  • Same problem here. Both ships unpacked, can buy advanced version, can't buy elite version even on a fleet map with t5 everything.
  • If you weren't given a warning (and I wasn't so obviously others weren't either) you should be able to ask your bank to issue a chargeback. That isn't just sour grapes over the direction of the game or something, that is paying money for a product (Master Keys) and receiving a different product (permanently bound Master…
  • Why wouldn't they want the keys as currency? Every key has to be bought from them with real money (since even Zen on the exchange had to be purchased by somebody originally). Right now some people buy keys to open boxes and some people buy keys to sell for E.C., all making them bound would do is eliminate the second group…
  • Just a heads up, I had this new program trigger several days ago without affording any warning before purchasing the keys. I'm not sure if it was just implemented early, but thought you might want to know. I filed a bug report here at the time: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1283051 .
  • I bought three more keys to test things out. I used one on another Xindi lockbox from the same stack and the same thing happened: the duty officer mini-pack came out account bound and the Lobi would only stack with the Lobi from the ten I had opened. I then opened a Tal Shiar lockbox from my bank, and the items were…
  • Nobody has ever experienced this before? I'm afraid to buy any more keys, although maybe I will try just one to see if the problem is repeating itself. The items are entirely bound, opening the bound Duty Officer mini-pack even gave me bound green/white officers.
  • This game actually has a lot to offer new players, it's current players (especially, alarmingly for a F2P title, well-known community members and big spenders) that Cryptic has dropped the ball on. I'd recommend this game to a new player, though I would advise them not to spend any money for a few months. At that point…
  • Thank you for the update! If I might suggest something, this post really needs to be its own stickied thread; right now there are over a dozen new posts on the topic throughout the forum so an easily-accessible official post on the matter might cut that down.
  • I've got no problem with a guy being on vacation - he's a person just like anybody else, he needs to relax - but that's still a big oversight not to have somebody filling in for him. I mean, community manager isn't even a technical position, you could literally hire a temporary fill-in off the street and it would have made…
  • That's my point though - a neglected forum full of unhappy players is a lot worse than no forum at all. Why are they paying daily hosting fees to actively hurt their reputation? That's not "greed" (as game companies are, usually naively, accused so often of), that's incompetence.
  • I'm pretty sure he's implying that they were using the XP packs for something other than the intended purpose, that they allowed them to bypass the dil refining cap somehow. I have no idea how or if that's possible - it certainly does seem from their one public statement and pointed silence since that the rolled back…
  • I'm a generally-content recently-returned player but I absolutely concur with this; communication is a glaring issue for Cryptic. Even from a purely self-interested standpoint it would behoove them to place a greater emphasis on managing the forum community - as it stands now I think Cryptic would be better off shutting…
  • Ominously, the only official word on it I can find is a developer post from 6 months ago saying it was proving a "difficult bug to quash." Some people seem to have it for all their characters, I guess I can live with writing off an alt but that would be totally gamebreaking. Just discharged the ship and re-claimed it from…
  • Yeah, the loadout feature is frustratingly useless for fixing it. I can set my new tray up, save to both loadouts and beam down, but as soon as I beam back to space the tray is re-set to the same exact BOFF-less layout and both loadouts are set to match it. I never used the loadout feature even once before this problem…
  • So, am I correct that there is no work-around to this as a Romulan? I've got like four or five story missions to go before I can get my level 10 ship and it's already taking forever to kill these stupid Tal Shiar with my dinky starter ship. What a pain, I wish the Double XP was optional.
  • Or 9 epohhs, although that's more than a month of dailies even if you're diligent.
  • I really like this idea. Definitely something worth the devs revisiting. The customizable bridge/DOFF voice packs is the selling point IMO (literally) - the company isn't going to pay people to develop content that has no moneymaking potential at all but by adding new voice packs down the line for Zen they will be able to…
  • That's an interesting idea and one that might pump a modicum of value back into green DOFFs as I thought the now-depleted exchange value of low-level duty officers was a nice way of funneling some EC towards newer players. Sort of like chipped gems from old school Diablo II.
  • Alting is still helpful in the dlithium grind anyway - people think too much about hitting the daily cap when it's easier (and not a huge initial investment) to have three+ toons so you can just cherry pick the most efficient (or your favorite) ways to earn with each of them. I can make 10,000 dil spread between four…
  • Every game with any random portion always has lots of threads of people complaining the RNG must be broken because they didn't get the good thing at the statistically likely time. You won't get a purple every four times - you might not get one for twenty, you might get three in a row. The OP had a pretty large sample but…
  • I've seen lots of T3/T4 fleets in chat letting people join and use their shipyards in exchange for donations. Once a few fleets are at T5 I can only assume the same option will become available.
  • Yeah but how am I going to motivate myself to play that Klingon without a shiny new ship at the end of the tunnel? I'll be right back in this same boat when that sale rolls around. ;) It's a nitpick, I know, just was caught by surprise when I tried to hand Cryptic money and they said "no, you keep it." :o
  • Yeah, was the fix only applied to the first two reputation tiers? I'm in the same boat, 40 hours for the same rep projects as before and a bigger-than-expected step up in item requirements.
  • What's the ceiling on this one? Best I can do at the moment is one purple engineer with Resolve + Stubborn and 4 non-engineering purples with Resolve and one crit trait. That gets me 24% purple, 33% blue, 43% green. I wonder what your odds are with a perfect team.
  • Same problem here. The avatar of the programmer to post so far in this thread seems apropos. :D Given that it's so widespread I expect this will be fixed soon, I'm not going to lose any sleep. *shrug*
  • Kudos for the devs for addressing this so quickly. You've made a generally satisfied customer completely satisfied again.
  • I feel like there's way too much complaining about 99% of things in this game (I'm perfectly find with PW running, you know, a business) but I do agree with those who find this new rep system to be off-puttingly long and the project unlocks to be pretty poorly balanced on top of that (why would I be willing to take days…
