Will we ever see more launching support craft like the scorpion fighter or perhaps gain a power similar to boarding party to where we could launch shuttles to protect our ship from incoming mines, heavy torpedos, or other craft.
Will we be seeing anymore powers for bridge officers especially ensigns, commanding a retrofitted exploration cruiser i can only transfer emergency power to some many things.
What is the purpose of the Department Head System will our officers be receiving new powers according to their post or will they inherit a power derived from the duty officers working under them.
If there is work being done on Romulans as a third faction, then is it possible that they could move the Orions and Ferengi into their own Faction to make four factions?
Traditionally, these factions have been neutral in Star Trek. It may be interesting to have a neutral faction in the game.
-Will there ever be a time when all missions scale to your character's level?
Early missions are trivially easy to go back and redo with a high level character since the enemies are capped at ranks like lt or lt cmdr which makes them much less fun to do.
in the graphic novel countdown (not fan fiction) B4 as data is the captain of the enterprise-e, according to road to 2409 i think the e dissapeared with all hands (inc captain data)
I know this is off topic to debate this here, but (in short):
Changing B4 to (well a sort of) Data is one of the absolute no-go's Orci & Kurtzman did in their Countdown story:mad:.
If there is something to say about Soong type androids than its the fact that they all are noninterchangeable individuals due to their positronic brain.
- Lal was Lal. That's what killed her.
- Juliana Tainer still is Juliana Tainer.
- Lore was Lore. He didn't change his 'Lorenes' although Data tried everything to do so. In fact thats why Data had to shut him down.
- Data was Data was Data! Now he's - well - as dead as an android can be. Best you can say is, he's missing.
- B4 is B4 is B4! Even with Data's memory encryptions, he may become 'smarter' due to updates (or due to a implemented evolution of his positronic brain), but he never will become Data. How can he - he's a prototype. Try running a Win 7 game on Win NT, can you? .;)
So its really B4 and not Data who is the captain of the Enterprise E!
If we want Data (!) back, we have to search him in the remains of the Scimitar. Thats were Data is!
BTW (to be on topic again:)) Wouldn't this (=the search for Data and B4) be a great plot for a future Featured Episode?! (That could be done to introduce androids as BO's/ characters and to soothe some of the TNG inconsistencies 'Nemesis' and J.J.'s 'Star Trek' left)
Are there plans to improve the MMO feel to STO? By this I mean open PVP zones on both ground and (in particular) space?
I love the game but 95% of it (if not more) is either solo or group PVE. We are suppose to be at "war" after all. I feel this would improve the game by giving fleets a reason to group up more besides STF's, it would also aid in the over all feel of being in a living world. The orderly fashion in which we have to wait for pvp space and ground maps doesn't really make one feel like they are in a war, or out numbered or stalking their enemies. Also would give the Klingon factions a better means to play their game as a true pvp faction.
If you guys could not worry about "hair tech" for a few months and work on that I would be thrilled lol
Will there ever be a time when each "faction" is limited to canon specific weapon types? Such as the Klingons, Federation, and Romulan only equipping Disruptor, Romulan Plasma Disruptor and Phaser type weapons. I think this would add more to the game. Thanks.
Who are you to decide who uses what kind of weapon? Do you want to spoil everything in this game for everyone? I want to use Polarons on my Escort whenever i see fit.
When the sector walls are brought down will the technology be applied to systems for examples having an entire sol system that could be explored.
Also another question as I just watched both parts of Best of Both Worlds... Why is SOL System called that? In both those TNG episodes it is called the Terran System
1- Is it possible to have the Log Out feature drop you into the Character Selection screen instead of the Log In screen. Presumably you've already logged onto your account; it shouldn't be necessary to re-log to switch chars.
2- You guys really need to put Diplomatic missions either on the mission log or give Diplo it's own mission log. I was given my 1st "First Contact" mission. It is not on my mission log. As I remember my instructions from the Diplomat who gave me the mission (whose name escapes me now), I went to the correct system and did not have a "button" on the right hand side of the screen. I have no way of knowing if I'm in the wrong place or if this is a bug simply because this mission is not documented in game on any screen. Really BAD BAD BAD programming IMHO.
3- I know I said this b4 in this same thread, but it is a really annoying issue; Give us the ability to block Fleet invites. I play to kill stuff and socialize with RL Friends. It is a bother and very frustrating to constantly keep closing unsolicited fleet invitations.
Will we ever see the ability to craft consoles that have the same abilities as the tier 5 ships (Such as a Spinal Phaser Lance Console, or a MVAM Console) that can be fitted on ANY ship?
When are we going to get some awesome gravity boot action? Maybe something in a combination of the Undiscovered Country and First Contact, where you stomp around the outside of a crippled ship looking for a way in, and then navigate a zero-G environment?
Also another question as I just watched both parts of Best of Both Worlds... Why is SOL System called that? In both those TNG episodes it is called the Terran System
I believe Sol is the Latin name for our sun, and Terra is the same for Earth so either one could be used depending on the context... I think in Best of Both Worlds the might have chose to use Terran System to bring the point home more that it was heading for Earth specifically... not mars, or any of the other planets in our solar system.
I second the going back to the character selection screen to change toons instead of having to log back in again.

As for character selection for when you log out, it is a security feature. If (for some reason) you had to suddenly leave your computer and not shut down STO, the game will time you out back to the log in screen. This is to prevent someone from coming along (while you are still logged in) and griefing or accidently "damaging" your character/account.
Are we going to see the Jellyfish designed by Geordi La Forge?
It was in the Timeline article around the year 2387
The Daystrom Institute has announced the successful launch of the "Jellyfish," an experimental spacecraft equipped with trans-metaphasic shielding designed to withstand conditions that would destroy most other ships.

Seconded! That really would be awesome!!
And what about the Aeroshuttle as a 600 day veteran reward?
3. Security Escort III?
Instead of beaming in a two person security detail when called, how about letting us set two from our crew to beam down instead? It could be done on a pull down menu like the Away Team selection.
4. Six spots on the Transporter pad!
Any chance we could expand the landing party size from five to six?
Thought I might add a few more questions before the thread gets closed
Are there any plans to allow UI mods for the game, or at the very least, give players greater options for modifying thier UI.
Will Fleet action leader boards be re-added to the end of matches? (Since the FA queues were added the leaderboards have been removed)
Could we get the patch notes readded to the games launcher so we can see whats been patched without having to open a web browser
Are there any plans to add a 'raid' interface to the game, so that when fleets to FA's they can see the members of all the groups on thier side, instead of just thier group.
This thread is pretty huge now, so not sure if any of these will be answered, but you never know :-)
For a long time now, there has been mentions of a V'ger Special task force (STF). In recent months there has been talk of a weekly series. I was wondering:
Will this ever be in the game?
Will it be like how V'Ger was in Star Trek The Motion Picture (ST:TMP) (My favorite of all the movies).
One of the main problems of V'Ger was that it was 82 AU's in diameter, and it was impossible to combat. The crew had to find a non-combat solution.
Will V'Ger in this game be more like a STF where it is a difficult combat problem or will it be like the movies where combat was certain death?
Also, will this include C-Store versions of the Enterprise interior for the bridge, crew deck, and engineering deck? ( I would really love to have the bridge from TMP).

Ah that is a good point, I didnt look at it that way.

That thread is 62 pages now.
Another person pointed out that the console power on the T2 Rhode Island is effectively "pay to win". I agree with that assertion.
I could have sworn that I read in an ER or AC that that the developers where working on T5 Nova refit.
My question is how was the decision about the Rhode Island class reached and why? What does this mean for future ship releases.
