If general order of things is followed they are likely 3000 zen. (2000z for lvl 40, 2500z for level 50 so 3000z for lvl 60)
That's what I'm guessing as well. However even after they released the fleet ship mini-tier costs on the high end ships did not increase. 2500 may be that maximum price point for an end-game ship that even with a T6 upgrade cryptic can't go much over. If they're feeling very conservative they may not even try to (but they probably will.)

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
I have a suggestion (it may have already been made, but here it is anyway): For those of us who have bought a 3-pack of ships (Oddy, Bortasqu', Vesta, Andorian, etc), could there be a way for us to get the T5-U version of all of the ships in the pack at a reduced rate?
Any word on the cost of a base T6 ship? Looked but didnt see
>>> THE FOLLOWING IS WILD, UNSUBSTANTIATED SPECULATION <<<
So what will the new T6 Ships cost?
Using the upgrade prices as a guess ($5-10 dollars), lets assume that upgrade cost is 10-25% of the cost for a new T6 ship. I think this is a reasonable valuation.
Upgrade Cost: 500 to 1000 Zen translates to $5-10 dollars (assuming no sale pricing).
New T6 Ship cost: 3500 to 6500 Zen (guestimate) or $35 to $65 (a low of 2500 Z to a high of 10,000 Z which I think is too high)
Why I think the new ship pricing will be Higher.
- Current newer ships are 2500 Zen. T6 ships have significant improvements.
- This pricing has been in effect for over a year
- 10K pricing for a 'full set of all faction variants' for the dyson ship was 10K 'seems' viable.
- Likely a 'set' of ships will have a decent discount.
- Sales of Zen-purchased items, for conversion to EC could be 'higher' <---- wild speculation, but based on my own experiences.
- I would not be surprised to see 1000 lobi ships as well
Hopefully the upgrade costs are more in line with 50% of the new ship costs. Then we'd see the new ships at the 3500 zen level.
Again, this post is entirely my own unsubstantiated speculation. But I'll bet you 1000 quatloos I'm in the ballpark.
I mentioned this recently in another thread about the Commodore rank...
According to the former-guy-in-charge (Dstahl), it was decided from the outset of the game that the "Commodore" rank would not be used.
Their reasoning was that every time a character was shown with that rank, he/she was in command of a Starbase, not a Starship.
He told us this a few times back before the game went F2P and it seems that They are pretty much sticking to that line of thought at this point.
Might I remind everyone of Commodore Matt Decker who also captained a Starship? If memory serves me right Admirals were serving on Starbases [like we don't all have a fleet starbase]. That line of thinking is so outdated for crying out loud it is STAR TREK copyrighted by CBS.
Since Starship Traits can be slotted, they can be used while flying any starship you own even if they are not Tier 6.
But only tier 6 ships get starship traits so how is this possible? You need to unlock the trait with a tier 6 ship and then it can be used with any other ship? That's what it sounds like.

From what I understand Starship Traits will be acquirable through other means. More than likely as Lockbox Reward packs.

