Thank you for more great work. I am trying to build the MOF Renegade Support CW - strictly as support and no concern for individual paingiver results. I'm a bit confused about moving away from Crit Chance, as I thought this was useful in providing smolder along with critical conflagration. I see you are recommending combustive action, so assume the push for AP gain, along with recovery instead of critical chance is to promote more frequent use of our dailies and encounters?

Is it possible for a higher Critical chance build to still be a good MOF support CW?

Yes, it is. What I use for a pure support build is swath + combustive, with no critical conflagration. The reason I do not stack crit on that build and I do stack power, is because of the fact that on a pure support build I use an owlbear cub for damage. However, it is purely personal choice and it is entirely viable to make a support build without losing crit.

Fab! Thanks for the great advice. I decided to upgrade my plague fire to perfect, as I'm pretty far from being able to afford perfect dread. Im not sure about which is better dmg for me ( that calculation hurt my head to even look at lol ), but it looks cooler and in parties i have noticed group Dps skyrockets.

I am now working on my r9 enchants and came across more areas that I hope you can advise on.

Armor Penetration - if I have the max ARpen, does the plague fire debuff provide anything else, or is it to supplement a low ARpen total ? Against targets with lower armor than the ARpen stat, is anything gained by the ARPen that is in excess?

    Companions -
Yeti: how do you feel about the Yeti slotted with bonding ? I have the warlock as well. But I also really like the blink dog idea

    Wild Hunt:
I have this at blue, and I notice it pretty frequently, is it worthwhile to upgrade? ( expensive! )

    Spells & Feats:
I currently use CoI ( tab ), icy, ss, and disintegrate. Am I losing too much dps without steal time? I hate the casting windup / delay. also, because I mostly use AOE spells, I did not take focused wizardry, is that a mistake?

    MOF:
Lastly, I know you said you run MOF / thaum, which I actually kind of prefer. For damage, is it better to crit with smolder everytime you crit, or to proc Storm Spell on only 30% of your crits?

Now that I have a perfect plague fire, would going MOF with critical conflagration and chilling presence be viable as a high dmg alternative ?

Ps sorry for all the words, just trying to Rticulat

If you have maxed arp, then you get the maximum benefit from plaguefire. The way it works, is if your opponent has more armor then you have RI, it reduces their armor, but if it has less, then it increases your damage by 3% per stack, so if you are using a plaguefire, you absolutely want to have your arp maxed.

The yeti works well, I personally prefer the blink dog because it also has a strong active bonus, but if you want a tank companion, the yeti is fine. Also, it is NOT worth upgrading the wild hunt, mine is still on blue.

As for your spell setup, its fine, its exactly the same setup as I use, for the same reasons. You don't lose much dps and in some cases (CN) you do more.

For damage, spell storm is definitely the way to go. Also, I don't recommend going the MoF route until ~3k item level :)

I may try the yeti if I ever get that far in IWD lol. Not eager to grind black ice. Blink dog is cheaper and I can definitely pick one of those up.

Good to know about RI & MOF. Thanks!!!!!

Nathan, you can buy the Yeti treats in Auction House for pretty reasonably and try your luck at feeding the baby yeti in Hook Line and Sinker, that's how I got my first Young Yeti :3

I picked up a yeti off the AH. I actually haven't ventured far into IWD. I plan on using genies gifts to get as much of the boons as I can. Thanks for the tip though!

Also any CW's thinking about the yeti - I've only been using him as an Not summoned companion, but his active procs constantly. I almost always have it on

I believe my INT vs CHA is 28/21, SS Thaum Oppressor, Human Race. Is it more beneficial to reroll my INT a few point lower and bring up CHA? If so, what is the optimal stat line.

Hey Sharpe, With the upcoming changes to Bondings, I was thinking that a good strategy would be to change active companion to air archon and max out for power and crit while trying to cap my arp on my main character stats. Was thinking two "Bites" rings and then a neck that gets me the balance in ARP and LS that I am missing on the Character sheet. Changing Strongholds boon from LS to Defense. What are you thinking you will do once the change is implemented?

    Honestly, I haven't decided yet.

Bites are 1.5 mil AD each now. IMHO that's a bit too much. It's like 30$ each.

Left the Game due to heavy Damage Control & Missing Spanish Language

Yes very expensive, but fortunately I already have two. Since I also have a talisman, I could go Fire Archon, but I was thinking of running Air, 3 CA companions and Wild Hunt.

I am taking a break from NWO, I do not know for how long and I do not know if I will be coming back. If I decide that I won't be returning, if any one of the people who helped put this together want to maintain it, I will give edit permissions. If that happens, you are welcome to change the name of the document to reflect the fact that I am no longer involved in it.

So sad, thank you for your exceptional contributions to the game and the community. You will be missed.

Now, another great CW (and others) hero leaves the game. First Chemboy, now you. Bummer, but I understand. I took a 6 month hiatus shortly after M7 dropped. It gave me perspective on the game - play as long as it's fun, leave when the fun stops, come back to see if it's fun again.

I, and I'm sure many others, appreciate all that you've done fab. I hope that you return but, if not, fair winds and following seas.
    I aim to misbehave

IDK Freedom, I am taking a weeks long break from the game to think about it, I definitely need a break, that is for sure. If I decide to stay, the next time you will see me is during 2x guild marks, if not, ill stay on the forums for a while, before disappearing entirely. It just depends, if I find I am having more fun without the game, then I probably won't be back. During my break, I am exploring the world of path of exile.

IN those words i see a sad statement : its obvious the air archon will be the trend for the new update. IN player feedback i made a suggestion shouldnt only the rings available with double offense slot but all the gear sword knot-belt etc. prepare for the air archon days fill all your screen........................

Air or Fire Archon may be the next big thing to be honest.

Thanks a lot for all your testing and all the in-depth information of the control wizard class mechanic you shared.

“He raised his staff. There was a roll of thunder. The sunlight was blotted out from the eastern windows; the whole hall became suddenly dark as night. The fire faded to sullen embers. Only Gandalf could be seen, standing white and tall before the blackened hearth.”

Ofcourse diversity after all . THEY did good job with mounts but with companions still fail. AND if we cant get the rings adorable x2 offense we can put legendaries like brutality or a rising power +5 with double offense slot. THEY need to add knots-belts-necklaces with double offense as well or all server gonna have fire-air archon which offers nothing to company( if is a plan behind this).
