Like Many fed ships this is not interesting plus since it seems tactical focused by the looks of it. Please release the KDF ships or are we going to have to wait 3 more years for KDF to get some content again

Well, I think that'd be pretty much obvious from me, but I don't like it. At all. It doesn't feel Star Trek, this is what I'd imagine for Star Wars or Transformers if they were to base it on a Star Trek cruiser 'hull-secondary hull-nacelles' structure.

Of the newer FED ships, I basically like the Odyssey, Chimera (except the 'transformers' part to it) and the original Vesta. You'll notice they're not really Cryptic designs.

I really dislike the Armitage, the Rademaker and the Aventine. I came to accept the Regent only after a while (now I've mostly gotten used to it although from some angles it's still hideous).

On the non FED front it's not much better either: The Andorian escorts look far worse than their ancestors, the Adapted destroyer and battle cruiser are laughable.

The Romulan ships are curious as well. When they're going for 'modern, updated look', it often ends way worse than the original. Case in point: D'Deridex and Dridthau (same as Mogai and Valdore, Dhelan and Dhael, and even the new Ar'kif and Ar'kala).

I guess that means: Please ship artists, don't try to make new ships look modern, edgy or cool, they might end up much better.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

I like it. It's something different. I like having a bit of a chunky, blocky option, that looks more like a warship. It sort of reminds me of something out Battlestar Galactica or Stargate SG-1, and I'm perfectly okay with that. If you want elegant curves, there's billions (exaggerated) of perfectly good options available.

    Different?
It just look like almost any other Cryptics starfleet design just more exaggerated.

Proportions are wrong, the position of the saucer looks like after the collision with a small moon. The engineering hull looks like a coal briquet while the whole ship looks compressed. Those little "guns" on the saucer look like attached by a five year old, not understanding how trek technology works. Shall i go on?

This is Star Trek and NOT Stargate or BSG, maybe Cryptics "designers" may notice this someday....
It's like making a Lord of the rings game and make the evles look like a Terminator (T800)...
... just because some designer thinks, it looks "cooler".

    All true.
Cryptic designers should Stop taking other francises as example for their Star Trek ship designs.
If they can't come up with elegant starfleet ship designs they should look for another job IMO.

Starfleet ships are NOT supposed to look over-the-top-cool, every try to do so makes them look rediculus and totally inappropriate. (but i bet Cryptics designers don't even reckognize the difference)
If Cryptics designers want to make edgy and blocky looking ships they should invent a new alien species using shuch ships, but please someone tell them to stop making deformed and hideus looking Starfleet ships.

Seriously this is annoying me big time,

    <snip>

Maybe they should have taken a Maquis raider made it four time bigger that it should be then slapped half of Voyager on it and called it a day. Or cannibalize a few AMT kits and glue highlighters on as warp nacelles.

Cryptic's Avenger is no better or worse that many Starfleet ships we have seen on the show. The Miranda class was very blocky (and had big cannons), and the Soyuz variant had four gun turrets off some Battleship kit glued on. The Enterprise-B model took the sleek Excelsior and added all sorts of blocky items to the hull.

Proportions? The Oberth (the 1st non kitbash Federation ship we see along with the Excelsior) had a secondary hull that was only a few meters short of the front of the saucer section's front.

Oh and the next person to complain about the winglets on the nacelles: go look at the Enterprise Refit's nacelles.
My Romulan Liberated Borg character made it to Level 30 and beat the (old) Defense of New Romulus with the skill point bug. :D

Brandon... I forgot how this goes, but I think if I remember, you are the Community person.

Right now, you are speaking to the Federation Community, which.. makes sense on a FED ship.

But you don't even take notice to the KDF community when they ask about why was our ship postponed on half being developed and can't continue development because of "Voth." Even on Twitter, you responded to JBergnon like this:
JBergnon: ... Roomie, I can sympsthize, but it wasn't brandon's call to delay the KDF again.

    BranFlakes: @JBergnon :P

If anything, instead of doing this face :P, maybe you can tell us why this Federation ship is here, despite you being quiet on the fact that the KDF has to wait until 2014 for a new ship because of Voth, and then when Voth is in progression of being made, the so called reason why we don't have a new ship yet, the Federation gets a ship anyways.

My ":P" reply was not to that comment, it was to his "nah, hit the tweet button after waking up." tweet. https://twitter.com/JBergnon/status/387357557662044160

I did not reply to the comment you posted. https://twitter.com/JBergnon/status/387362173489401856

We have a KDF ship in the works, I just don't know the release date. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

I don't have twitter, so sorry for the confusion on my part. But thanks for the info. It just that I saw nothing was really said on the KDF part. And still in the end, I am very confused on why it was said the KDF ship was delayed because of Voth but a new FED ship was not delayed because of Voth, at least by what we see here.

It is not that I want to know when it will be released, I want to know why it wasn't since the reason given to the KDF does not hold the same for the FED.

Please Brandon, if you have a reason, I will accept it. Sure, disappointment will most likely come, but I would feel better if this was explained more.

    Kind Regards,

    Aki ~

...that one you posted in your answer was way better. Do we have more than one option for the saucer/neck/hull/pylon/nacelles structures (as with most Federation ships), so folks that want either a beefy or a sleek warship can adjust it to be their cup of tea, Earl Grey, hot?

Seeing the Avenger at that angle in the ship selection bar at the top in this image, reminded me of one of John Eaves' designs for "First Contact" here, on the lower right side.

I believe this is an adequate response to that statement.

Not to mention, ONE? You people owe us alot more than ONE ship.

    You owe us:
    At least 12 Ships
    Fleet Textures for Non-Klingon Ships
    At least 2 3-Pack Bundles
    At least 3 Science Vessels

    need I go on?

I am probably being dogmatic, but please Brandon, explain more. Just saying "We don't know the date yet" did not answer my in initial question.

Sort of, since they don't owe us anything... though if you compare the playable starships available to each faction you can see a bit of an imbalance. Personally, I play more than one faction and would appreciate a bit more available on the KDF end; my Federation captain has plenty of options available. While I congratulate Federation-only players on their access to a variety of shinies, I suspect everyone else might be glad to see some more variety to the game.

    You serious?

You realize that a stronger game in all facets benefits us all right? More players more money more development more options. And many of the boff/stats/consoles have been established in fed ships can be transferred to other skins for KDF quickly.

Its not entitlement why the kdf want what we have on the blue side, it is maybe frustration, but it is well founded.

Not like they do this out of the goodness of their heart, the paying customer can demand services that they want.

And the paying costumer did decide. Klingon sales are low, unlike Romulan and Federation sales.
Otherwise there would be tons of Klingon stuff.
