I am a returning member that has been here since day 1. I am wondering why the fleet actions have been locked up by a failed Q system. They should be open and allow us to go in and out as before. I will be leaving again at the end of this month and going to another game. Please fix it back!

When are you going to update the starship page on Star Trek Online.

To include the KDF and the newly added starship variantes of Starfleet ??

I think Captlogan should do it. He would do it justice.

Espically if he made the starship data files like they came for a KDF or Starfleet database.

    1. Can I get more sound FXs? For example, foot-step sounds for characters, engine sounds for ships in pilot view so I can hear a ship as it fly passes me, more ambient sounds for planet surfaces (some planets on exploration missions are rather quiet), crew chatter and intercom in ship interior etc..

    2. Can I get new ground weapons or revamp of the existing ground weapons? I would like to see the existing energy types to be revamped or reskined into something resembling real weapons that requires ammos.

    3. Can I get more buttons for commanding my away team? For example, a stop & stay button, a few formations button (line, column, wedge, diamond etc.), stance buttons etc..

    4. Can I get ship interior revamp and working view screen on the bridge? I would like to see ship interiors be made more detailed, especially the LCARS (some look a bit stretched out or distorted). As for the view screen, I'd like to see on it at least an animated starfield image that depicts warp travel.

    5. Can I get voice overs for my main character as well as for my boffs? I'd like to be able to pick from a list of preset voice overs at character customization and hear my character issuing common orders while on missions, such as go to red alert, fire torpedos, engage warp drive, go to impulse, beam me up etc..

    6. Can we get dialog options to interact with our boffs as well as ship's crew? For example, we can ask if they are happy with their life on board, if they are getting along well with the others, if they are happy with their current assignment , and if they like the food etc..

    7. Can i get a button to go to red alert or come out of it as i please? For immersion reasons, I'd like to be able to call the shot and go to red alert with my command, same goes for standing down red alert.

    8. Can i get a smaller or less intrusive popup dialog window while on misssions? For example, something that only includes a small size NPC portrait along with dialog in a transparent chat bubble.

    9. Lastly, can i be able to pick however many or few away team members to go with me on away missions? For example, if i want i should be able to beam down to a planet on my own or take my whole list of boffs with me, and if i want i should also be able to beam down additional boffs or send back up the ones i don't want.

    Thanks for reading :)

Will there ever be a time when each "faction" is limited to canon specific weapon types? Such as the Klingons, Federation, and Romulan only equipping Disruptor, Romulan Plasma Disruptor and Phaser type weapons. I think this would add more to the game. Thanks.

Don't need cryptic to answer this one.

    A. You already have the ability to limit yourself to a faction specific style of weapon, though not everyone prefers to play that way, so if you wanna RP, head on over to DS9 or Starfleet Academy where all the soap opera-ish, feverish fingers are at work. Be careful though if you have a female character, as every male character in those areas will likely flock to ya and try to RP your hand in marriage. Trust me, I've witnessed it happening several times... it's creepy and funny all at once.

(By the way folks, Dan will get us an Ask Cryptic, but it will take a few more days. Season 4 was a biggie and we're all still working on recouping. Until then, we'll leave this open so that some more questions can be asked to chose from!

Thanks so much for your patience. :) )

Why can't we visit Veridian III to pay our respects to one of Starfleet's greatest Captains? Don't forget, Captain Kirk is buried on a mountain-top on Veridian III, which seems fitting given that it was where he did his last heroic act, by saving the Enterprise-D's crew and the entire population of the entire Veridian solar system.

I don't know the full canon on this but from a human perspective Kirk would have not been left in that makeshift rock grave on Veridian III imo.

He's bound to have a memorial on Earth and a resting place in Iowa somewhere. That's just what happens to 'great' people.

What are is the status of leaderboards? I have heard of several ideas being pushed around and listed on the engineering reports but I wanted to learn the specifics of the planned designs? Will these be placed/viewable on everyone's ship or at the Captain table, ESD, Qonos etc. at a terminal?

    What will the boards track?
    Borg Leaderboards?
    - # of borg kills? DSEs completed?
Accolade Leaderboards? Display individual score above your head?
    - a database of every captain's accolade score?
    PVP leaderboards?
    - stats tracked? Damage, wins, kills, deaths, healing, number of dailies completed?

Please feature this question; I have never had a question selected.

In the Voyage episode "The Omega Directive" 7 of 9, at the end, found a way to stabalize this ultra-powerful particle. In the last forty years Starfleet as certaintly built upon that. Any chance of seeing the Omega particle make an appearance. Says as a new type of impulse engine or console? I could see it as a new console type that functions as an Emergency power to all subsystems.

Season 4 has seen the introdcution of numerous new bugs and glitches into game, causing endless frustration amongst the playing community. it seem this happens with all major updates.... what is cryptic doing to address these issues and will you move away from major updates to a system where you release the content / updates as they are ready instead of one large patch.

star trek series have always had ship in a bottle episodes. what are you and the dev team planning to do so this kind of mission/episode can take place in sto?

Is it hard or what makes it hard to get completely new kdf content into the game. IE custom Klingon turrets, drones, clothing & weapons?

