I would like to see this mirror uniform added to the tailor! Does anyone think that we will get to see this as a player costume?
Comments
Pretty sure the Klingon outfit is just the rep armor visual, if Tribble's anything to go by. And yes, it is killer
Of course I meant the other one! I need an up to date mirror uniform
Hrm, I feel like, while we might eventually get something like the belt, I don't think we'll get the sleeveless uniform tops that we see them sporting there.
And frankly, that shouldn't be that big of a deal.
I don't see anything wrong with the various factions having uniform options utterly unique to them, even unplayable NPC ones. If anything, I feel like it adds something to them in a way.
In any case, you'll still be able to ape enough of the look of these guys with the various unbuttoned versions of the old Antares, Sierra, and Jupiter uniforms (which is technically what these new sleeveless things are).
Just don't be too despondent about us Players never getting those specific uniform versions.
Though not for my Science captain, his doffs will forever wear the TOS version while they wield their type 1-3 phasers
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT!
normal text = me speaking as fellow formite
colored text = mod mode
I want this even more than before now! Also good to see the guys aren't overlooked and get to show off that chest hair!

Why? It's canon from TOS on that mirror Terran females wear skimpy uniforms.
Do I seriously need a reason for disliking the skimpy outfits?

Naw, that's too easy, it'll be Lobi.
We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!
I'll be fine with that as long as they give us some T6 mirror ships and/or make the existing mirror ships upgradeable to T5-U.
In other words you have no reason to dislike it
On other words, I personally think this game does NOT need more female skimpy/sexualized outfits & I do not have to justify the personal dislike to you, or anyone else. That good enough?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm not Jan, so I'm obviously just speaking for myself, and I'm not opposed to NPCs getting thematically appropriate uniforms that happen to be skimpy (which is the case with the Terran Empire, based on Mirror, Mirror), but I have a hard time putting objectifying uniforms on BOffs who are supposed to be professional members of a military and exploratory force. I am a man, but that doesn't mean I need to treat the women under my command like objects. And since we're not talking about real women, that shouldn't be taken as an indictment of players who choose differently; it just spoils my immersion to do so.
People focus on the "hotness" of Terran female uniforms and forget the context that the female servicemembers in the Imperial Starfleet were expected to sexually service their male crewmates. I believe it was said (maybe in "Mirror Mirror", maybe in "In a Mirror, Darkly") that female personnel actually fought over the post of "captain's woman", i.e. the commanding officer's personal f*cktoy, because it meant comparatively better treatment. That and casual '60s sexism on the part of the TOS producers is the only risible excuse for the Terran Empire's idea of a uniform.
We do not need this.

Anyways, whatever floats people's boats, as long as I don't have to wear the crappy skimpy outfits, I'll just... point and laugh at my screen whenever I see full-barbie squads, just like I always did it. /snark

I feel the same about the TOS uniforms. That and for all the supposed "advancements" of women, they are there in TOS as sex objects: play space secretary (until the later movies where Uhura is allowed to actually play an intelligent role), play space nurse (because it would be UNTHINKABLE to be a doctor), it was said onscreen that a woman could not captain a starship, and of course the last TOS-approved roles for women are "helpless damsel in distress" and "in Kirk's bed."
That said, @jodarkrider, I would still highly recommend some of the TOS novels, because many were written after women gained greater rights and you see characters like Uhura and Chapel treated far more seriously.
Sadly, though...one of the flaws I do acknowledge in JJTrek is that it is a MAJOR setback in the depiction of women. They even ruined the dignified, intelligent Uhura we finally got in the later TOS movies, and replaced her with a...well, I can't even find appropriate words for it.
Even the off-duty clothing selections for females in game are lamentable. There are very few modest, feminine costumes short of robes. It would be nice to at least have some feminine options that are not one of the two extremes ("sex sells" vs. literally, clergy robes), that are tastefully pretty. Not "sordid fantasy material."

@gulberat - 100% agree.
Anyways, let's move on, the crowds are getting unnecessarily riled up.

This...plus the the whole thing happened in the Mirror Universe may be true in ENT and TOS.....but I don't remember them ever dressing skimpy in DS9...not even Leeta dressed skimpy.
