I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
The KDF swims in Dil. so even if the actual missions never pop they do not lack DIl.
It has always been easy to get dilthium on the KDF side - no true KDF player would deny that or they would be called out as a liar. Dilthium is now very easy to get on boths sides. That is not the problem - the problem is there is nothing in the C-store that has a lot of attraction or that may players don't already have - but they have increase the dilthium requirements for weapons/consoles/gear - 10 fold combared to season 6
Without any offsetting Zen sinks this decline can only be stopped after most people are geared out and through the rep system.
Then who knows - maybe they will be like a true chinese MMO which charges per minute of play- so they will charge players 10 dilthium per min? So you have to grind just to be able to play!! or grind just for the privilage of grinding:eek:

yeah, but in all the years of the existence of this game i did get to play The Big Dig twice!!! on the KDF side, of which one ended with failure and the second one with disconnect, reconnect and me being beamed out cause out of grp - 2 minutes before the group of 4 finished. They even gave me some loot afterwards cause they felt so sry about me...

please do not bring Cryptic these bad ideas
in the moment they will do this, im out and gone.
what they have to do is FINALLY WORK on SOMETHING worthwhile!
they have given us sinks, and they hoped we would indefinitely buy lockboxes to get ships, but i see the market is pretty saturated and there are almost as many Lockbox ships around as normal ships.
So another lockbox won't save the situation. LOBI store is overpriced, so people just do not really get into it.
They need to hire more modellers and give us consumables into Zen Store - haircuts, Off-Duty Clothing (not wearable on a mission, just when docked), pets, customizable ship interior... you know the stuff people would spend Zen on.
Even if they sell them for 500 Zen as one toon unlocks.
A small hint - the best Zen medicine would be a new faction (Romulans)
Dill on 93 now
sollvax - i just do not understand what do you have against speculation (i am not doing it as i am also feeding a fleet)
the prices were in the same numbers in the beginnings of the CP/Dill exchange introduction and increased after lockboxes came in. I do honestly think that 90-110 is the accurate value of a Zen point.

The market is only saturated with lockbox ships if you only consider the fed mirror sci ships. If the market were saturated, the lockbox ships wouldn't be completely inaccessible to people on pure silver accounts (10M EC limit means you can't even buy a Tuffli).
I have just watched real world speculators smash the economies of entire nations
I saw another game (im not supposed to mention here) go to hell because of speculators and fraud
I do not like to see people bullied into spending their pension , pocket money or social security to keep up with people like me on the dilith donations to the fleets
I CAN afford to spend the cash
but I feel all im doing if i do so is helping the speculators steal from the pocket money players
Full maco armour (for Boffs) Zen purchase
Full HKG armour (for Boffs) Zen purchase
antiborg shotgun (solid state weapon no adaption MASSIVE damage on borg) Zen purchase
Officers dress sword zen purchase
Non combat pet beagle zen purchase
or
A zen fee for Elite STF plays
A Zen fee for using the Dilith exchange (haha)
maybe a Zen fee for sending a Gm ticket
Leviathan, what you just stated makes perfect sense, since afterall Zen Buyers often tend to open their wallets. There is however; One thing to be noted:
You stated that all Cryptic needs to do is launch more sinks on one side or the other in order to sustain the overall health of the game's economy.
Thats the crux of the matter - for it may be easier to add more sinks from the Dilithium end of things than to create things for the Zen market.
Simple. Legendary Fleet Weapons. Cost 10k Fleet Marks and 1 $5 "Fleet Weapons Module." Have a 5th modifier. Do 5% more damage than Elites.
Or Elite Quality Bridge Officers with 4 Superior Traits, one of which is space based for 500 ZEN and 20k Fleet Credits. Maybe additional options based on things like rep.
It's not NO work and too fast can create power creep but there are plenty of things they could add that require virtually no art or testing.
IF they want dilithium at a different price.
And without a dramatic drop in volume of transactions, it serves the game best for dilithium to be as expensive as possible relative to ZEN.
If it can hit 25 dil per ZEN without hurting Cryptic's financials, I think they would want that. If it does hurt they're financials, they'll create ZEN sinks to balance it. If they aren't creating ZEN sinks, it means the current exchange isn't hurting the game.

already ingame: these are the fleet weapons
they now closed the possibility to easily obtain (Borg) weapons and you as a new player will have to grind for it. Also, a full set of MK XII costs more than 120k Dill. So a new player without loads of EC's will try to BUY these first.
i don't think it should be easier to BUY stuff than PLAY for stuff, because that would be totally P2W and we don't like it, do we?

