Just been confirmed on Twitter that it will not be a 3 pack, so may come with a special weapon and / or console, but no sets or set bonuses I imagine.

    Just thinking.
Double neck and everything seem to be roughly the same relations as the Odyssey.
Could it be that this ship could be a Odyssey variant?
(...and share the same ship parts with it?)

Lol, they actually renamed the Star Cruiser into "sentinel Class" so they can name their new toy "Avenger"...

Why couldn't they just rework the Galaxy and the Star Cruiser to be equal to the Regent Class? Or better release two new up to date ships that can use the parts of their predecessor?

    Why another Regent Warship-"thing"?

Since they bothered to model in a hangar bay I'm guessing it's either a 1 or 2 hangar ship.

Looks to me as a regular shuttle bay. The Galaxy class has 3 of them. 1 huge on the saucer and 2 on the neck. Even the Sovereign class has 2 of them. Huge one on the saucer, and one at the back of the star drive.

However I'm sure it can launch a fighter that you have in your inventory to use.

    ISSUE-

this is coming out before the negvar refit, a ship thats been pushed back and delayed about 6 months now. what would be in REALLY good taste is a kdf and fed ship coming out at the same time, both real nice battle cruisers, that would make a lot of sense. but theres no indication thats happening, the kdf ship is at the absolute bottom of the ship priority list

oh god more arrays on nacelles  this is wrong. you need to stop doing this.

looks very regent like, ive never carried for that things look at all. the monbosh is already the best battlecruiser, this will proboly have trouble competing with it unless its over the top. hope this isnt another shot in the foot like the last warbird. at least its an actual faction ship, and not another alien ship.

this thing can cloak too btw

I rather have the arrays on the nacelle pylons. Where they are usually located on most ships.

The thing I like the most is that she has her name on opposite sides of the saucer. For some reason it makes me happy that my enemies will know my ship's name while she broadsides them into oblivion.

True on that. All my Federation Cruisers are set up for broadside offense "Beam Boats". So if they make this ship for broadsiding. Then I already have all the gear.

That may be true in a direct perspective. But if she can carry DCs or DHCs and has a better Tactical layout with a better turn radius, even without the Lance, people would likely choose her over the G-X, even with the updates they been working on (like the Lance Shotgun).

I hope that this ship will have its ship parts interchangeable with the Odyssey.
Cryptic hopefully won't do the same mistake again and release it without any addtional ship parts (like they did with the Odyssey).

Maybe its not the same design line as the sovereign and Regent but rather similar like the odyssey. If yes i will consider buying it, but if it doesn't come with any alternative parts i certainly wont even consider it.

Yeah I do hope that it comes with some alternative parts to play with. That's one reason I never picked up the Odyssey, I don't like how it looks and I can't change out any parts on it.

Same here, in fact I'd be very happy if it is parts-interchangeable with the Assault Cruiser variants. I've taken my (fleet) Sovereign about as far as it can go. I'd love an even more tactical variant.

P.S. I believe the current Avenger class ships is being renamed to "Sentinel".

Makes sense. IMO, the name, Avenger, never did sit well in context with the Vanguard and Emissary variant Star Cruisers. Sentinel is more consistent.

I look forward to viewing the New Avengers.

It looks interesting, but I'm not a big fan of the oversized fins on the nacelles.

From the angle shown, it kinda-sorta looks to me, like the primary hull slides into the secondary hull like a disc into a notch...

Be very cool if that was how its separation took place.
(even if it's not possible to do in-game)

My one big wish is that there be a 'round' primary saucer option, instead of just the oblong one.

I miss that design element in the newer ships.

cheese with YOUR whine? We FEDs dont actually need ANY new ships for a while, the KDF is a stepchild or "special cousin" and the romulans are low on selection.

Romulans have the best ships in the game.

The KDF selection, while smaller than the Fed selection, is far more effective in terms of DPS.

Fed cruisers meanwhile are vastly inferior to KDF battlecruisers. The one ship that can equip dual heavy cannons, the Gal-X, has a turnrate that makes it a really dumb idea to equip them.

    funny.

The GCS and the Star Cruiser should get a update appropriate to their specialisation.
Like giving the Star Cruiser a BOFF layout similar to the regents, but instead of ebing tactical focussed it would be science focussed.
The GCS could get a update like this: LINK
Or they should just make it a Engineering counterpart to the Nebula.

    @lan451
Same here, i would have bought the Odyssey long ago, if it had some alternative parts.
Even if we could just get some alternative pylons that make the nacelles face forward like the regent, would have been enough for me to buy it.
But its fat Excelsior look is just not my cup of tea.

I really hope that this new ship can use the Odysseys ship parts and vice versa. This would help both ships IMO.

Just out of curiosity, why not just call the new one Sentinel and leave the Avenger as it is? That seems simpler to me. Not complaining, just curious.

The ship looks awesome by the way.

Okay... another Fed ship coming out soon, along with their ''Epic'' Voth ships which they use as an excuse to put the new KDF C-Store ship to the selves...

What is this now, like 7th or 8th stright tier 5 Fed ship since the Bortasqu came out 2 years ago.

Not a great year to die as a KDF player... :(

The Kamarang is nice, and a decent balance to the Ambassador. Of course the new battle cloak installed on the KDF equivalents of the Andorian Escort and MMSV 3-packs is so effective it has yet to appear on our sensors... I can't wait to pilot something with that kind of Stealth rating!

Really, though, if it's worth getting I might look into this thing on the Federation end. The Fleet variant is the main one that interests me, but we'll just have to see what it actually does. :)
