Or simply just push the Dev Tracker button and read what the Devs have to say all in one place. It's the first thing I do when I come on the forum. That way I don't have to speculate or read second-hand accounts of anything. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

According to tribble, this thing can equip a cloaking device.

damage to the model from sticking the galaxy X TRIBBLE to the model necessitated that. later no cgi galaxy had them. worthless place for arrays anyway there was no blind spot for arrays at that location to cover. anywhere they could fire at the large saucer arrays could already hit, or up to 4 small arrays on the secondary hull that were already there.

Except the ship's main power transfer conduits feed in to the nacelles, so if the designers wanted to feed a phaser bank off the main EPS power taps for additional power the three best places to put them would be on the ventral side of the secondary hull (aft of the warp core), the pylons and the nacelles.
My Romulan Liberated Borg character made it to Level 30 and beat the (old) Defense of New Romulus with the skill point bug. :D

Awesome ship -- I know the KDF is getting nothing till next year but there is one request I would like to make:

The Fleet B'rel was given a 4th Eng console slot - this is totally silly since it has a EBC - I needs a 4th Tac console slot instead!!

She is totally out-classed by the T'Varo which has 4 tac slots and a higher Hull

Please Please - how much time would it take to change the code so that the Fleet B'rel has a 3/3/4 console layout??

    Thanks

What struck me is that this Federation design essentially comes from nowhere. I didn't expect it at all. Arguably, there was no pressing need for a new Fed heavyweight.

    Then I remembered...

They were going to release more ships inspired from the other DTNE winners, right?

While obviously not the same due to the front-swept nacelle pylons, the screenshotted ship does share some elements from the Second-place winner. That has me wonder: Odyssey-variant?

Hmmm so instead of fixing the Galaxy X we need a whole new cash grab.. ahem I mean starship to get a decent on par FED ship?? This had better not be another $50 set dammit.. Ill probably shell out or save up again if it is but wow cant catch a break on the smash and grabs n the wallet can we? She looks like she MIGHT be appropriate for the Voth conflict to come.. We will see.

Cry more. They're clearly not interested in changing the Galaxy/Gal-X to what a minority of obsessed players want it to be. This design has nothing whatsoever to do with the Galaxy or Gal-X. Take your complaints regarding such to one of the many whine threads that already exist for those ships that aren't being paid attention to.

Well the design looks very tight and forward - anything less that a 8 turn = fail

a 9 turn would be super nice

I don't want to take away from the Klingons but, something like their topend battle cruisers would be nice for the feds ( don't hit me ), i to hope it turns very well ( the fleet version could have the tor'khat stats an i wouldn't mind *cough, cough* ).

Very Nice, i think you actually already sold one to me :P just unfortunate Cryptic didn't upgrade the Typhoon Class model for this ship...
Oh, and i see it's a mix of Souvereign and Vesta design, will be interesting :)

That would be imbalanced. The thing has 9 console slots because of its superior BOFF layout.

The thing I like the most is that she has her name on opposite sides of the saucer. For some reason it makes me happy that my enemies will know my ship's name while she broadsides them into oblivion.

Interesting design, not keen on the nacelle 'winglets' though.

Oh, and regarding KDF C-store items; Cryptic have stated several times, that not enough people buy KDF items from the C-store for them to see a return on investment. So if you want more KDF items in future, I suggest you buy what's already there, whether you like/want it or not.

When faced with making Fed item that's almost guaranteed to sell well, or a KDF one that likely won't, it's pretty clear where Cryptic is gonna invest their time and money.

    Oh...

It looks like another oversized Escort with a hangar and some annoying fighters swarming around.

I hope it is much bigger than a Vesta, more like Regent sized and much less nimble than a Vesta. I would hate if cryptic would make it just another DHC using jetfighter.

Hopefully they'll give it something different than just the normal DHCs, maybe some heavy hitting Beam weapons. TBH i am sick of seeing more cannon weapons in a Star Trek game than actual Beam weapons.

For the picture, i think just one angle is too little to say if it looks good or not, but i expect the worst. Maybe it's just the angle but the Saucer looks tiny, compared to the rest of the ship.

But it's good to see a new some Starfleet ship (and no escort) for a change.

Seriously, i was hoping the Starfleet Battlecruiser could be a reworked GCS...
    Thanks Crpytic for ANOTHER dissappointment.

    EDIT: Double neck?
Not that i am against it, in fact it is one of the very few things Cryptic introduced which is not totally over the top or completely inappropriate for Tek, but i think many ppl hate the Odysseys double neck.

Lol, they actually renamed the Star Cruiser into "sentinel Class" so they can name their new toy "Avenger"...

Why couldn't they just rework the Galaxy and the Star Cruiser to be equal to the Regent Class? Or better release two new up to date ships that can use the parts of their predecessor?
    - doing essentially the ABSOLUTELY SAME THING as with the Assault Cruiser -> Regent update? -

    Why another Regent Warship-"thing"?

It's interesting, whatever they'd charge for this ship, which I won't buy, I would have gladly paid for a better Galaxy-X. I'm not even one of the die hards on this subject, but I'd much rather fly a more cannon looking ship.
Also, I'd like the Dev's to try PvP'ing with any cloak besides a battle cloak. It's near useless and you can get your de cloak bonus maybe once or twice in a match while the Roms are doing it non stop. If this ship, the galaxy-x, or defiant had a battle cloak I'd own them all yesterday.
And the Roms still have the best ship (Scimi) in the game?

Interesting, the first true Federation Battlecruiser. So guess this means she will likely have a DC and DHC Capability and likely along with that a LTC or Cmdr Tactical ability.

Or is this the long-rumored Broadsider?

    Design:

Sort of like how its a further take on the Regent, but if she is a completely different animal, shouldn't she have her own look than a variant look? And since she is similar to the Regent, I imagine she will swap skins with the Sovereign and Regent, but I worry because the Regent didn't mesh well with the others, giving these odd protrusions.

Nacelle Navigation Lights are in a very bad spot. Lights go on certain areas of starships (like aircraft) to show the edge of the ships in pure darkness. So those lights need to be moved forward.

Nacelle Winglets, don't think they should be there since they don't look like part of the function.

Also the blockiness of the nacelles don't really mesh with the curved nature of the rest of the ship. Though I like the nacelles, they just don't good with the rest of the ship.

And also I worry about the thickness of the saucer rim. But I'll have to wait for further pictures to make up my mind.

BTW, if she does go with the Regent in means of skins, would've been great if this design had a rear-swept nacelles so those with Regents who wanted that, could've gotten that option.

    Galaxy-X Conserns:

Given what we know about the cloak and her being called a Battlecruiser (which very well could mean DCs and DHCs), I honestly worry the Sentinal is going to replace the old Galaxy-X Dreadnaught, just like how the Odyssey replaced the Galaxy-Refit.

Which in turn makes it feel like a money grab.

Granted her stats might be completely different, but until they are confirmed I have to worry.

So far it looks killer. I'm glad to finally see a Battle Cruiser for the Federation other than the usual Assault Cruiser. I will wait to see the other views to see if I will buy it. So far I'm at 50% on purchase.

Turns out good. This will put me in a bind on ship buying. On which one to choose first on my ship list.

The Avenger will only be a replacement for the Gal-X if she also comes with a huge gun running through her spine.

I'm just a little sad that she's not a Galaxy variant. Granted it was quite a bit of wishful thinking on my part.

I need more stats before I can say "Buy!!" :D
