BOFF abilities disappearing from space tray

Every time I beam down to the surface of any planet and then beam back up all my BOFF abilities disappear from the space tray, and the others are re-arranged to a preset position as well. This doesn't happen on any of my other characters.. I've never used the Loadouts feature (always hearing it to be glitchy), although I've tried to no avail to use it to get rid of the problem (the loadouts are both set to the same BOFF-less position after every beam-up).

I've looked through the similar problems in the forum but none of the tricks that have worked for people seem to work for me. I've tried tray locked and tray unlocked, I've rebuilt the space tray from scratch several times, unslotted all Bridge Officers and re-slotted them. I can't figure out what to do, this makes the game rather unplayable on that toon as I can't afford to spend the first two minutes of every STF rebuilding my space tray.

This has been happening to me too. I have been running the Borg Advance missions (in Gamma Orionis) on a Tac Oddy, and I've wound up having to re-do my space tray mapping on every mission because it keeps reverting to an earlier configuration, even after I've saved the loadout with the new config. In fact either the loadout save never took, or it also got overwritten when the tray map got reset, because trying to reload that loadout doesn't fix the tray mapping.

Yeah, the loadout feature is frustratingly useless for fixing it. I can set my new tray up, save to both loadouts and beam down, but as soon as I beam back to space the tray is re-set to the same exact BOFF-less layout and both loadouts are set to match it. I never used the loadout feature even once before this problem showed up. I've tried switching to a different ship and leaving spacedock then coming back and switching back to my main ship, I really don't know what else to do.

Nothing worse than starting one then realizing your tray is not there. You have to try to get out of red alert to fix it without blowing up. On a timer, your team really loves that too.
Wow. There is a new KDF Science ship. I'll be!

Ominously, the only official word on it I can find is a developer post from 6 months ago saying it was proving a "difficult bug to quash." Some people seem to have it for all their characters, I guess I can live with writing off an alt but that would be totally gamebreaking. Just discharged the ship and re-claimed it from the C-Store, put all equipment and bridge officers on from scratch outside Sol, warped to Earth orbit and the space tray was right back to the same position.

EDIT: Then I went down to Starfleet academy and back out to orbit and it was suddenly fixed. We'll see if it stays that way.

I too am experiencing this same issue and it is very frustrating. There are many circumstances in the game where you are put into a combat situation when you enter the instanced space. It is nearly making the game unplayable. I hope this isn't going to last long because, although I just recently started playing the game, and have been enjoying it immensely up until this bug began affecting me, I can't see myself playing much longer or investing much more time or resources while this continues to ruin my gaming experience. I've tried just about every possible approach to find a workaround with no success.

It's re-appeared again for me, appeared after DR went live, disappeared for a short time after the emergency patch, and now it's returned and is once again annoying the hell out of me as I'm trying to level up my MatHa and it having to redo the tray so much is crud! This bug should have been fixed eon's ago - permanently - no excuses given how long the games been going!

I'd like to say that this is a new BUG, but unfortunately this critter has been around a long time.

That post from Six Months ago, was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this particular discussion.

It has been around since the game was in BETA (well, the earlier beta anyway)

They seemed to have quashed it for a large part of the player-base after LoR hit, but it seems that it was just hiding in some dark corner of the database and has once again reared its ugly head.

I just look too see if any of my BOff powers are missing from the trays when changing instances and readjust my crew positions if they are.
There's nothing we can do about it till They hit it with another can of DEV "RAID".

As a highlight..., This variation of it also seems to have somehow figured out a way to skru-up the placement of ones Devices and Ship Weapons/Items. I find my Inventory suddenly much fuller at times cause many of the items have abandoned ship like rats on the Titanic.

I'm also having this issue, my layout hasn't changed much but since I'm not sure when my tray has been locked with my abilities and can't change anything, i move things around and change things up add a new ability but after s switch map or two its back where it was.

Try this if you haven't. Please let me know if this doesn't work as everyone who has tried it has worked. Hopefully it will at least make it playable.

Step 1 - Re-setup ship the way you want, trays, boffs, etc.

Step 2 - Make sure your trays are "unlocked"

    Step 3 - Rename both/all loadout's to "Temp 1" "Temp 2" etc

Step 4 - Save your new setup to both/all loadout's named "Temp 1" "Temp 2" etc

Step 5 - Switch your ship and Test

Step 6 - If successful rename and setup accordingly.

Have done so for Tier-5 existing, Tier-5U and Tier-6 ships. Now all working correctly.

    Hopefully it works for you.

    Cheers.

I just wanted to come back and share a workaround I was given this morning for this issue. The key step mentioned above is switching your ship. Put the abilities back in your space tray how you had them, then go to the ship's status window and hit the Switch Starship button. Wait for the 60 second cooldown and switch back to your original ship. After doing this your abilities should remain in their spots in your space tray after you beam to a ground location and return to your ship. Much thanks to the person in the Delta Quadrant who shared this workaround this morning.
