Oh good, last time I saw such channel on beholder there was like 7 people on it, now we will have at least 20 so we will be able to make at least 4 parties.
From the other side: Kinda sad :(

The sad thing about this, is the community needs to start such legit/fairplay things, since the devs arent able to fix some bugs, which exist since open-beta start or may longer...
Instead of that, it feels like there are getting new ones with every patch...

will join legit channel later, been already in dragon legit and had some nice parties.

Just a friendly reminder to those that want to stick to legit-only runs, that this channel has been created specifically for that purpose.

They should add a "special drop item" for groups who manage to kill EVERY single add in a map... maybe even open that end chest to collect it...

I don't say it should be a T2 BoP set piece, maybe a random epic BoE item...

That would get rid of runners quickly I bet...

This is an intriguing idea; maybe a special drop from killing 95% or more instead of every last one. Though discussing the idea here in detail here might take the thread off-topic.

Chat settings (the cog top left at chatwindow) -> custom channels -> show properties...
(or something like that - just click around abit... same as on guild roster, offlineplayers are hidden, if not checked.)

All Global chat channels work across all Cryptic games, this means that you can see them in CO, STO, Neverwinter and XMPP clients.

As the channel becomes more active, it might be wise to consider splitting it in two.

A LFG and a social channel. There is more and more discussion lately, which is a good thing as long as it doesn't hinder the LFG aspect.

Does a Channel like this work pretty much the same as a Guild?

Not a bad idea actually. Might help somewhat. But my problems with the channel have more to do with the tone of the conversations in it rather than people having a conversation in the first place.

I prefer a legit run over a run with exploits. And imo finding legit runs is what such a channel should be about. But sometimes the channel gets away from that. One day you log in seeing people argue about what is an exploit or not. Another you see someone bragging about how many players they reported. Or a troll arguing with everyone about why exploiting is normal or something.

I don't think you'll ever get rid of some of that kind of stuff though. Just the nature of the beast.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the 400+ people who have joined the NW_Legit_Community custom chat channel! YOU are the reason this game is great, (and the devs too of course)! I've teamed with some of you folks and had great experiences every time. Sure, there may be bumps along the way, and we may have our disagreements, but our combined effort to see proper, legitimate play brought to the forefront, is gaining ground, and I applaud all who have contributed, (and continue to contribute), to that goal!

    Thank you all,
    Biostem

I will try to join later tonite. Still on the dragon channel at this point.

One thing I would like to see is a consolidated guild channel like we had in DDO, where many guilds shared a channel to recruit people to run raids and such. I have been offered to join other guilds, but I am already well vested in my guild bank and it is just close friends so i am not going to ever leave. Maybe a list of Legit guilds would be a helpful addition.

I'll rephrase my question: How does a channel like this and a guild differ?

A guild gives you access to a guild bank, guild channel, guild roster (to see who's online), and Gauntlgrym, but only for members of that guild.

A channel like this gives you the number of people online in the channel but not their names, nor does it give you any guild benefits. However, its advantage is that it does not require all members of the channel to be in the same guild in order to communicate with each other in their own channel.