- you very much hit the spot here.
IMHO the current exchange IS WHAT THEY WANT, and the whole S6 and S7 changes were dedicated to it. We pretty much gave them plenty of ideas how to change the situation and there was not ONE dev comment here, so i suppose they are just OK with it.
SOLLVAX - the manipulation of market is easier on small markets. How many players does STO have?

What's the most reviewed UGC mission? Fudge in a co-efficient for ratio of players who use UGC and another for the inverse of the average number of characters players who play UGC, play UGC with on have (hard sentence...).
Actually market manipulation is easiest in unregulated markets regardless of size
you will always get "casual" speculators following the trend
this is why governments clamp down on speculation
incidentally at 25 you lose all the zen (as its no longer worth having a sub at all )
For the love of God, I wish you'd stop posting such paranoid twaddle. It's not a conspiracy, it's extremely obvious why the market has crashed and all the sensible people have pointed it out a hundred times in this thread and in multiple threads around the forums.
Increasing the number of sinks, without increasing the amount we can gain and refine, or providing new C-Store content to off set the pricing, has caused Dil sellers to want more bang for their buck. Simple as. No conspiracies involved, just standard economics and Human nature at work.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!
Human nature is a conspiracy
We as a species agree to be wrong on mass
and to do things no individual would consider acceptable
and paranoid only applys if there is no threat
its paranoid to believe that the moomin trolls are behind global warming
its not paranoid to believe that there is a risk of terrorist attack in central belfast
Economics is a "consensual paragram" according to some authorities on it
put another way we Agree that small metal disks and bits of paper/plastic have value
we agree some have more value than others
which is worth more a Lb of Gold or a Lb of fresh fish??
depends where you are

I have the fish, thankyouverymuch. I'll take some more gold... Stays fresh longer.
Price drop of dilithium allows players to convert dilithium into zen at a less rate. me too also convert dilithuim into zen, saving it for tier 5 ships
Awesome if you are sitting upon mountains of Dilithium and need all the Zen in the world.
Nothing to worry about. It is an economy, just like any other. Eventually, people will stop paying cash for Zen because they will see it easier to trade dilithium for it. When enough people do that, the supply will shrink, demand will outnumber supply and the price will change to a new, higher, equilibrium point. This should happen in less than two months, tops.

That's not how the economy works. Especially not simulated faucet/drain economies.
The market situation will never reverse unless either:
- Cryptic raises Zen prices.
or
- Zen becomes more usefull/essential than dilithium (again).
There used to be practically nothing to do with Dil. Now it seems like everything needs Dil.
Advanced Fleet weapons cost 10k Dil each at the Fleet ship, so ~70k for a full set.
Very Rare Advanced Scorpion Hangars cost 24k Dil each.
Rare Mk XII Reman Space Set items cost 18k Dil each.
Every one of the individual set items from the Reputation system costs around 15k Dil each.
Fleet projects require massive amounts of Dil.
Everything you purchase with Zen, on the other hand, tend to be inconsistent. Account-wide purchases occur once in an account's lifetime. Each character can only fly one ship at a time, and precious few people would buy multiple Fleet ships.
Massive devaluation of Zen, but they don't care because Dil is restricted to 8k a day. Ugh.
Comments
You won't see a price below 50 because that is the floor set by Cryptic. At that point, it's a no risk trade.
Come join the 44th Fleet.

Stop right there.

Awesome if you are sitting upon mountains of Dilithium and need all the Zen in the world.
As soon as I find something to buy, I will revel in it.
Um... A ship or something?
I'm still willing to keep my 1M+ refined dilithium. There's nothing worth all this in the c-store.
God, lvl 60 CW. 17k.
Want to assist my KDF Fleet Starbase Projects?
