Cool, thanks! Now, why is the link broken? Oh I see... Necro?
Oh, and for the haters - the Foundry is NW, so... yeah. This, to STO players at least, is a sneak peek at the Foundry before they port it back to STO. Considering they are still talking about letting us use the Foundry to layout our ship interiors and possibly starbases, I'm all for getting in on this Beta.

ya by that statement i think i know where all the money sto is makeing and where it is going and if im right its not to sto more like NW
and for the NW Foundry i think of Foundry user like the KDF only a minority play them
So when does the testing phases begin? Were is my perk?
We are happy to announce that all Star Trek Online Lifetime Subscribers will be receiving access to the Neverwinter Closed Beta test*. *When this testing phase begins, invites will be doled out to Lifetime Subscribers over the course of the test.
None that i've seen. I've been playing around on the 3 forums (CO, STO, NW) and there is no mention of it other than "it will happen in stages but we haven't said when yet". Which makes me worry as the guarenteed STO beta kind of screwed a lot of people out of it.
I gather its a LTS perk because they're hoping we dish out for a lifetime to NW. Being that its F2P and I was always more of a trekkie, I know I'm not gonna sub let alone purchase a LTS.
There isn't much difference between what I get or a Gold member
People are upset about a "beta" invite in which will matter little when the game goes live. It's really rather silly.
really people are upset just because of a beta invite, sad, wow. Why be upset about a beta invite that like you said goes away when the game goes live. I dont get it sometimes.

Well that sux. What makes my monthly sub for the past two years of any less value than one time payment.
I'M THE ONE STILL PAYING FOR THE GAME....
Its pretty simple actually. Putting up a big chunk of money up front is more of a sacrifice than paying a little a long the way. If it werent, then everyone would do it.
yeah, as far as i know they haven't even started sending them out, although from experience, just because you're guarenteed an invite doesn't mean that you're guarenteed to get one until the very last minute. It sucks and is shady, but they do it to numerous people, so all you can do is wait and hope you get lucky. I'm half surprised they did it as a lifer perk and not as the big reward of a lock box.

That's exactly how I feel. I'm happy we get to be part of the Beta and try everything out before it's released to the public, but, being that I'm more a Trekkie than a D&Der, I'm content with playing Neverwinter as the F2P model without having to pay extra for a sub or an LTS.
Having watched STO from the sideline since it's initial launch, playing since f2p, and paying my sub as im able, I can't say that I have not considered the LTS. I considered it heavily when I started playing and decided I would wait and see how things turned out over the first 6 months or so. Six months came and went 3 months ago and I didn't do the LTS and probably won't. However if at such a time there comes a perk pack for LTS that includes "Devs who fix well documented problems", "Non-BS responses to bugs and an ETA on actual working (and tested fixes)", and "Support tickets no longer go ignored"...
Well I'd be right there to shell out the $300. Until such a perk pack comes along I can't justify spending that kind of money on something that may very well self destruct before that LTS has paid for itself due to people not caring enough to fix the things that are broken.

I bought the LTS the first day it was available and it has paid for itself for quite some time now.

I was like you. I was a Gold player. But after looking at this Lifetime offer, i just come to realize that it is no different than paying upfront for a 13 months Gold subcription.
The only question you need to ask yourself is, do you think you will still be playing STO in the next 12 months. If yes, then go for the Lifesub and enjoy all the goodies as soon as tomorrow morning!
The only risk we are taking is that if STO gets shut down within the next 12 months, then we lose money. Other than that, it is GARANTEED win situation if you are already a Gold subscriber. Go Lifetime, get a ship, get tokens, get respecs, get character and ship slots.

Meh I don't mind. The only fantasy game I enjoy are The Elder Scroll ones. I highly doubt I will play this one for more than a week, considering the fact that Cryptic loves very scripted ways to play games - somehting I only accept for the Star Trek franchise because it's something I love.

If you pay a lifetime and get lifetime of champions online as bonus, is a great perk.
But if you pay a lot of money to become a lifetime and get a beta of another game, this is not a perk, is just a excuse to promote other game.
Sorry, but being a lifetime, you need to get something more useful or cool to collect ingame.

I bought a bike for 189GBP I'm going to get a lot more use out of that then spending that amount on an online game
50GBP is the limit of what I will pay for any game what cryptic charge is just greed.
If not, I think that sux and is rather unfair.
Is being a gold subscriber the same thing as buying a LT sub? Survey says...
No.
Well that sux. What makes my monthly sub for the past two years of any less value than one time payment.
I'M THE ONE STILL PAYING FOR THE GAME....
I just spent $400 in the past two weeks on this game, neither of us are more entitled.
The title says LIFETIME. So no, subscribers do not get access.
And really it isn't unfair, life timers have very few perks compared to Golds. Being a lifer is not very different from being a Gold.
well if you dont want to still pay for the game, then get a lifetime sub then, i know i will first chance i get.
