I have a sneaky suspicions the FE and Ship will be released next Thursday...
Mass teases (Dev Blogs on the Sphere Design, 2 Screenshots) usually happen just before a release; I reckon we'll get 2 Dev Blogs about the ship early next week, one on the design and another on the stats and abilities.
It will then release on Thursday as will the FE. Not sure if the Fleet Variant will release straight away not, either way in order for Cryptic to get their money you will need to purchase the normal Avenger to unlock + a ship module or few for the Fleet version.
Okay... another Fed ship coming out soon, along with their ''Epic'' Voth ships which they use as an excuse to put the new KDF C-Store ship to the selves...
What is this now, like 7th or 8th stright tier 5 Fed ship since the Bortasqu came out 2 years ago.
Not a great year to die as a KDF player...
Yeah I know what you mean brother .. I will join you in your sadness ... We can have coffe and talk ..
No, been 8 months since the last T5 KDF ship, which is also the last time a Fed ship came out, the Romulans been getting the attention.
No, it's been 8 months since the last Tier 5 ''Fleet'' KDF ship, and it's been 2 years since the last Tier 5 ''C-Store'' KDF Ship came out... u should read peoples post more thoroughly.
Did everyone just miraculously forget that the Chel Grett is also a battle cruiser?
Is the Chel Grett getting a fleet version and/or cloaking device?!
In this game the Dev's classified it as a Destroyer which basically a Cruiser like ship with the firepower of an Escort.
No, the Chel Grett already itself a Fleet comparable ship with 10 consoles and stats similar to Lock Box/Fleet/3-pack Ships. the only time u ''might'' see an upgrade if Cryptic decides to expand the Characters level cap to level 60 and introduce a ''Retrofit'' version via Lobi Store upgrade module thing or an event thing (which it came from) to update it.

I see...
It USED to be a Battle Cruiser in-game, I was unaware it had been changed. Thanks!:)
I'd much rather see a release of the Typhoon or Jupiter class battleships than another "battle" cruiser. We've got plenty of those mocking ship levels between the Assault, Heavy, Adv Heavy... Science even has a few I think in the fleet-level with at a Lt Com Tac station.
If the Federation is at war, we need a show of a real warship.

I would prefer the Typhoon over the Jupiter--the Typhoon looks much more like an oversized Federation heavy cruiser, while the Jupiter just looks fugly.

