Post updated. I apologize for the delay. This is starting to get a little stressful for me... Anyway, yay, someone else request a mindflayer companion! I can add that to the list now.

UNACCEPTABLE! 30 YEARS DUNGEON!!! It's cool of you to have been compiling all our suggestions, though I'd suggest that if it is stressing you out you may want to not do that anymore.

I've always liked the MIndflayer, thus why I made the server my home, and think it could make for an interesting controller companion. Seeing Mindflayers in game though always makes me want to have psionic classes implemented.

And there have been to many posts as of late without mentions of Rust Monsters.

Thank you for your concern, but I want to continue to compile everyone's ideas and suggestions (at least the lore-friendly ones) so they can be heard. With that, I can make it easier for PWE to know what the people want, and maybe they'll actually implement that. Besides, I want more unique companions!

Now, about rust monsters, they're still one of the most requested companions, and will remain in that list. :-).

To be fair, this one is clearly not a companion worthy beast....But **** wouldn't this be a nice raid boss..

One thing I would like to add sominator beyond the types of Companions we get, one thing that is sorely lacking is not being able to customise and equip your companions like we do in STO, we had that also on BG, IWD and the NWN series. Right now we have a sea of clones...and it just isn't cryptic. I understand that you guys might have bigger fish to fry....but this to me and almost everyone I know who is playing is one of the few showstoppers in a otherwise great game.

Id like my own pet Mimic to follow me around. Extra storage plus a potential loot picker-uper. Bonus if it could gobble up the occasional stray halfling as well.

Could be interesting. Give it three bag slots you can equip to it. It starts with one 12 slot bag that is only usable by that mimic or something. Lets Cryptic make some more money from it on zen market bag sales. Would probably have to make it so you couldn't dismiss it while it was holding your items though.

I'd like to see companions that you could actually afford to buy. You get the first one for free sure. But everything beyond that is insanely expensive.

The Angel for example requires that you LOG INTO THE GAME FOR 360 days and pray each time in order to purchase. That's INSANE.

All of them are so bloody expensive. you can't buy them without P2W and that's going to be the downfall of this game.

I still can't believe no one said a pack mule! anyone else irritated that we have to pay for bags, and we still only have 5 bag slots? How about a 30 bag slot pack mule you can keep stuff on while not summoned as long as it takes up an active companion slot?

I do hope they start adding in more affordable companions, or even some companions you get through drops and such. $30 for a companion is a little much to me. $15 a companion I'd be more inclined to buy one or two. $10 a piece and I'd already have quite a few of them. $5 a pop I'd probably end up buying all of them... The angel doesn't bother me at all. It is a loyalty reward more or less. In my opinion I think it is a good idea to make long term goals for players to work towards.

There was an idea to have a mimic companion that works something like that.

One thing I would love? Unlock the race for the current companions. Good example, I would love to have all the starter companions, but I HATE Drow... alot. Not buying the him... not even for a cheap 2 gold.

    Personally, I want Covetous Shen!

Also, I want to customize my companions appearance so bad! Cryptic, make this happen! Allow me to change my companion's hair/face/physique with the character creator just like my main character!

The next companion I'd like to see is a living one. Hopefully, one with good a.i. As it is now, they are pretty pointless past a certain level.

The cat and ioun stones, are too powerful in comparison, imo. Then again, they do cost a lot.
TL : DR? Then don't waste my time responding.

I'm... going to wait on this one. That's a lot to cover, and the lists are hard to edit on an iPad. I'll update once I get on my computer.

    Edit: Added to lists.

Baldurnadal i feel a little dissapointed, i know that my "luggage" post was a little humorous, but it really makes sense... discworld's "the luggage" is by far one of the best companions ever, fun, useful, cool, really hilarious as a item/npc... and i got a couple more responses who agreed, but you neglected on puttng it on the list...

Yeah, its somehow a mimic but in steroids, also, gave us, readers of discworld novels, some of the greatest and most hilarious reading times of our life.

Remorhaz will always have a special place in my heart as being the first big nasty thing I had to fight when I first played D&D many many many years ago. Though I think it may be a touch on the to big side to make a proper companion. Invisible Stalkers always make me laugh ever since I first saw their "art work" in my old 2nd ed book. A blank white square.

Regardless of the companion i would like to see more control over them, kinda like the henchmen you can get per the D&D rules through the leadership feat. A companion that you play though obviously inst primary or necessary. But we have to have more control over our companions, thats the main thing for me.

I apologize for disappointing you. :-(. I decided to remove The Luggage because it's not part of D&D lore. If I kept The Luggage on the list, then I would have to keep other not so lore-friendly requests on the list as well, which may eventually leave no room for more appropriate entries. If a few more people request The Luggage, I'll make room for it.

And i'm sorry for renaming you ^_^...

Btw, D&D lore... in those 40ish years the lore of dungeons is so freaking huge that almost covers everything in fantasy, but i understand. ty for your hard work in this topic, i hope devs get a glimpse of it!

Other issue with the luggage is it is connected to a non WoTC property. and as for the hope for devs seeing this. Page 13 a Community Manager saw all the ideas. So there is that at least. :)

I decided to put The Luggage on the list anyway. He is one of the most requested companions in this thread, so it wouldn't really be right to keep him off the list. :-).

By the way, I never actually noticed the name change until you brought it up. :-P. I might actually have to use that in the future.
