What about those of us who have ordered a lifetime subscription, they took the money out of our accounts but our accounts were not updated as a lifetime account? Guess that means we don't get access to anything right?

Yeah, what is happening with this? I see they have a beta and if you have a key you can participate. From what I've read as a lifer I should be able to play - where are the keys?
I've heard nothing on the beta other than they have keys and they tend to give them out at shows, but as for when, i was under the impression it should have started already but no word yet. Even the NW site is pretty hush hush on feedback from the dev side.
It really does seem kind of odd. I mean, why tell lifers that we're going to get access and then simply not do that? It's disrespectful and poor business. I can't imagine any reputable company doing a thing like that. Cryptic on the other hand... lol just jokes. But seriously it does look like a game worth checking out!

This, and the epic failure of Hellgate: London (which also had the 'lifer' option) is the main driving force behind my personal decision to never invest long-term in any video game. There is no way of knowing if the game itself will even be around long enough for you to reap the benefits of investing hundreds of dollars, or as mentioned above if there will even be support of any kind in the future. The only reason this game is still around is because it's Star Trek, and we as fans love Star Trek. If this was based on anything else, I'd be putting it in the above list next to it's brethren while having this discussion on another MMO forum for some other game.
I love DDO and D&D in general... when I first came to STO I was considering moving from DDO to Neverwinter, because I love Forgotten Realms.
However having played this game and seen how the devs run things I would never give up my DDO / Turbine account to play any D&D game created by Cryptic.
Considering They announced it was originally going to be a late 2012 launch date.

Well it is understandable. They are learning from everything going on here (bad and good) and working to incorporate the working (hopefully good) parts into NWN.
i don't think i got access to whatever this is and ive been a lifer since actual beta brandon, maybe u could explain this to me or have some1 look into it?
So when will STO and Champs LT subs get the NW beta keys they were promised?
Here is a quote from the article about the perk:
We are happy to announce that all Star Trek Online Lifetime Subscribers will be receiving access to the Neverwinter Closed Beta test*. *When this testing phase begins, invites will be doled out to Lifetime Subscribers over the course of the test.
If you are not currently a Lifetime Subscriber and would like to become one, check out this page. Also, we are currently running a sale on Lifetime Subscriptions ($100 off!) that lasts until this Friday, June 29th, at 3:00pm PDT.
Eh... I have loved playing games like this ever since they were in just text since the 80's and 90's. There is just a few things I would have to input on how Cryptic manages its games.
NOT TO MAKE THINGS CHARACTER ONLY.
That issue right there would make me not get into any other game that cryptic would come out with. As the way its being pushed out right now with STO I would never be able to really ever test never winter but I am guessing that is the point pushing out lockboxes of ships and slow down development/push massive grinds on what does come out so that these things like lockboxes and high dilithium tags on reputation systems will keep some people playing while majority of any funds will go into neverwinter.

Curious, BF. What about STO Lifetimers who never got an invite to the Beta?
Some people just don't get mail from Cryptic / PW, even with the settings on and the spam box clean.
I don't think They will start sending those out till next week sometime...
The first Beta Test Period is February 8th to the 10th.

Ahh, the more things change, the more they stay the same...
From Cryptic's PR site -
"To tempt people into shedding some cash up front, Cryptic is prepared to dangle guaranteed beta invites to those who purchase a $60 or $200 pre-order Founder's Pack"
Not confident in your game Cryptic?
Marvels doing the same me things...

Its a said state when you promise a beta key in june 2012 and still have not given them in januari 2013.
Because...the game isn't in beta yet. They never said the beta would be starting right away, or even that year.

Because it was a glorified advertisement for lifetime membership purchases.

For those players that don't want the NW Beta perk, can they trade it in for a Cryptic Pony Non-Combat pet?

what a waste of 200$
Do you even Science Bro?
I get the feeling the entire title is going to be built around forcibly extracting cash from players via c-store stupidity.
