use the Bittorrent method http://bittorrent.com its a small DL and a fast install. it may take a litttle bit longer, but you shouldnt have the errors, with bittorrent you go at your own pace too. and if your internet breaks up you dont lose any progress or anything like that.

this sounds like a networking error. you firewall is probably blocking it. put type/make and model of your router, your anti-virus/firewall information up and ill give you a walk through on how to unblock it.
