  • Well, I was thinking of coming back to NWO to try out the new Ranger class, but it looks like: 1) there is still no penalty for leaving, 2) no separate queue for pre-made/ pugs 3) OP enchants still destroying play at level cap 4) Culture of pvp baddies who think it is fine to leave if losing the match and "queue surf" for…
  • This has been discussed many times and I heartily agree with you. A mild penalty like in other mmos (15 mins unable to queue for anything-including dungeons, skirms) seems the way to go, but I like your idea of also increasing the number of games to complete AD dailies. This could encourage afkers though, so that should be…
  • I totally agree. One of the reasons they haven't done it though could be that many in the community disagree with you and think it is great that you can just leave your whole party in the lurch on a whim with absolutely no consequence.
  • I was being sarcastic. You made a very nice statement. It was level heading, positive, filled with no malice toward anyone and just communicated your love of the game and pvp. I wanted to contrast that against the ranting and raving of the first 5 or so posters who basically said pvpers are really horrible etc.
  • Don't worry , embracemyarse has been crying for rogues to be nerfed since day 1. He was oh so smug when the supposedly OP'd "perma-stealth" build got a nerf, but he is butthurt because he still gets beaten even after rogues have been nerfed, and nerfed, and nerfed.
  • Its always funny to see how the pvp-haters come out in these types of threads, ranting and raving about how pvp and pvpers are so bad and how most of the complaints are from "pvpers". Scroll down past the initial burst of rage from the lovely pvers and you'll see just how terrible the pvpers are, posting outrageous stuff…
  • I think the elephant must have stepped on your head. Players basically abuse the leaving system, leaving for reasons such as: Check team gear-if low leave Player runs to mid while 4 others go close base- leave Player is cleric and doesn't get HAMSTER licked by team- leave Player doesn't like name of someone on team- leave…
  • It will stop people for quitting for trivial reasons, and make them more likely to try and get a win if down. It will also discourage people from leaving to surf queues for a winning team to get points/ad/daily or whatever quicker since it will be more effective to stay in game even if on a weak team. This is why most…
  • I'm not saying that the huge gear differences in the game are good. I would prefer totally normalized gear with some options for horizontal progression or cosmetic rewards and a ladder. All I am saying is that the existence of gear differences in the game is not a good reason for letting people leave pvp matches with no…
  • Most people leave because there is no disincentive not to, and when they get butt-hurt which is bound to happen as the very nature of pvp is that you are going to get your HAMSTER handed to you from time to time, it is all to easy to leave and in fact its often the most logical thing to do in the current setup. Btw what…
  • There is only pvp in D&D, its players vs the dungeon master. Unless your DM was a robot or something??
  • This is exactly why players should have to win the match to get credit for the daily.
  • That is just one reason out of many, and while it may be the prime excuse for you quitting and leaving the rest of your team in the lurch, there are any number of excuses for leaving because there is no consequence for leaving- in fact leaving is more often than not the most logical choice. That is a sad state for a game…
  • Your logic is ridiculously faulty here is why. Just a few of the reasons for people leaving: Check team gear-if low leave Player runs to mid while 4 others go close base- leave Player is cleric and doesn't get HAMSTER licked by team- leave Player doesn't like name of someone on team- leave Player feels like trolling rest…
  • I don't like quiters/afkers either, but this is the game's mechanic- leave pvp with no consequence and no rebalancing system; as long as that's there enjoy the 2vs5's etc or just leave yourself. I don't see how stopping spawn camping in a game that has gone to 2vs5 makes the game any better-as the game has already been…
  • The way I see it OP, is that casual gamers like playing games. MMO folk like to farm. Just take a couple of quotes from this page: "Getting to level 60 is just the start of the game my friend. Farm the HAMSTER out of dailies, and sell stuff on the AH. I haven't spent a dime yet, and I have around 8-9k AR. Just put in some…
  • I don't really see anything wrong with spawn camping 2vs5. The problem is that the game got to 2vs5 because of how easy it is to leave. Your GW2 model to solve the problem seems fine to me; either that or a penalty for leaving. As it is now I can't see why you would stay if 3 of your team leave. The game's rules…
  • You know, GF is really strong in pvp. Perhaps the most telling thing in your OP though is that you said "Since I'm bored with dailies, I wanted to try and last more than 2 seconds in PVP" (first sentence). You'll be fighting people that only pvp, level just through pvp, and have played many different classes. That first…
  • This actually shows that the classes are well balanced and that the issue with pvp at level cap is related to other issues. Also I am not sure why you would say "of course pre 60 pvp is balanced"; it is amazing that the game has such balanced classes not a matter of course by any means. I just refuse to play pvp at level…
  • The point is, and has always been, to have fun fighting other players. Rewards, such as gear/money, are just the icing on the cake not the underlying motivation. Anyone who is in it just for the AD, just for game "completion", just for the gear etc, is really just a pver. These are all fine reasons to play the pvp game,…
  • BTW, why does everyone seem to assume the nerfs were from a pvp perspective? Do the notes say, we nerfed these skills because they were OP in pvp?
  • They do listen, the player base asked/cried for these nerfs and the nerfs were given.
  • Yes this exactly. I read over and over again players saying they leave because the team is not playing how they think it should. Half the time the poster seems to have little idea of different strategies themselves. They leave a pug with 5 people who may all have a different idea of how to win and justify it with saying…
  • Players leave for a variety of reasons, but because its easy to leave and there are no consequences, some of those reasons can be very petty.
  • Seems a lot more pvpers in this thread..... But I agree, heavily nerfing a class for pvp issues and having the nerf impact pve as well is bad. However, many people were also complaining about rogues being too strong in pve, which is possibly why the nerf was across the board.
  • True, once a leaving penalty is in place it will make staying seem more beneficial so less players will leave.
  • More maps and a new game mode would be pretty amazing.
  • I understand the stupidity at level 60 pvp has to be addressed, however, pre-level cap I have seen clerics outheal 2 or 3 players beating on them, and the pitiful damage a stealth rogue can do (without powerful enchants) is laughable. The issue is not with the build, it is with the damage scaling at level cap. I am sad…
  • You had an even battle with a rogue on your GF yet it is ok that the stealth rogue build gets nerfed to an "utter loss in viability"? Sorry I don't see the logic here.
  • Its the way of the forums, you agree with people on some points and disagree on others. Even the seemingly most illogical person can have good ideas from time to time, even if such ideas appear totally at odds with most other posts he has made. And you have to give him credit- his abuse of the leavers system and crying on…
