Or just make sure that when it procs for at near-max shield capacity it will heal for the needed hitpoints. Dam I payed for it, I don't want to see it having a nerf hammer because people can't deal with it. I kill romulans who use the console normally, they're not god and I don't have the /kill command.
"I payed for it!" - That's a very dangerous argument.
That way just lies pay-to-win and you needing to buy consoles just to keep up. That way, Cryptic could decide to not nerf the Valdore console, but just create another one that is even better. And once everyone (that would fall for it) bought that, they sell you the next console that is even better.
Cryptic balancing - including nerfing - C-Store ship consoles is also ensuring that they stay honest and don'T create a power creep spiral that you can only keep up with if you constantly pay them.

You didn't get what I mean. I payed for it means I don't want it to become useless from one day to another, and I think that's something I deserve for buying something off the C-Store.
Problem with the console is that "healing" showed on final board is way superior to what it actually did in the entire match. But prolly no one spent a single second considering this option and called for nerf.
A tac scimitar, arkif, defiant, avenger, and a long list of ships i don't care to name can go "nose to nose" with a tac cube and beat it solo. Has nothing to do with the valdore console or even romulans, has everything to do with cryptic designing content for the "average" player who does not properly build his ship or fly it.
not in 30 seconds a scimitar can
not in a defiant your spouting rubbish here plain and simple maybe in 10 respawns and 10 minutes
perhaps you should try some of what you claim..only romulans can do it with the valdore console
in a Tac ship with a Tac character
I sopose you can blow away a entire cube and everything below it in 30 seconds with your defiant solo as well at cure elite...If your going to lie tell a BIG lie dont hold back
I know scimitars can
Do you even play the game at all ? or just talk trash here in the forums

I think people did spend thoughts on that, but they also have data that suggests even if it may be overreported, it's still healing too much.
And no one - well, probably not no one at all, but let's say very few - wants the console to be useless. It sholudn't be dead weight, but that doesn't mean it can stay as is.

The only reason sales shot through the roof in the first place is because of the top players realizing its potential and others mimicking their builds.
"Top players" don't need the console in the first place.
Apart from all the arguing about whether or not this Console is too powerful, we are preparing to make a small change to it's mechanics, in the hopes of allowing both our internal testers, and players, to generate more accurate reports regarding its actual output.
This change, when it goes live, should allow us to eliminate the "overhealing" variable as a potential variable that may be skewing the numbers and behavior we're seeing.
Well,
can't help it, I am touched.
Got a question, Bort:
What are the chances of Cryptic looking into the whole combatlog system? I do not know how difficult or how many resources it requires to upgrade combatlog... is there a possibility to add a variable "net healing"? Or to replace the current raw healing reports by net healing?

They added a kind of net healing for hull heals as a consequence of SA (at least I guess that this is the reason). Adding net healing for shield heals (without any further changes) could possibly lead to a situation where a parser couldn't easily tell anymore whether an ability is shield healing or shield damage, the combatlog is really weird that way.

Lol no, when they nerf a console that everyone already brought, it's an indication that they'll put out a new one which naturally no one brought yet, so ppl can pay again. That's how it works.:D

There should be a way for Cryptic to make combatlog a bit less weird, so that parsers at least don't decrease in reliability?

Theres many things...the account isnt yours but cryptics/pwe. As such they reserve the right to make any changes deemed necessary...blah blah blah.
Point being...if you bought something thats deemed OP, the only right you have is to voice an opinion on it...not to change it
Its the obvious potential that needs a nerf...just take your average crit...times it by three. If you can heal your shield....it needs a nerf.
Milage will vary, extra varibles such as cannons and beams...distance...buffs applied...builds in use.
Ya...i see...a teribad fireing cannons with no buffs at 10 km will do jack all....a vaper with cannons at point blank will get full shield heals on every crit...
I dont know how it will end up balanced...if it even goes through the grinder,,,I personally hope it does.
When a Tac Scimtar with this console can go nose to nose by itself and blow away the end boss Tac cube at ISE with no help from the team because of this console
Thats game breaking for PvE... I am sure you can set up as Scim and do this yourself..other Romulan ships can do the same as well... the scim just does it better
It may be a problem in PvP ........Idk
Its game breaking in PvE
Exactly right, it is overpowered in PVE since you can solo tac cubes and easily win 1st in Crystalline entity or SB24, but not so overpowered in PVP. Only FAW ships use it so mainly the Scimitar, but now its easy enough to spike those down quickly in an organized team, and valdore console does nothing to save them from spike damage due to it not buffing resists. I can't ever think of a time when people on my teamspeak are cursing about the valdore console, but more about other stuff the Roms use to get away like spamming sing jump everywhere. Only situation where it may be overpowered in PVP is in Pug matches where there is no coordination, but that is the fault of the lack of coordination and teamwork, not the console.

