I have always only used one computer attached to a modem with no WLAN when playing Neverwinter or accessing Gateway. It's running in non-admin account and web browser (not Chrome) updated and security settings turned on to prevent Java and other scripts. I only visit e-mail and "trusted" websites like official game…
My account was hacked during the last 14-18 hours. I can say with certainty that none of those prevention methods worked. :( I have played really many multiplayer online games during 15 years and this is the first time this happens to me. I never access any suspicious websites, install anything but official games and…
Thank you for the reply. I will try contacting the company through that section. I had been accessing Gateway without typing account and password for a very long time.
If you have Neverwinter Nights 2 and expansions already installed, you can join the MMORPG Baldur's Gate remake very easily by choosing Multiplayer Game and connecting to the game server. When you connect to the Baldur's Gate server, the game will start downloading all the necessary files and patches. It may take a while,…
In terms of payment methods applied to MMORPG games, the Neverwinter Nights game series would be categorised as buy-to-play. The game and its expansions (Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir) have single player campaigns and multiplayer game mode which allows you to play it as an MMORPG game.
As mentioned in the review, I chose BGTSCC to represent NWN 2 because to my knowledge it has the reputation of the biggest and most popular persistent world created for NWN 2. It has a dedicated community, continous influx of new players and game updates, and is often mentioned in communities of other persistent worlds…
Thank you! I decided to write the review because I had never encountered one comparing different options available to D&D community. I hope the review will be useful to D&D fans who are new to the MMORPG genre.
The publisher gets a lot more money if casual players can buy the best gear with zen converted to astral diamonds. If the best gear was BoP, many casual players might not be able to get the gear because of at least three reasons: the elitism of some hardcore players, the inability of many random queue groups to complete…
It is possible to get the best possible gear for 1-3 million astral diamonds depending on the character class but filling that gear with rank 10 enchantments and perfect weapon and armor enchantments costs 50-200 million astral diamonds. Upgrading player character and companion from rank 7 to rank 10 enchantments and…
Ten years ago I accidentally made the following picture. It looks like there is something wrong with the display. It even worked as an April fool prank once. :D
Imagine that an avid D&D fan and collector of D&D stuff buys an exclusive pack, plays through the game with a few characters and leaves. There are always people who play a game like this more like a single player game and they won't care about most of the bugs, exploits and issues with gameplay balance like the people who…
You should consider that some MMO companies are mainly interested in drawing in players only for a certain season. They do not necessarily expect the majority of players to linger around for a whole year in the same MMO game. People arrive, spend money, play the game for a certain period of time and then leave to play…
The question is mostly about D&D fans who have bought the Guardian of the North or Hero of the North founder's packs or who have bought zen. It would be more accurate to call them D&D content collectors. Are there enough of them and how easy would it be to get them excited to buy a new pack again next year? If there is a…
Kwequa seems to imply that the gaming of these enchantment sellers is a very eccentric affair and could not really be defined as gaming in the traditional sense of the word. Indeed, the gaming of these enchantment sellers would appear to be a very tragicomic affair from the viewpoint of traditional gaming, especially if it…
Epic typo! :D Eye of the Beholder 2 was the first really interesting computer role-playing game for me too. Sometimes it does feel like Neverwinter is "no country for old men". Thank god there is NWN 1 and NWN 2. :) They have lured me to stay for ten years and 3 months so far.
Yep, NWN 2: Baldur's Gate The Sword Coast Chronicles is really amazing. In fact, anyone who values role-playing more than any other aspect in an MMORPG game with more-or-less modern graphics should definitely get NWN 2 with expansions and start playing there right now. :) Before Neverwinter I had played NWN 1 quite a lot…
According to information in other threads Ioun Stone of Allure gives +150 power +150 critical +150 recovery. Does Ioun Stone of Might give +110 power, +110 recovery, +110 armor penetration and +110 deflect?
I would build a personal Champion of the North pack if I had $200 to spend on the game. :D * HEAVY HOWLER MOUNT * IOUN STONE OF ALLURE COMPANION * 4 LARGE BAGS OF HOLDING (96 more inventory slots) * 4 EXTRA CHARACTER SLOTS * 12 MORE BANK SPACE SLOTS * 2 RESPEC TOKENS * 12 BOTTLES OF DYE * 3,500,000 ASTRAL DIAMONDS
Mwahahahahahahaha *very evil laughter*!!!! :o I dare people who say that Neverwinter is easy to try to defeat the White Dragon as an Underdark drow, duergar or deep gnome character in Baldur's Gate: The Sword Coast Chronicles, the MMORPG style version for Neverwinter Nights 2. It has never been done, at least not without…
You said that cat gives crit + recovery and stone gives crit + recovery + power. Why is the cat better than stone in that case? Does the cat add less to other stats but substantially more to critical hit and recovery instead?
Are there any exact numbers how much stats each one adds to the player character? Is it true that cat adds more critical hit and recovery, whereas ioun stone adds less critical hit and recovery but compensates by adding other stats?
