What I think would be fantastically interesting is a true carrier/sci hybrid that is focused entirely around its pets, rather than treating pets as a (somewhat) disposable source of supplemental damage. Rommies would be an interesting choice on that, especially taking the notion of a carrier that stays cloaked during the…
Also, ISE is much better now if you run it listening to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnHmskwqCCQ It is the most fun I've ever had in ISE, in a really stupid way, though.
Neither, frankly. The Tal Shiar ships sacrifice the two biggest feathers in the Romulans' cap -- singularity cores and battle cloak -- for nothing that's particularly appealing to a Romulan. Warbirds already have good boff slotting, and the ability to fly science-heavy without sacrificing dual cannons (see, the Ha'nom and…
...there was roleplaying in Drozana? The handful of times I went there before Dental took over, all I ever saw was Mew'Wi Soo the half-Caitian, half-Orion, transgendered and pansexual god-daughter of Kathryn Janeway and Ezri Dax, who's won three Vulcan Scientific Medals of Honor and performed the kolinahr ritual so…
Thanks. It's also absolutely hilarious against the elachi, who once you get your timing down, will actually kill themselves by subspace jumping right into your mines. That alone makes replaying the elachi missions at 50 worth it for its amusement value.
Better daily restarts and maintenance with the other 21 hours of the day being solid uptime, than weekly or worse maintenance with poor-quality uptime. I just hope mail deletion gets fixed soon.
Try the omega torp instead, it's better-suited for at what the D'Deridex excels: long alpha-strike passes, and a battle cloak to reposition. Add mines to it, you won't be disappointed.
Well, that explains what happened during the assimilated carrier fight last time I ran CSE with it... That said, treat it more you would the PDS consoles, and not an extra torpedo as such. It's much better by comparison looking at it that way. I'd be overjoyed for it to work with torpedo doffs.
It's a decent ship, I suppose; it's decently balanced and stacks up well against most C-store T5 ships. It's nothing like the JHAC and makes you wonder what the hell PWE was smoking when they designed the thing, if that's for what you're looking. I have mine built as a torpedo/mine layer ship on my science officer and am…
Threads about this have been all over the forums -- beta and live -- for a month and a half now. Other than server outages, it's probably the most recurring topic on the forums and in game right now. In each and every one of these threads, at least one well-intended player gives exactly the help you say they should be…
You missed the "...and aux power..." part. With consumables, or an elaborate combination of RMT items (more in a second) you can push one or the other to max, but you won't get the consistent, workable, power levels in both you need to get the most out of shield tanking. It should tell you something that you must rely upon…
To that I'll add, use your fourth aft slot for mines to drop right before you cloak. It's quite effective, even without an available boff slot for dispersal patterns.
Considering there have been numerous posters in this thread, and in every other thread about the D'Deridex's turn rate for the past three weeks, listing in great detail exactly how high the D'Deridex's turn rate can go (with and without cloak) and how it's done, to which you have exactly zero response save "those should be…
As I said, that's conjecture and extrapolation, based upon my experiences in the T4 D'Deridex on beta. That's intended as a boilerplate, and a starting point from which those participating in the conversation can work. To that I'll add, shield tanking in a warbird is extremely substandard. Warbirds have decent shield…
I had a fair amount of success with a hull tanking/mine-layer build with the T4 D'Deridex in the beta. Extrapolating that to live and the fleet retrofit, conjecturally, Fore weapons: DHCx2, DCx1, torpedo Aft weapons: Turretx2, KCBx1, mine (tractors work wonders) LTC Tac: TT1 or HYT1, CSV1, CSV2 ENS Tac: TT1 CMDR Eng:…
If you want to make a "realism" argument based upon Newtonian mechanics, the heck you say. Reaction control engines' mass to thrust ratio, save proximity to center-of-mass, is everything in determining responsiveness in reaction control.
Equip it with an RCS and tachyokinetic console, run EPtS/EPtE instead of EPtW/EPtS, fly long passes and cloak after each pass, and drop mines for extra hellraising on your way out. It's fine.
Well, in response to this, it strikes me that PWE/Cryptic would do well to allow players to buy gold account status for 1000 zen per month. Zen is already money in PWE/Cryptic's account, regardless from whom it came, and sinking zen out of the economy is in the medium- and long-term more profitable for them since it…
Hell I wish, there was a 1500+ queue at 1400 CET (which would be 0800 EST, 0500 PST), and the fifteen minutes I spent in the queue saw me moving backwards presumably for being bumped for gold/LTS. NOTE-THING FOR PEOPLE WHO SUCK AT READING GOOD: I'm okay with this. I figured it would happen. I'm playing other games until…
This seems to have been moved to "Feature Episodes and Events" after the forum reshuffling, can I get it moved to one of the Romulan forums? Also, bump for LoR going live.
Funny story, I did CE a few times in my mirror star cruiser for kicks, at the time it was equipped with the Jem'Hadar set (out of necessity as I lacked a better equipment set for an alternate ship). My crew didn't "evaporate within seconds of red alert" as some would claim happens -- I usually finished out the fight with…
Do the Galaxy-X or Bortas have battle cloak? You're not seriously telling me you're trying to "dogfight" in it, are you? It has battle cloak for a frickin' reason. An A2B build, even accounting for the cooldown reduction(s), would play extremely poorly on a warbird anyhow. Cloak's effectiveness is dependent upon auxiliary…
That would be because after three consecutive weeks of actually taking the time to explain these things, it's become abundantly clear to me players are wholly disinterested in actually learning to fly the thing in favor of whining about it, and posting further on the topic is a complete waste of my time. If you are…
Crew are adequately resilient, when players use the proper consoles to preserve and restore crew. I guess if my suggestion were to be worked into the game in some form, players might find cause to actually use them, especially when taking into consideration cruisers and ships with larger crews would find themselves at a…
