You are pointing him back to a guide that was last edited back when he played the game. I don't think that was quite what he was looking for. As another former player looking at possibly logging back in, I can assure you it isn't what I was looking for as it just says how we used to play archer. Presumably all these new…

Or, you can have a name that means something in your primary language, but also sounds like a real name - win/win/profit!

Wish granted, Kephras. Zoom that chart out to the year level and check the box to add the comparison to the rest of the NASDAQ. The company has been substantially underperforming the market for almost the whole calendar year. Daily fluctuations (particularly without netting out changes in the market overall) are pretty…

The force is strong in this one Ayano-Wan.

You liked Battle of Immortals? Does it get more coherent after the first 20 levels cause I found it a frenetic mess for the time I tried it. The "suggestions" of cash shop items I should be using as a portion of my inventory bag also really drove home what I don't like about the publisher. Waffles, all I can give you is…

BM the worst at low levels? That can't be right. Wizzy was positively dreadful. But, the worst by far for me was my baby barb. Of course, that was back when the server was relatively young and all the barb starter areas were full of venos who did not know how (or did not care) to keep their pets from KSing to the point of…

Let's be clear about this. Perfect World Entertainment is the company running PWI - hiring GMs, administering the servers, and making a modicum of localization decisions. If they were a separate entity licensing the code, your point might have a sliver of relevance (although anyone licensing the fundamental code of their…

Been there. Done that. It wasn't as much fun as the leader of our little band made it sound before we did it.

Interchange fees and the other taxes on the economy (and implicit cross-subsidies) imposed by credit card processors happens to be a subject near and dear to my heart. However, I failed to follow this argument. It almost sounds like the old "You don't want to make so much money that you get pushed into a higher tax…

How much economics have you taken? You've graphed the supply response which would be, at most, second order and likely dominated by the income effect (fewer people selling gold because they have reacted to the increased difficulty of playing without real life cash by... not playing). You did not, oddly, graph the initial…

Or, hide behind walls. Hmm, seems there are an awful lot of walls in SP. I guess those old-school PK archers who used to love hiding in SP (sarendena, for example) must have just been doing it for the extra challenge...? Was it a bot every time? I distinctly recall having an exchange of taunts with you right before one…

The real poll we need: Is this the Worst Idea Ever (i.e., is it even worse than the perpetual packs)? I vote yes.

I really hate getting the pet, not being able to assist attack on it, clicking through to the veno, and finding she has the enormous pet targetted for heals. Hmmm, you ARE a tideborn. Did you ever notice how close some of those cheap teleport spots in the northern tideborn areas are to Dreamweaver? I consider this the best…

Really? Cool. Edit: And, apparently, that filter gets applied to quotes too.

This should have worked fine if the barb was in the bubble and hitting some of his cancels. I guess it is possible he was not in it, but suspect the real problem was he wasn't doing enough to keep himself alive. To be sure in the future, just focus on setting up the bubble close to the barb. Usually archers and any other…

What's great about archers is that if you commit to "The best defense is a good offense." you can really make that work for you as an archer (with the exception of high-level PvP). The only other class I've found this to be true for is psychic.
-
Sure. Let's make everything equal. Any attack that can crit ought to also have a risk of being dodged. And, archers should get the crazy levels of evasion per dex that BMs get.
-
Don't forget, "Are you starting your attacks from maximum range?" I'm always amazed how many of the people who die a lot or who spam skills don't think of this.
-
You forgot the comic relief role. Archer has ultimate responsibility for generating laughs at inappropriate moments. It is seriously tough job.... critical for survival of party. Oh, and math. Archers gotta do all the math, too.
-
They are talking about these quests. Yes, these quests will rocket you through the 40s and give you a load of coin as well.

The closest fit I can find is a pretty good fit(within 1% on each of the observations), but still not perfect: [Damage] = [Damage Dealt] * (1 + [Attack Level]/100) * (.99^[Defense Level]) with Defense Level truncated. If the code truncates Defense, it probably also truncates Attack, but we only have round number…

Now, I consider myself something of a collector of good puns (I'm masochistic that way, I guess). You made me read through the whole thread a second time looking for this elusive beast. If there was a pun, that would be more interesting than the fact that GMs are proving to actually do their jobs occasionally. But, alas…

These data look like a pretty good fit to an exponential curve. Cyanea's theory 3: damage = damage dealt * 1.01^(A-D) is looking like a much stronger explanation as we see the curvature at extreme values.

If the choice is between having the blessings and a squad of 6 or no blessings and a squad of 10, I think the prediction should be the game is getting even easier not harder. As an archer, I'm now seriously concerned whether I will even be able to target anything in instances (a) because there will be so many friendlies…

If you are ruling out the clerics grinding poison mobs as not general enough, then you have to discount the axe BMs for the fact their miraculous AOE grind only works on melee attack mobs. A BM doing his little dance in the middle of a circle of ranged magic mobs is a soon-to-be-dead BM. So, this contest is tilted in favor…

Bob provided information which is just as important as eggs and milk. You would have him give that away for free when you accuse him of "shielding" the other market participants from his knowledge. Solandri is correct that making market information more readily available would cut into the margins for merchants and make…

Honestly, I could spend my money like that. I make enough. But, why would I want to? I could, instead, just get turned off on playing a game intent on hooking me with an expensive addiction and .... move on. I'll hazard the guess that PWE knows this is the problem with the current imbalance between cash-rich and labor-rich…

The key to successful merchanting is information. Yes, if you already know what things are worth (long term or relative to other items and short term due to specials), it is relatively quick and easy to find deals, set up a cat shop, invest in goods and sell patience/convenience to the population.... What the OP is…

Elena is only Teapot in your fantasies, Qui. Which, come to think of it, means you have a thing for her brother (ick - erase that thought - ouch - too much gender confusion). I do agree that it makes sense in the STA example that the damage and agro counters are incremented in the same subroutine and, if it proves true…

There are a lot of leaps of faith in that last post's logical chain. Is that Elena or Teapot?
