I was actually able to do epic karrundax with 1 cleric (me), 1 Guardian Fighter, 2 Rogues, 1 Control Wizard. The trick was to have 1 rogue DPS the boss the whole time, while the Cleric laid down divine astral shield to the side and everyone else fought inside it. Yea, I just had this happen to me. Before my invoke ended, the portable altar disappeared and I didn't receive any reward, yet my invoke timer was reset to 1 hour. -_-

Exactly. Clerics will never be the main damage dealer. They have decent burst damage, but their sustained damage isn't anything to brag about. Speaking of bugs in the red wizard quest...this is what happened when I logged out then relogged in attempt to fix it. A few monsters appeared under with me, and after I killed them, it said my quest was completed and that I could "collect [my] reward." I had to use /killme then run to the end and collect my reward.
