I'm writing this as a point of contention cause I have tried all the carrier like escort or dread ships for romulan side or battle cruiser equiv on lock box. I'm tired of these small teasers. If cryptic can and probably read this the romulan side needs a carrier on par with the atrox and kdf vo'quv. Its about time please. If this were added I would be a very happy customer. Other than that can others who read this submit ideas. I'm not asking for this to become a debate thread but something for a actual idea to give cryptic what were looking for. And no it shouldn't be more powerful than the atrox or vo'quv or even a dps nightmare like the scimitar. Just lets try to give them ideas and not cause a ruckus. I want to see this happen cause it is high time romulan side got something on par.
As mentioned above I'm trying not to be stagnant or stick in mud just really wanting a fully fledged carrier for romulan side of story.
dirlettia , where does it state the scimitar is the romulan carrier please? it is labeled as a dreadnaught not a carrier. I'm looking for something that is a carrier not a dreadnaught with a hanger attachment. Sorry if it sounds negative but i'm wanting a official carrier. Any ideas?
Not the first or last person to bring this subject up. The scimitar is not a true carrier no more than the fed escort carriers, kdf flight deck cruisers or the Bortasqu' Cruiser. So far Cryptic does not seem motivated enough to create a true carrier for Romulans.

Cryptic does not seem motivated enough to create anything good.
However ... a Rom carriere would be nice, but there are still a lot o ships romulans actually needs:
- Carrier
- Vesta-like science vessel
- Avenger-like cruiser
- Kumari-like escort
and maybe (my dream) a good Fleet Science-Escort Hybrid Warbird (not the Dyson ones ... I don't like them, just something like the Ha'Feh - Haakona Parts - science-tactical warbird).
Don't know ... something like a 4-2 weapons slot, 1.2 shield mod, 30.000 hull, 0.20 impulse mod, 14-16 turn rate)
I definitely would love a good two-bay carrier. But in order for it to be worth it, the new ship would either need to have access to the Scimitar-locked drone ships, or a Romulan runabout equivalent to the Starfleet runabout. Sending out 12 tiny ships is no better than 6 tiny ships. Double- or single-ship wings is very much better - but admittedly, that's just my opinion / play style.
I can't see the Republic getting an Avenger or Kumari clone. The Aelahl and the Faeht have added more than enough tactical capability on an already tac-heavy fleet. That said, I do agree that we don't have straight-up clones of either of those Fed ships, but I'd rather see something else come out first.
I was just having a conversation with a fleetmate about a Republic Vesta clone. That'd be awesome. But it'd have to be made a little more warbird-like - maybe a 4-2 weapon loadout, swapping out the single hanger bay for a couple more hull points, and the Reconnaissance console layout of 4tac/2eng/4sci.
I've got no problems with the Romans getting a T6 true carrier, however before then I'd like to see a true science ship.
Ideally it would be a step up from the existing Fleet Ha'nom Guardian Warbird, something purchasable with Zen rather than the current dill and upgrade modules.
Heck, before the romulans get anything, I was a KDF science ship (pipe dream, I know)
Even pipedreams can become reality. It just takes a major verbal bashing with a 10 ton hammer. to get the point across while you cave in the skull. But the same method non the less. The point I crave a carrier over a sci ship first is more of a science commander like feel vs a science ship. The point alone that they didn't truly think romulan side through has me more than pissed. But there atleast making attempts to remedy this. I just hope they do it before they make another cluster TRIBBLE up decision that makes the game more unstable thats my only problem with the developers. Other than this delta is a good expansion but they tired to jump the guns to many dam times in this instance. I just hope all comes to fruition because I am getting tired of my fleet complaining about lack of content when there to dam lazy to slow down and smell the roses.
Romulans have several science ships, and now that all hull materials can be used on the Dyson there is no decent argument against them.
It's super unlikely that they are going to add any new "free" ships, at least not any that are going to be viable end game.
Cryptic isn't going to keep making Rom Science ships if the existing ones don't sell.
I'd rather see a true Romulan carrier, and a more well rounded selection of Intel and T6 Ships, before we get another tac or sci Warbird.
Maybe they should make ships that sell then, instead of those Dyson abominations with their locked-in weaponry, and the blatant abandonment of the I.R.W. prefix.
. . . (my dream) a good Fleet Science-Escort Hybrid Warbird (not the Dyson ones ... I don't like them, just something like the Ha'Feh - Haakona Parts - science-tactical warbird).. . a 4-2 weapons slot, 1.2 shield mod, 30.000 hull, 0.20 impulse mod, 14-16 turn rate)
Ahh, we already have that. The Fleet T5-U Ar'Kif Tactical Carrier Warbird:
Mine uses Gravity Well I, and is pushing over 130 particle (can go almost 200 with more changes), with a officer flip to Feedback Pulse III
Favored weapons: Cannon Front, Turret Rear, Torps and Mines to taste.
Mine: Corrosive Plasma, Neutronic torpedo, Cannon Rapid Fire III, Torp Spread III
Having 5-4 tac-Sci, and BOFF slots to match, what more are you asking for?
What I think would be fantastically interesting is a true carrier/sci hybrid that is focused entirely around its pets, rather than treating pets as a (somewhat) disposable source of supplemental damage. Rommies would be an interesting choice on that, especially taking the notion of a carrier that stays cloaked during the entire fight and relies upon buffing/healing its strike craft instead of getting into the fight themselves. Something like...
- 3/3 weapon setup, no dual cannons.
- Low hull, but 1.3 shield mod.
- No battle cloak (just standard cloaking).
- No frigates, just fighters.
Which means, you have low innate DPS, and are pretty screwed if you're found or get aggro. In exchange...
- Enhanced sensor analysis (can be used while cloaked).
- A console that shares heals and buffs that effect you with your strike craft, at reduced effect.
- A T6 mastery trait that does something like increase carrier pets' defense and/or damage resistance for every buff on them.
Somebody getting uppity about canon? No problem! Just take a deep breath, and repeat after me:
One thing I would like to see personally, I would love to see some sort of carrier with three or four hangar bays and similar in size to the D'dedrix warbird. Ideally it wold have 3 Eng Consoles with an additional 4 science consoles and 3 tac consoles with maybe a base hull of 40K. I would like to see some sort of Romulan Scimitar Reskin for this carrier.
Geez... an intel carrier would be scary. mine dropping and kinetic magnet spamming fighters to go with it along with a light helping of Ionic Turbulence perhaps?

Not only a confirmation that there are more ships coming, but that there are more Republic ships coming!
Here's hoping for a science ship. A Scryer-like or a Dauntless-like would be the best imo.

Make more carriers and take MY MONEY NOW!!
Something that screams "Narada" more than the Khnial, without actually going there.
Tal'Shiar/Reman Resistance/Romulan Nemesis uniform, pls.

Spock's Brain.
a carrier with advanced battle cloak; can launch fighters or torpedoes while remaing cloaked
could be hilarious