The Organians, in a sense, got the ball rolling on Federation-Klingon relations.
The Undine (or, in a larger sense, Iconians) wrecked those plans.
Intelligent societies hate having their intricate plots ruined.

Following this logic, is there any chance Ayelbourne will be superheating our bridge consoles anytime soon?

It's been said many times before that the various developers at Cryptic work on different aspects. That development on some gameplay mechanic or C-Store item should not significantly affect content designers' work schedules. Given the long content content drought leading up to season 4, some decision was made to put featured episodes on hold for a while (be it season 4 development, Perfect World sale, foundry updates, whatever).

I'm not criticising the fact that a management/resource decision was made to put the featured episodes' production on hold, obviously there was a good reason for it. Regardless of the underlying reasons why the drought has occurred, tensions/tempers have risen in the STO community, perhaps unfairly.

My question is, are there any plans on your side with regards to resource/personel management to better shield the content creators' production of featured episodes from the development of Season 5/6/7/8, such that even if gameplay and engine mechanics are being overhauled, delays of featured episode releases can be mitigated?

Also, I just want to acknowledge just how great and open the Cryptic development team is; there seriously are no other big-name teams out there that interact with their community quite like you guys!

Is there anything planned or on the drawing board that will allow those of us at end-game to make use of our ship inventories which are full of obsolete ships?

Could it be possible for us to create our own Ground attack pattern for our BOFF's?

For example, as of right now when i click to tell all 4 BoFF's (as a group) to stand over there they do so in a diamond shape pattern. If i wanted to change that pattern i would have to do so individually which wastes time doing so. Having preset saved patterns would be easier to finish ground missions..

Anyway we could create our own preset patterns where
Preset 1-- has them stand straight across one row so many meters apart
    Preset 2-- has them stand 2 x 2 row or 3 x 1
Preset 3-- has them stand in a spread out formation to surround the enemy

    Hopefully you get my idea..

    Thanks

    Doc

In space our ships help to smear the line of our captains career, allowing a tac in a fleet escort for example to heal themselves and others a little bit. Has any thought been given to the notion of making kits so they can allow us to hybridize on the ground a little as well?

Will we ever get a Captain on our ships when we reach Admiral rank?
I know our Admirals are the 'acting' Captains, but when Admiral Kirk was on the NCC-1701, the ship was commanded by Captain Spock.

Also are our Admirals counted as flag officers? If so , then as flag officers will we ever be able to design a flag and display it in our cabin?

We have a number of star ships on our roster, ones we have out levelled. I have a few thoughts for how they could be utilised
    1. Could we have those ships manned by our Boffs or Doffs and answerable to the admiral in charge (i.e. us). So we can have up to 4 of them supporting us on space combat missions with or without team mates? Effectively becoming ship equivalent in space of the Boffs we have on ground?
    2. Maybe We could allocate runabouts, delta flyers and shuttles as CSP (combat space patrols) to protect our captal ships from enemy fighters, mines or heavy torpedoes. (The opposite of boarding party).
    3. With our small division of ships we could allocate them as per their type (Anti cloak, healer etc) this would then give us a feeling of actually being an Admiral in charge of a small fleet of ships. The NPC captain could be in charge of the ship we are on whilst we organise (and order about) all the ships in the division - including the one we are on.

What about an option where when we change physical aspects of our toons (such as the head and body) we have an apply to all button so it can make the changes to all the costumes you have... I am still constantly touching up my alien character and it's a pain going through and updating each costume one by one.

yea but i dont want that all my Captain look the same but all my Bridge and other Crewmembers should have the same Uniform but in 3 diff. colors ... for Sci, Tac and Eng.

i could switch them from different to all the same whould be nice ... with 6 buttons and not like now were i have to select each and change each one by one

    Dear Mr. Stalhl,

Will we be able to switch from sector space to our bridge (and vice-versa) without beaming in? Clearly, I should already be on my ship. Otherwise, where was I before? Oh, the existential angst this is creating!

In all seriousness, just switching to the bridge map, with me in the captain's chair, would be simply brilliant.

Better still would be a heroic camera pan over the bridge, with me in the captain's chair, looking like I belong there.

My fantasy would be to switch from the space map to the bridge the way it was done on the first episode of TOS - a cutaway of the bridge from space, zoomed in to reveal the captain and bridge crew.

Thank you in advance for your time and for your consideration.

    EB

I think it would fantastic if these Star Trek fans that are developing a game for us and with us that we all love, would make more Trek-inspired excuses. "It will be here ... on Tuesday," "I'm givin' her all she's got!!" "I canna change the laws of physics," "It will take a week, but you don't have a week, so lets see what we can do." Scotty and so many others in the show made Treknological excuses for so many leaps of faith.

Lets see what some of the more active community members can come up with, maybe even a Dev will pop in with a funny quip!!

Whiles I agree that this would be an AWESOME ship part to have. According to Janeway omega research is classified. And the orders are to destroy it where it is found. All records of the research would have most likely been purged from the ship's data base. And while Seven would have the information still, chances are due to star fleet's directive on it, under watch to ensure she did not attempt to recreate it.

The most I could see done would be a mission or series of missions to stop the production of Omega. But no omega impulse engines. Good idea though. An omega warp core would be AWESOME, As the Molecule generates power it would be more useful as a fuel source.
