENT m.a.c.o. or Nemesis romulan's, and some people want these strange outfits.
actually canonally klingon women in the kdf tend to show off their fine bosoms. likely cause no one dumb enough to tell a klingon woman what to do with her body... actually as far as canon goes only romualans don't.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.

phasers melt/vaporize rock and metal no amount no cloth is gonna protect you from that you'ld need enegry shield... which as it happens we all wear even in the bikinis. hell enen the actually armour we wear shouldn't be able to protect us if our shields go down.

@mayito2009: I had some fun with this in my Foundry mission "Bait and Switch". There's a female Orion Starfleet Intelligence operative who complains she's constantly afraid she's going to have a wardrobe malfunction and that there's nowhere to hide a gun.
@nightken: Body armor isn't just worn to protect against bullets, it also protects against shrapnel (that's why it's called a FLAK vest).

@nightken: It is physically impossible for armor to provide total protection and still be usable. However, proper armor WILL often turn what would have been a mortal wound into something survivable. For example, if you're shot while wearing a bulletproof vest, you'll probably break a couple ribs. But as I said in a CPR class recently, "Ribs heal; dead doesn't."
The mere fact that armor is now available shows that it IS sufficiently effective for field use. They probably made it out of those indestructible TNG packing crates.

And before dismissing the standard cloth uniform as useless, let me point out it can help prevent or reduce rates and severity of certain annoyances that, while not that big a deal in the 25th century, would still unnecessarily take your field medic's time and temporarily reduce your operational effectiveness, such as: sunburn, frostbite, insect bites, scratches from scraping close by rocks and branches, spills of some lesser acids, etc. Most of these would not constitute a medical emergency except frostbite (the others depending on circumstance), but all of these are reasons I see for uniforms covering most skin aside from head and hands. If you want to ruin your vacation getting stuck in the infirmary when you forget your sunblock and cook, that's your problem. When you do it in a military situation, that's your entire unit's problem.

going with the bullet vest thing, you take a 9 mm round from a pistols your right. you take a .50 caliber round from Anti-materiel rifle your chances of living though are a good deal less sure. phasers and other energy weapons are a lot closer to the latter

Not based on the frankly terrible damage they do in-game. Either body armor has vastly improved, or all our weapons are stuck on heavy stun.

Also, you are forgetting, the uniform is Mirror Starfleet, not the Starfleet you are talking of, my main Fed is in my mind a mirror version, so wears mirror related gear. Instead of having a female look like a female, sexualized or not, some people would rather have a sexually ambiguous looking stick?
Apparently, quite sad, I want to be able to dress how I would if my fictional world were a reality, games are a way of escaping the real world.
The most infamous example being mirror Hoshi Sato, she freakin became empress.
My mirror uniform is usually the Oddy excursion jacket with the terran badge, enterprise mirror belt and all good things pants and boots for all crew regardless of gender

I'm a lead from the front type of character, always in the thick of the fighting, any terran crew would respect that.
My character does not abuse his rank, instead promotions are earned through merit not assassination

@nightken: No, a police vest won't stop a .50 cal, but then police don't typically get attacked with .50 cals, now do they? Military-grade body armor includes ceramic trauma plates to deal with high-caliber weapons. And they DO work.
Same deal here: the armor is designed to fend off the weapons it's most likely to face.

I was never under the impression that a flight suit or BDU's make a woman "sexually ambiguous." I don't think, for instance, that it would make sense to speak ill of Sally Ride because she wore a NASA flight suit.

If you're referring to microbes, in addition to immunization seeming to be much more effective in the 25th century, one aspect of cross-species disease transmission in the Trek universe (which stands in great contrast to, say, James White's Sector General series, that takes the stance of no cross-species infections) may well be that because the species share such a close common heritage, that not only is cross-infection possible, but so is cross-defense. That is, because diseases are forced into convergent evolution across worlds in order to infect hosts that are SO similar to each other thanks to Preserver/Progenitor interference as to almost be members of the same genus, they may be vulnerable to the same kinds of defenses in the host that were evolved to handle germs on their own world.
Now are there still going to be incidents sometimes with endemic diseases in one population causing big problems elsewhere? I would expect that in the 22nd century in particular, that was a problem, and some--to a lesser extent--in the 23rd. But by the time we get to the "smaller Galaxy" of the 24th-25th century, while you may still have pandemic potential like we get with the flu and a few other things, there are likely IMO to be fewer cases as drastic as (for example) smallpox in the Americas or syphilis in the Old World. And that part is even *without* taking into account any drastic technological advances.

The latest generation of body armour can stop 7.62mm rounds without too much harm to the wearer, even in the 25th century, the same logic should apply

Uh... once, maybe, but a burst? nuh-uh. Each hit cracks the plate, guess what happens if a round hits one of those cracks?

I can't believe what i'm seeing here. It is totally natural for a teenager to like the way girls look and wonder about the magical differences we have. Human reproduction causes the young to be "interested in each other". All ages of men continue to love watching the female form ... puts a smile on your face ..happy thoughts ... and happieness is the reason we were created. Becauase you play this MMO and have no life or a love life dosen't mean you can intellectualize your situation and play it out here. In the 25th century there can be no censorship .... and if no censorship .... the natural tendecies of every species will prevail ...and the most powerful emotion is self survival and survival is reproduction and with reproduction comes sexuality ...... so don't let some old, cranky, poster make you feel like you have to justify the reason why you like to look at skimpy clad girls.

Don't let the ghost of Gene Roddenberry hear you call Starfleet a military organization! But seriously.... no we're not... Military don't give you 42 different outfitst to choose from, dont let you command your ship in your club wear, don't let you fly enemy vessels, random species ships, or whatnot, they don't let you hoard a small squadron of starships as your own personal armada, and don't let you pick n choose what weapons/gear you want. You're assigned your standard issue gear, your standard issue uniform, and your given an assignment to a vessel/posting that is not up for debate. This is a game very loosely set in *A* Trek-verse... get over the high and mightly BS
Cryptic has no logical reason to say no to anything given what they've already allowed except one. They don't have enough programmers and time to provide it and they have no intention to change that limit.
Seriously, I paid for the Merc outfit and for my money I can't put it on female BOFFs and thus can't have my crew 'in uniform'. They haven't fixed the bug, they haven't even admitted it exists.
When a game is ran like this, you'll get something only if they already planned to make it anyway. And you best hope it works, because they won't go back and fix it if it doesn't.

Actually they did not too long ago when they cleaned house with lower body outfit pieces. The mercenary outfit from the c-store is now a uniform option, except for the chest gears and arm attachments. This means it's available for bridge officers as well. They also opened up a lot of outfit pieces for uniforms that were only off duty before, like the Khan pants and boots, and opened up a few uniform pieces for off duty as well as parts of the formal wear. So we do have a lot more options now then we use to.
If peeps get annoyed over how others dress their virtual pixel space Barbie dolls in a video game perhaps they have played too much and should hit town for a beer or at least switch on the TV. Hard to believe for some but there they will see hot-pants as well.
Hot-pants EVERYWHERE!!!!!!
The new outfit is cool and hot and all but hardly anything new or special.
If we want discuss the controversy over such stuff we really need to swing the discussion back to free underboobs again…

We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!
