It looks as if the male uniforms are also a bit... skimpy, at least.

I hope so because it looks goofy. Like someone scratched a pencil over a GI Joe

I'm not going to get involved in the should/should not have the MU uniforms, but since the thread has veered into talking about diffrent uniforms. ..It would be nice for female characters to have something between the mini and pants. Say a knee length skirt. I want my female officers to be able to look profesional yet feminine in something other than pants, and running around planets in the elements with minis just doesn't seem realistic to me. Now if you want them, that's cool. I'm only speaking for myself
I heard the academy skirt is like that. I don't have the academy uniforms though, so I can't tell...
The Talaxian outfits also contain a few longer skirts, including skirts without bare legs. I am not much a fan of them, however. Not because of the length or the clothed legs, but I just don't like the materials and color options with them.

The Academy skirt is still kinda short...just like most ones except the Talaxian ones and maybe the one Romulan one. (I say maybe because while it is longer, does have the upward angling side)

The reasons everything these days is aimed at teenagers are that they have the most time on their hands and are generally quite prone to spending their parents money, something to do with spending someone else's money makes it easier to ignore costs.
Also, when you look at the stereotypes (which to some degree are based in fact) women tend to be less impulsive with money and generally have less interest in videogames although I think this is something of a self fulfilling prophecy.
The self-fulfilling prophecy thing is it. When things are aggressively marketed to a single demographic AND made strongly inhospitable to those outside of that demographic, why would those on the outside want to expend the effort to get in?
Which is exactly my point, it's already skewed too far in one direction so people who don't fit the demographic don't buy things because there's nothing available they enjoy, thus the industry continues to create the same stuff and less alternative stuff. I love RTS games for example but all I'm finding lately are FPS and MMOs, the only new RTS I can see is Ashes of the Singularity but that's still at least a year away.
[Qoute]Impulsivity with money, in contrast, can very much go both ways. I've heard of that in both men and women.[/quote]
I agree with this statement myself but the evidence shows that major game producers don't, or don't want to risk losing money to test it.

Unfortunately the only one like that I've seen is a couple variants of the Talaxian skirt, so you'll have to pay for that option. People may make fun of the Talaxians but they did get some VERY nice choices for the ladies. Definitely worth a look next time you're in the tailor.
Otherwise for non-mini-skirt, you'll be choosing a "robe" bottom, which includes either the free options, or the Vedek robe bottom. Pretty sure the Academy skirt was a really short miniskirt. I don't remember for sure but I remember deciding it was not an option for my captains or BOFFs.

Yeah, the academy skirt is pretty short too...not much longer at all than any of the other options.

Yeah, the Talaxian skirts are really nice. I want more like that.
Yeah, the academy skirt is pretty short too...not much longer at all than any of the other options.
They are about double the length of the TOS Mini, the TOS skirts are the only true miniskirts, the others are just short skirts. What some might be looking for is a knee-length skirt, but a short skirt can and does still look professional, so long as the whole outfit compliments each other.
It also depends on the length of your legs, I could go into many technicalities of skirts if you wish! If STO was going down the route of true skimpy clothing, we'd see microskirts, which we don't see. We only have 2 miniskirts and a variety of short skirts, some long skirt options with zen or robe choices. Romulans only get 1 miniskirt and KDF don't get any, just the Lobi skirt which is just a short skirt.
Some people aren't comfortable in short skirts, that's fine, but they are still worn by professional people in the real world and no one questions it. Yes, you also get the knee-length skirts and the long skirts, but don't dismiss the short skirt as unprofessional! Miniskirts, sure, they aren't professional, but my main Fed character isn't supposed to be professional, nor is her crew!
In comparison to many other games, STO doesn't have anything overly sexual, nothing, even the Orions and bikinis are tame in comparison. Well, bikinis you get to see if you go to a beach or summer place and Cryptic did make an effort to limit swimwear to Risa, although there is a bug people exploit, but they made an effort to keep it somewhat limited.
Maybe since people except professional trolls get banned left and right?

Yea, academy skirt.
It also seems an “official” part of the oddi uniform code. Your Fleet Tailor at star base wears it if you want to look it up.

Romulans have a bias-cut skirt option in the "Romulan civilian" uniform sets. It's about mid-calf length at its longest point, a little abve the knee on the other side.

That's actually how the chest hair came out with swimwear and Aloha shirts during this year's Risa summer event. People filed a bug report saying things like it looked like just a patch of dirt, but it seems that nothing has been done to make it look better.

It's the graphics settings. Looked like TRIBBLE on my machine at first, but when I turned it up, viola, looked right.
So if I understand this correctly .. the new Dawn mirror uniform will not be related to us to use?
Hey Liz,
You will get the battle armor the Klingon is wearing on the promo-pic for 3 piece purchase of the new ground set from new reputation system
The source of the stuff the Bajoran woman is wearing is currently unknown. My best bet is Z-Store, Lobi or if they bring it hard on us as limited time reward on the new revamped missions which we have to play 500 times in 2 days.
Never saw the promo-pic entirely. Looks like hot-pants are going to be standard uniform compatible.
YEAY!
And there we were discussing skirt lengths and underboobs…

Do I seriously need a reason for disliking the skimpy outfits?
In other words you have no reason to dislike it
On other words, I personally think this game does NOT need more female skimpy/sexualized outfits & I do not have to justify the personal dislike to you, or anyone else. That good enough?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Exactly, I think that it is enough that every fifth member of KDF is topless Orion prostitute . Now multiply on the Starfleet side. The game is played by a lot of horny teenagers .

That's a bit rude, I'm not a teenager nor am I horny thanks.
Be nice to have a conversation with less of the insults, there are people in the outside world who dress in what is being thrown around as "sexist/skimpy/sexualised" outfits. My body, my rules thanks!
I love that outfit, I really like an update on the mirror universe outfit. I really hope it will be released. I was wondering because there are screenshots of in-game characters wearing something similar looking fantastic (Posted in the beginning). but I guess that is only NPCS.
I personally would like that full mirror universe set with the weapons.. I am not to keep about that reputation suit.. I don't like the thing armour at the chest.

So why do you react when you're not a horny teenager ?
And i have to disagree with you. In the game , you are a part of military organisation - we are members of Starfleet, Klingon Forces or Republic Navy. If we were members of the Maquis, Khan's group, Quark Enterprises or Orion syndicate , so good , walk with tattooed-face and dressed like a prostitute or in a torn rags . But, in our organizations, you're going to go in an uniform or armor.
Still, in the game are not canon uniforms like ENT m.a.c.o. or Nemesis romulan's, and some people want these strange outfits.

We don't know for sure yet. This thread was a request to make it available to us if Cryptic wasn't already planning on it.

I want another pair of shorts in the game, the summer ones are okay and the changes to the tailor improved them, but I want these ones!