Agreed - Cryptic is only responding to market preassures. Let's make this clear... if you want KDF ships, buy some of the ones they have now. Every KDF captain should have the nausicaan ships for the Plasmonic Leech and the Garumba to put it on - get a Varunus, because seriously, unless you truly consider the Vo'Quv to be your lithe support vessel then you should get this. Then, when it's clear that money is going to KDF ship sales in a way that has some hard currency, other than cheap words behind it, maybe you'll see some more ships.
And yeah, I get that it isn't fair that the feds have more variety so you don't have the C-Store ship with the exact boffs, consoles, hull/shield, and focus that you want... well, so long as you keep dumping your Dilthium->Zen into keys for EC and buy a bunch of lockbox ships to tide you over, the wait will be extended that much more.
oh god more arrays on nacelles  this is wrong. you need to stop doing this.
looks very regent like, ive never carried for that things look at all. the monbosh is already the best battlecruiser, this will proboly have trouble competing with it unless its over the top. hope this isnt another shot in the foot like the last warbird. at least its an actual faction ship, and not another alien ship.
this thing can cloak too btw
Have to agree, it drives me nuts that most of my phaser fire comes from bottom of a nacelle when I'm flying an oddy
Oh, and regarding KDF C-store items; Cryptic have stated several times, that not enough people buy KDF items from the C-store for them to see a return on investment. So if you want more KDF items in future, I suggest you buy what's already there, whether you like/want it or not.
When faced with making Fed item that's almost guaranteed to sell well, or a KDF one that likely won't, it's pretty clear where Cryptic is gonna invest their time and money.
Is low KDF sales indicative of lack of interest of customers, or the inability of Cryptic to make that faction appealing enough for enough people to merit a good ROI on KDF ships?
The release of this ship will not change the fact that in STO, cruisers = target. Engie boff skills are the weakest in game the extra hull and shield difference between it and an escort don't have parity (it can't tank/heal fast enough for its weaker dps to catch up). Fix cruisers, then talk to me about new ships.
One location has a wide range of attire including formal wear, casual attire, activewear, accessories, undergarments, and so forth. You cater to a variety of clientele, and gain sales of some products simply because they are available while your customers are already shopping for something else, and you run a rather nice profit on all-around.
The second location sells socks, albeit a decent selection with a reasonable price point; however, in order to shop there your customers must have previously visited your first location. Customers do come to the second store looking for socks, but for some reason your profit margin turns out to be lower than at the first store, at times even operating at a loss. Over the next couple years, your customers visiting the second location submit a number of customer satisfaction surveys requesting a selection closer to that available at your first location; in response, you begin stocking kilts. While you do sell several of these kilts, you end up at a loss overall.
So, you decide to open a third location. At the same time, you try to get the second location running a bit better. You remove the restriction requiring a previous visit to the first, and add suspenders and scarves to your selection. Your main focus, though, is the newly opened third location; it has a somewhat smaller selection than the first or even second locations, but has higher quality apparel (including socks, kilts, suspenders, and scarves). The newly opened store also provides limited access to items carried at the other two locations, available upon request after your customers have signed up for a special customer loyalty program; however, they may only select items from one of the other locations. The third store does well, but for some reason the second store continues to see lackluster returns, and customer satisfaction surveys continue to reflect the desire for a better selection at the second location.
The obvious conclusion is that there is a demand issue in the second location, since the current selection allows customers to go out with a scarf around their neck, suspenders holding up their kilt, and socks to keep their feet warm. :P
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
I've just seen trhe deflector of that ship on twitter.
Why do you guys (crpytic) have to make ships look so angular just in order to make them look more military?
Did it occur to you that Starfleet ships don't need to look like a military moron fleet?
@branflakes, will we be able to use Odyssey ship parts?
I hope it won't be another stand alone ship like the Odyssey. It's already a big letdown we have to keep the ugly cryptic design without ANY alternative parts on the FLAGSHIP.
If this ship doesn't come with alternative parts i certainly wont buy it, just like i didn't buy the Odyssey.
(and i know i am not alone )
Couldn't you just make an updated GCS?
Why another one of your ugly ship "designs", while people are WAITING for three years for a fun to fly Galaxy Class? You updated the Sovereign, why not the GCS?
Ok, you devs may think the GCS isn't cool enough for your super militaristic spacey game. If not for yourself then you should rework that ship for us fans. You did such a good job with the Vesta and many other ships, why punish TNG and Galaxy class fans with such a crappy ship?
Yeah, there may not be so many GCS fans out there playing STO anymore.
But that minority knows how wrong that ship is made. Cryptics listens to PvP gamers regarding balance issues, why not listen to GCS fans in the GCS issue? (no one wants a "i win" ship, read the What is your beef with the Galaxy Cryptic? - thread, or ANY other GCS related tread if that's not too much to ask for.) LINK LINK LINK

I'm sorry but i am really disgruntled right now. We are waiting for a reworked GCS for years now and Cryptic just releases a ugly militarized caricature of a Starfleet ship and expects us to be exited about it?
EDIT:
If it HAD to be a military Starfleet ship, why not release a "Yesterdays Enterprise" Galaxy Class?
(if that ship was not badass militaristic, then i don't know)

@branflakes, will we be able to use Odyssey ship parts?
This is the fourth or fifth time I've seen this same question asked. Why do people think it'll have (or should have) parts that are interchangeable with the Odyssey? Its clearly not the same size, and looks nothing like the Oddy. Different length, height, ratios, etc.

I haven't seen any picture indicating the size of that ship.
Saucer, hull (double neck?) and nacelles do roughly have the same ratio as the Odyssey imo. But the official picture could lead to a false conclusion.
I think it's mostly wishful thinking, that we won't get another nimble jetfighter like ship.
I would rather want a slower but heavy armed Starfleet Battleship instead.
(but since it seems to be a ugly scrapheap, i won't buy it anyway.)

