    I think the transformation trick takes the place of the 10th console slot.

    Any word on whether or not these are a test bed for a future revamp for all science vessels with a second deflector, like the breen raider and flanking, or just an individual feature?

    They've been talking about a secondary deflector for Sci Ships forever, so I'd be very shocked if it was only for the Dyson Science Destroyers, although it maybe awhile before other sci ships get the second deflector.

    Also Gorn Support Vessels will likely get the second deflector as well, as they're effectively science vessels as well, in all but name.

    Well in the pic the ship is equipted with a Solanae Deflector, but it looks like a regular equiptment slot, so I suspect that the deflector is switchable. The Solanae Deflector might be apart of a equiptment set, I don't know.

    Lol, IF they allow sci ships to really equip two deflectors, it would make my day.

    Cryptic likes to test new technology on one ship before implementing it on the others. So assuming that Cryptic doesn't plan on adding a visual location for Science ships, then we could see Secondary Deflectors on other Science ships by Season 9.

    The console layout of the ship lets me try some interesting stuff. For 10 consoles, a 5th sci console, or a 4 sci/4 tac console version would be even more interesting.

    TRIBBLE the 2nd deflector. A science consoles adds more "science" than a deflector. And it's one short.:rolleyes:

    It's not a dyson deflector, I thought so too at first, but the icons are subtly different. Compare the corners.

    Obviously at some point there will be a 10 console version, there hasn't been an anniversary ship yet that didn't get a 10 console version. Can't believe people are actually worrying about this. The second deflector is actually something new and interesting. Your console question can be answered with some light history homework.

    Assuming that the Proton DHC is fixed, and since it appears that the subsystem targeting still works when in tactical mode (at least the icons were still there), I'm thinking an antiproton DHCs and the gravimetric torp fore, turrets and the omni-directional beam aft (for subsystem targeting), then auto-targeting modules and the proton-particle stabilizer to boost the proton DHC and add the 2-piece to the torpedo. Not sure if I'd go Borg or KHG for my engine/deflector combo though, extra torp damage vs making up for the shortage of hull heals.

    Boff layout the concept seems like gravity well, CSV+APB, then torp spread, with the science otherwise being the standard PH/HE/TSS, then maybe TBR for spam clearance and ST for subnucs. Throw on a pair of EPTx abilities and a couple of damage control doffs, and its ready to go.

    Thats what the design seems to beg for anyways, if not exactly a unique setup.

    im trying to figure out what the Tactical and Science modes are like.

    does the Tactical get 1 Cmd Tactical 1 Ensign Tactical 1 lt Cmd Science 1 Ensign Science 1 Ensign Engineer

    and Science mode gets 1 lt Cmd Tactical 1 Ensign Tactical 1 Cmd Science 1 Ensign Science 1 Ensign Engineer

    sadly that Tactical setup falls short vs the Breen Chel Grett Warship which is also a Destroyer and is a 10 slot ship that is 4/4 even if you were to make the universal ensign a Science officer.

    it gets 1 Cmd Tactical 1 Lt Tactical 1 Lt Engineer 1 Lt Cmd Science 1 Universal.

    these new ships better have over 37-39k hulls other wises they're not worth the same grind as the Winter Event.

    but if those Targeting System actually works with Tactical then maybe but i still would like atleast 36-37k hull...

    It also has 1-2 fewer guns compared to the Breen cruiser. But on the flip side, you get a 2nd deflector, and that makes all worth it, right?:rolleyes:

    I doubt they'll have hull that high, more likely they'll have every high shields like other science ships. And its not comparable to the Breen ship, its primarily a sci ship, with a destroyer mode. And the Breen Ship doesn't get a second Deflector, or the shields of a sci ship. Its likely to have Sensor Analysis and Subsystem targeting.

    Depends if we can remove the Proton DHC...

    and they said they have a Special new Dyson Deflector for that 2nd slot if i read the blog correctly.

    wish they would bump the ensign tactical in tactical mode to Lt along with the Engineer or the Science and in Science mode Bump the Ensign Science to Lt with the Engineer.

    or just make the Engineer Lt and in each mode the Ensign Tactical or Science Boff gets bumped to Lt in their Respected modes.

    The Breen cruiser has sci boff high enough to use a grav well, same as dysen ship in destroyer mode, plus more consoles and more guns. Who needs a 2nd deflector. Deflector is pretty much the most unimportant piece of a ship.

    cruiser has second lt Tactical along with a Lt Engineer as well.

    compare to Ensigns on the Sci/Destroyers..

    and if it has 35k Hull with 1.43/.5 Shields ill accept them :x

    Borg deflector, borg engine, KHG deflector, KHG shield. Which is almost certainly why they won't do that.

    Both of these were things I was thinking too. Some people have no imagination, just writing off deflectors like that.

    Bonus acc, bonus drain, another 2 piece bonus. All sorts of options with this.

    some people try to relate it to more of a Science Ship...

    people say the 2nd Deflector makes up for not being 10 consoles but 2nd Deflector is gonna be a new feature for all Science Ships...

    and the poor Secondary Boff ranks...

    9 Consoles.

    4/3 weapons with slight chance 1 of the forward weapons being perm and not removable.

    2nd Deflector Dish might bring new Secondary Deflector Items Making Set Stacking Null and Void.

    Secondary Deflector Dish.

    Proton DHC.

    Targeting system and Scanner.

    Targeting and Maybe Scanner in Tactical Mode.

    Decent Hull and High Shields (Maybe).


    but i do highly think that coming of the Secondary Deflector Dish will Introduce Secondary Deflector Dish Only Items.

    Cmdr. Sci+Lt.cmdr. Tac made my Lethean sci jump for joy. Add in the test of the long-fabled 2nd deflector mechanic? Full of win.

    I just hope that it will have a full 10 console slots. It is a grind ship after all.

    A second deflector dish just might be... well a way to help compensate for the space flanking ability that will go eventually to all escorts. Can you imagine the Vesta with 2 deflectors and that helps determine how much more tanky the ship can get? You could literally have the 2pc set bonus from the old Borg Space Set and the Adapted MACO space set at the same time!

    I currently run the Adapted MACO Deflector. Unless the blog post next week says otherwise, I assume I can then slot the regular MK XII MACO Deflector on this new Dyson Sci Destroyer... :eek:

    Nuts yes, epic... well til it gets NERF'd in game after the launch.

    i don't think Escorts are getting it as well?

    from what i heard they would be new type of Raider ships like Klingon BoP's...

    but idk i never got a chance to actually read on what they're doing with the Flanking Passive.