Note that although only T6 ships will come with a Ship Trait (not T5-U), ships are not the only way to acquire Ship Traits. Ship Traits are not restricted to the ship. It’s something you unlock for you captain and you can use on any ship. There will be other ways to unlock Ship Traits. More details on this soon.
...Starship Traits should be available from sources outside of the T6 ship lines. This is especially important as the Klingons and Romulans are unlikely to have enough ships to actually fill those Starship Trait slots at launch, if prior release patterns are followed.
And yeah, as iconians already said they're bound to show up in a lockbox, though as a friend in-game mentioned it's possible we'll see one in a special Episode akin to the Living Hull trait.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
So basically you are saying that you want us to pay for our ships TWICE!
You charge us for specific ships. We pay, and your brilliant strategy is to force us to pay for the ships AGAIN. I am not saying don't make it cost something. You can make it cost dilithium and that makes it a thing that must be saved for. Are you just a bunch of money hungry pains? Is it that you don't want this game to keep going? Take the scimitar bundle for example. That bundle is $50.00. So you want us to pay more for this ship in addition to the 50.00 we already paid? If this stands, I am done with this game. I have been playing since the closed Beta and I will be done if you want more money in addition to what I paid to get the ship in the first place!
Imagine in other games with expansions that increase level caps, you had to pay for your new shiny gear that you picked up. Except it's not quite as good as the 'best', and you of course, want the 'best'. So pony up. Except wait. You can upgrade that shiny other gear to something...but it's not quite as good as the 'best'. Sorry. My reply to Cryptic is that I feel sorry for myself.
I feel sorry for myself for being gullible enough for you to sucker me out of nearly $1000 over the life of the game, with ships, uniforms, a lifetime sub, a gold sub for years before the LTS, a Legacy Pack, and various other greedies from the C-Store.
Not another dime will come your way from me, and I know you don't care, you already have made more than enough from one person. Hopefully you can spend it on something smart, like, possibly a game without a cash shop in it. Oh, the novelty that would be.
I know with the announcement that they are making about the Tier 6 Ships being part of the new "Delta Rising" Expansion is the latest craze and all. But before everyone is gung ho about this I do have a few questions to ask.
1: Is the Tier 6 going to be something that is updated to our current ships after the release of Delta Rising? Or is this going to mean buy a new ship and also rebuild all others?
2: Does this mean that now all the current Fleet ships that everyone has is considered obselete? Or will there be a reinbursment period where we can turn in our current Tier 5 Fleet Ships get a reinburstment of our zen to use toward Tier 6?
3: Has Perfectworld already considered any of this before coming out with "Delta Rising"?
I know some of these questions might sound a little outlandish but the point I am addressing on forum here is that with the investment with what people have made since the "Legacy of Romulus" and also on "Dyson" season as well that the ships that we have, and the fleet consoles which I know might lead a little from the thread. The point still being here is how much of this is going to cost "Out of Pocket Money" as in Zen in this case? And also how much of this is also going to mean complete rebuilds? Because the concern from players like myself is with the time we put into our ships after rebuilding from Dyson when those consoles came out. How much in Fleet both in the ships and Consoles will be affected from the Tier 6 ship release?
Are you going to commit to even number of t6 ships for each faction or in 6 months from now will we have 10 fed ships and 2 kdf ships?
Because it takes years for you to release a kdf ship it looks like you reduced out ships considerably
I was hoping that they would let us select a free t6 ship while they sell t6.5 ships. I was threatening to run level 60 under equipped if that wasn't the case. I still am.
Don't come complaining if the PvE goes south due to a mothball entering the game. I don't accept complaining when I try hard, And I WILL try hard.
Anyways, I wonder if these cryptic peeps would do use all a favor and atleast sell us the Typhoon and Jupiter class starships. When I heard the t6 news, I dreamed on about there being free 3-pack ships, the Typhoon being one of them as a cruiser/escort (battleship). All these thoughts of fancy totally obliterated when I saw the first pic of what they call a "cruiser". Looks like the cross between a Saber and a Prometheus (both are escorts). Oh well, If they have brains, they would sell us the Typhoon and the Jupiter.
As for me doing level 60 in a t5, I got a Imperial with 8 mk xii tet BAs, Kinetic/specialized-energy-proof armor, field emitter, field generator, plasmonic leachb (atleast that would stay good), 3 tet consoles, SIF generator, 125 power to weps, and the rest of the power to shields. All based on a basic AP/HP focus (no eject warp plasma, no boarding party, etc). The best ship of my flotilla. If this were Warship Gunner, it would be a heavy battleship with 3 80cm, 75 cal guns, 60cm hull plate, and reactor boilers in the engine room. My FAC should do very well in the new content (it better anyways). When I say good, mean "competitive".
Looking at the ship concept art graphics, could I just suggest that we get a few options so that those of us into more 'traditional' graphics can get these? The Starfleet T6 nacelles look like they'd really bug me, and it's such a minor quibble but enough to be distracting.
Which is silly and emotional I know, but I don't have a Vulcan toon so there!

"Even numbers" for each faction is exceedingly unlikely; the original stated range was 7-10 T6 ship at launch, neither end of which is divisible by 3. We've also only seen concept images of 2 Fed, 1 KDF, and 1 Rom ship, which further makes an even distribution unlikely.
On the plus side, the KDF and Rom ships each look way better than either of the Fed ones (IMHO) we've seen. :P

If they don't make kdf bop and carrier along with the new raptor and neg'var and then wonder why nobody plays kdf my opinion of cryptic will be pretty much the same.

I suppose we'll find out in due time. I'm expecting at least 2 each, hoping for 3. Further development is likely to be determined based on in-game player feedback(IE sales).
okay my fleet got togethor an discussed the T6 ships. Not too much of an issue with the KDF and Rom ships but the fed ships. Not one of us like it and a couple of us have work on game mods and saw better designs then these pieces of garbage. the only decent one is one they didn't make. They took the Courageous class, a downloadable ship from STAR TREK LEGACY and put it in. Okay why can't we see any of Activision's desings in game if you can put a Legacy ship in?

As for management, who cooked up this idea, kindly take your T6 ships and make cast iron models before sticking them into certain places.
With utmost respect, love and politeness, of course.
Are any of the Tier 6 going to sport full set of consoles max limit.
Max 5/5 Weapons T6
180 arc Torpedo's T6
360 dual heavy beam array's T6
82,000 hull rating T6
Turn Rate of 100% T6
Power Flow Rate of 500% to 1000% T6
Anything higher than Anti-proton weapons or many anti-proton torpedo's and mines..?
Time will only tell!