So let me get this straight...the first KDF C Store ship in over 2 years gets delayed until sometime next year, but you still find time to give the feds yet another ship? you guys are truly pathetic.
Yeah, I find it rather funny how creating new Voth ships puts a strain on the Klingon Fleetyards, but obviously doesn't touch the prescious resources of Starfleet Shipyards.
Two(?) weeks ago, Geko announces a KDF ship in development had stats finished, was halfway through art, but had to be shelved to next year for work on the Voth portions of Season 8.
There was some grumbling, but it's at least a cosmetically good and professional reason-backseating something faction-specific for the good of the entire game.
This Week: "NEW FEDERATION BATTLE CRUISER!!!"
What KDF players are feeling:
Apparently the workload developing the Voth isn't that big-Cryptic just doesn't want to deliver anything KDF side if they can avoid it.
this is coming out before the negvar refit, a ship thats been pushed back and delayed about 6 months now. what would be in REALLY good taste is a kdf and fed ship coming out at the same time, both real nice battle cruisers, that would make a lot of sense. but theres no indication thats happening, the kdf ship is at the absolute bottom of the ship priority list
I agree completely with all of you.
The pure fact that cryptic is releasing this ship as a Cloaking Capable Battle Cruiser screams several things to me.
1-Cryptic continues to show it's outright HATE and DISDAIN for the KDF Community.
2-I personally see this ship as a Hypocritical statement to the KDF community, on top of it being an insult to KDF players.
3-Cryptic keeps complaining about how not enough pople play KDF, well, you had a shot to fix that with the LoR release, but all you gave us was 2 non-T5 BoPs.

Indeed, I own nearly every KDF ship minus the Gorn and a couple of Klingon ships from the C-store, I know many KDF players are in a similar boat and yet other members of the community tell us to buy at least this amount of KDF ships, but many of us have already bought more.
You're spot on, for some odd reason Cryptic at least the people in charge have pushed their personal views into this game, ie their dislike/hate for the Klingons. Which is very unprofessional and extremely damaging to the game. This attitude has driven may players away, first through not putting any more money into the game and then finally leaving. I myself haven't played in over 3 months and probably won't play until next year provided there is something new and unique for the KDF faction.
The Federation faction is boring to me (my own personal opinion) and the Romulans while fun in the short-term are not for me. Everyone has their likes and dislikes and alienating one group is borderline discrimination. It's really sad as STO could be so much better with 3 equally developed and unique factions which really isn't the case. The Romulans didn't even get their only faction and the KDF are still struggling to get some sort of equality in the game while all sort of goodies are being given to the Federation.
Let's hope Cryptic wakes up to themselves before they drive enough of us away (from all factions) to warrant closing the whole darn game down.
Support the Game by Supporting the KDF, equality and uniqueness for all factions!
and here is the sad truth...Federation, and Romulan ships bring in the money
Oh i do remember what i post, don't get things twisted pro-fed, u can't even tell a Tier 5 ''C-Store'' ship from a ''Fleet'' ship to begin with...
and here is the sad truth... u can't bring money to a faction if the Dev's neglected it's end game devolopement content to begin with, and we'll see how the Rom faction popularity gonna be this time next year since they're nothing but a puppet faction, the only reason they're making money is just because they're bring something new which is now showing signs of strain, like when it's lastest Tier 5 tactical warbird did not sell well, they made it to a tactical carrier warbird... nice to see Cryptic can and will change ship stats when they see fit.
I wasn't able to see any alternate screenshots on Twitter.
She looks pretty good. I like the saucer at this angle. She's a little blocky for my tastes, hopefully the parts will be interchangeable with the Regent and actually fit. On that subject, people talking about set bonuses, if it is closely related to the Regent, perhaps a set bonus will be added to the Wide Angle Quantum? Hmmm...
It looks to me like a new smaller variation of the Regent and would have nothing to do with the Oddy.
Thank you. It's clearly very closely related to the Regent. That said, I would again appreciate if the parts are interchangeable with the Regent.
Looking at the Avenger the Bussard collectors look a little bit off to me from that angle. Am I seeing things are do they look more like large phaser emitters than standard Starfleet Hydrogen vacuums?