In a coordinated situation, the valdore would rarely if ever save someone....on one on one dogfights, it could grant a free full shield buff.
Different scenarios, different outcomes. Thats just...life
Edit: its better to look at the console itself, instead of isolated incidents
Sorry I had initially asked if it could be on the Mirror Mogai and now realize you're talking about the T3 console is universal. My bad, this is what happens when you skim stuff before caffiene
Let us upgrade the Seleya Ceremonial Lirpa and Kri'stak Blade

This game isn't supposed to be balanced for 1v1 fights, most pvp is team based and it isn't the problem as far as Romulans being unbalanced is concerned. I am worried people will think nerfing this is the answer to roms being op and not look at the other factors that need to be balanced instead like traits, warbirds, sing jump, etc.

Do you even play the game, or are you one of those people that just sucks at the game and comes to the forums to blather on about your supposed knowledge. No a defiant can't take down the tac cube solo in 30 seconds, but it can do it, and without dieing, but I will grant you it takes some skill. However an avenger can take it down solo relatively easy, again not in 30 seconds, but then a scimitar can't do it in 30 seconds either.
I will grant you scimitars can take down a tac cube faster than any fed ship, but thats because craptic refuses to give the feds good ships and gimps every "battleship" and "dreadnought" with a cmdr engineering station.
If you know how to play the game, and you have any kind of skill, you know i am correct. This game has been easy as TRIBBLE since well before romulans came along, hasn't really had any challenge in it since about season 5.

