I mean.. with the Gateway working neither.. seems to be that Cryptic is in a very big trouble.
Not only graphic related, but also a database problem on their side. The Gateway draws the infos about our characters and ships from the Cryptic Servers, and not from our computers. And that we even can't see current infos on Gateway.. oh boy.. :eek:
I just dont get how we were all running fine and dandy until the s8 roll out and now all of our different systems , cards , interwebs are the cause ...I doubt it ...what did they change so drastically that it put everything on FUBAR ???? :mad:
i've been forced back to Battlestar Galactica Online... if this issue doesn't get resolved soon i think i'll loose interest in STO and just stay on BGO the only way that i can see this getting any better is if STO does the following:
I came to sto from BSGO myself. Tried going back a few times but I have a graphics issue there as well. Message from there devs was to downgrade the unity software to fix it. I have no idea how to do that so I can no longer play it.

Firefox? The unity player crashes sometimes and i occassionally get script errors that slow my PC down.

Know what's really ironic? One of my own fanfics is a collection of STO-related oneshots and I had actually written one about the launching of an Avenger-class Battlecruiser - including a reference to "Sphere of Influence" and Season Eight and had intended to post it to celebrate the new season...
Except, since I basically can't get into the game FOR the new season, I haven't bothered to post it yet...

So would The Space Time Administration Bureau act similarly to the federation Temporal investigations or would the be a separate entity in the star trek universe not associated with any other group.

Actually...I am (via Negative Space Wedgie in the Azure Nebula) having a Fed Sovereign-class Explorer, Rom Republic Mogai-class Warbird, and a KDF Norgh-class Bird of Prey end up in their universe during StrikerS (AUing events with their presence) for the first installment. Than from there jumping between the Midchilda plus it's Universe and the Alpha/Beta Quadrants during Episode Arcs of STO.
So pretty much a separate entity from the Federation but with interest in the events going on...as somehow the Star Trek dimension has not blown itself up yet. O_o
This analogy doesn't work, unless the bridge requires your car to 'log in' to authorize you to cross the bridge, and that log in is what triggered the bridge to explode. And only your 'lane' of the bridge exploded (well, ok, you lane, my lane, his lane, that dude over there, etc.) while other 'lanes' of the bridge are unaffected.
Just because your machine hasn't changed does not mean it isn't part of the problem. Otherwise *no one* would be able to log in. There is something in the game code that does not like certain combinations of drivers and software - maybe a hundred or two hundred specific combinations in the literal thousands of possible configurations.
Quite frankly, I am often amazed that PCs work at all.
My 'lane' is still marked with the dreaded 7741 error. Not that I expected anything else today.

Arc isnt a guaranteed fix to get you that far, as i am using it and cant even get the launcher to loan (AutoUpdater keeps cycling then "cannot connect to server")
This regardless of me reinstalling Arc, All ports forwarded, AV disabled on attempts, tracert and nettesting the applicable ports, all coming back saying there is not an issue at my end.
Basically, they have messed up the servers and the actual game files with the new patch. OR, may have disabled the patching server while they are attempting to create fixes.
Would still be nice if they would give us a chuffing update though.
Dont forget though, there is server maintenance scheduled for the 5th Dec (in 12 days from now) so my guess is that they will leave it all until then. If that happens im going to get really annoyed!
Congratulations, Cryptic!!! It has officially been two weeks, well, 13 days, since you released the Season 8 Patch and officially crashed Star Trek Online for the rest of us. Not only isn't there a fix in sight but we get no regular updates on where you are with this problem and we're all left dying in the wind because communication seems to be an archaic idea.
Now, STO has been renamed to its notorious title: Star Trek Offline
Don't get me wrong. I'm as patient as the next guy, but this is getting ridiculous. Ever since the patch, we've grown impatient and all we want is the ability to play this game.
I'm reminded of an old saying from my childhood. I don't remember where I heard it from or who created the saying, but it rings true: If it ain't broke, don't fix it

love that game, just frustrating no saves during missions otherwise would have been one of the best