Minus those weird buff bugs in breech and the like eh?
No a defiant can't take down the tac cube solo in 30 seconds, but it can do it, and without dieing, but I will grant you it takes some skill.
That sentence doesn't make much such, though i do get what you mean. The question is can the defiant take down a tac cube while not running away? Because, as this mobile cannon platform is concerned, there will be a time when rocking back and forth won't be enough anymore. All you heals or resists will be exhausted and then you're basically just f'ed, if the tac cube still stands.
If there is no lockout perioud, then 2 shots in a row proccing the console could be observed at times, no?
Anyone did some testing on this?
Wouldn't it be easier to just look if the console procced in less than 1sec interval? Defining 2 consecutive shots that procced another healing ability might be a tad harder.
i'll have to remember to log next time im on my rom, to prove a point. they could nerf this console in half and it would still be a must have, no amount of intellectual dishonesty can argue that its fine the way it is.
been a wile since i examined how often it was procing. around when it got its first bug fix, it was procing every 0-7 seconds whenever i had all 7/8 weapons on a target. the old tests weren't even on FAW boats ether, with each beam array having 10 shots per cycle that can proc. no, just a 3 DHC, 1 DBB dhlean if i recall correctly.
Honestly, I never did understand why the Valdore console was set up the way it was. While it really is just fine for an average setup, it's the fact that it just keeps improving as your damage does that makes it such an outlier in terms of performance. That, and the fact that it still applies the shield heal to your healing when your shields are full... that just plain screws up the scoring for healing entirely.
Why not make it a Tetryon Glider in console form, half as effective but applying a shield heal at the same time it applied shield drain to your target? Then it really would be absorbing shield energy, and it wouldn't be able to reach quite the heights of ridiculousness that the current version does. I dunno, but I do have to admit that the way it currently functions is a bit outside the norm, shall we say :P
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
To the OP, I don't think you should have put Scimitar Barbie and Peggy-O on the spot like that to prove your point.
That being said, given the data, the Valdore console does go too far in its healing. Tying healing to DPS, which is completely out of control for the Romulan faction, without putting some cap on it, was a complete TRIBBLE up on the part of the developers. As for those who say they NEED this console because Romulans have a -40 power penalty on Romulan ships.
For that -40 penalty they get standard:
1) Extremely nice boff space bonuses centered around cloaking and DPS
2) Battle cloak
3) Singularity powers
This console isn't part of the package to compensate for the power loss, it was a C-Store console designed to sell a particular ship that overperforms too much.
And yes, there are plenty of other mechanics in the game that compound the problem, but it doesn't mean this particular console needs an adjustment. For the console users, it accounts for 70+% of their shield heals.
For that -40 penalty they get standard:
1) Extremely nice boff space bonuses centered around cloaking and DPS
2) Battle cloak
3) Singularity powers
Only #2 and 3 are true. The first is NOT a compensation for a tradeoff because Romulans are not required to fly Warbirds. Only 2 and 3 are items given for the -40. If a Romulan does not fly a warbird, he takes no -40 power penalty and is thus categorically superior to the Fed and KDF equivalents flying the same ship.
Apart from all the arguing about whether or not this Console is too powerful, we are preparing to make a small change to it's mechanics, in the hopes of allowing both our internal testers, and players, to generate more accurate reports regarding its actual output.
This console will no longer be capable of triggering unless at least one Shield Facing is below 90% maximum capacity.
This change, when it goes live, should allow us to eliminate the "overhealing" variable as a potential variable that may be skewing the numbers and behavior we're seeing.
After that change is live, and we've had time to gather reports from both testers and players, we may still consider changing the functionality of this console. However, we would not do so lightly, as we appreciate that this is an item that players have spent their Zen to obtain.
That is one change that has been needed for awhile bort, however the console also triggers off of other effects outside of energy weapons.
This leads to extra healing when none should be applicable.
Reason sales shot through the roof in the first place is because of the top players realizing its potential and others mimicking their builds.
The reason I stay the hell away from mimicking popular builds is because anything that is too good will get the nerf bat swung at it sooner or later like the 2 piece borg set bonus or the tier 4 Romulan placate. That, and the fact that playing spacebar online gets boring fast.
I long for the day when they nerf technicians and a river of tears runs through these forums. Heck, I'm pretty sure nerfing technician doffs would, by far, improve things more than dealing with this console.

I seriously dont see the improvement. Aside from limiting (some) cruisers. One of the most powerful scimi-builds is non-a2b, most escorts go around 20k (well, 15k+ in pugs) and even ships like attrox and vesta are knocking on 20k-door (my sci even broke it in a decent pug). The newer battle cruisers dont need it to get full tactical layout (if the assault wouldnt have been killed already by the avenger, it would be the one BC suffering from it^^).
This would gimp the mimickers, but not the good players, as they have either alternative builds, or ships and most important, experience.
I think about it, but I cant think of a ship without an non-a2b-alternative(which would then have the advantage of Nukara T4). Gal-X might be one, but there are at least 4 better ships without a2b atm. Fanboy-screams sound nice, though^^
sort of have a feeling lately that everything is locked down and tied into the expansion build from this point on, or the point right after the summer event starts
If the romulans have been able to produce a very powerful technology, why do evil people want to sabotage that ?
Why not work around this in a different manner:
1. Have your federation scientists come up with a way to lower the effectiveness of this console.
What comes to mind is to tie the console workings into a system, such as auxiliary and find ways to drain or disable that system.
2. If the console has so much healing, find a way to drain some of that and use it to boost your own shields.
3. Project a scattering field around the enemy ship while firing a concentrated tachyon wave burst upon it. This will disable the shield reabsorbtion for at least 10-15 seconds if not more. Works like a charm !
This are just random ideas, maybe you guys can come up with something even better.
If we keep dragging the progress back by hundred years, no wonder people will complain that they have become bored with playing the game.
In conclusion, don't fight the technological progress, but instead - find ways to enhance it !
