It's definitely between 2 and 4 for me. Though I voted for 2 in the end. It's the most unique design out of the 4 ships imo. I just like the overall design, and having such a large habitat dome is very appealing, though due to that it's not a ship I would want to fly in combat ;) I could see this as a generational ship…
Excellent work by Thomas. Glad to see these options now available and looking so... sleek and pretty!!! Thank you for listening to player feedback. Keep up the great work guys :) and I hope you've started getting paid for these upgrades, instead of doing them in your spare time ;)
Were... They were weaker than the plasma exploders. Now, on a properly fitted out build they're the new Op'ness. 10% chance on exotic abilities with 100% shield pen, boosted by EPG... Yeah...
Unfortunately I did try this route and there was no effect on the unsupported message. I even deleted all versions of gameprefs.pref within the STO folder (so from the main folder, the live folder, the test folder and even the super old beta folder) and still no dice. it took a complete removal of the game from my system…
Yup, had to completely reinstall the game before I was able to use the launcher to log in. Make sure that you delete all files relating to the game, including any tribble/redshirt installations before running the installer again. My honest sympathies to anyone who has a limited internet data plan that has to go through…
Update regarding my post. After reinstalling the game from scratch (deleting all left over files, including tribble/redshirt files too) I am now able to use the launcher to log in. If you have updated your graphics drivers etc, and are still getting the same "unsupported video card" message, then you may have to go down…

Windows 10, Directx12, Nvidia GTX 970, and I'm unable to log into game due to a "Your videocard is unsupported" message. Gameprefs file checked and directx11 is active, and my card is detected correctly, yet still unable to get past the launcher. STO installed via Steam if that makes any difference.
I'm out, but I shouldn't be out. I'm on windows 10 with an Nvidia GTX970. Been playing STO using Directx11 for years, but for some reason I can't convince the launcher that I am running an obviously Dx11 capable card. Incredibly frustrating.
Same problem here. I have a GTX970 and the game is saying that it's not supported, despite the fact that I have been playing in full DX11 since it became available in game. Command line is clean, I've force verified the game and done a clean install of the latest graphics drivers available from Nvidia.
She is beautiful. As I have said before, the new Jupiter takes all of the good aspects of the old Jupiter Class, fixes everything that was bad, and updates it to the current line of Cryptic style Starships. Fantastic work guys :) can't wait to fly her.
Enjoyable read. Kudos to the writer. However, there is a little wrinkle in the whole thing... It doesn't tell me anything about the new episode
The Borg definitely need a redo in space. I honestly don't think that an adaption mechanic like on the ground isn't the way to go however. As others have said, I favour a building damage resistance mechanic. These sorts of mechanics already exist, as an example, the previously mentioned Aegis shield... So, what should…
But most players will log in for only a short time per day. You have the hardcore players who will be handing in missions as soon as they complete. But the vast majority of players will fill their Doff mission roster with random (or not so random) missions, then log off, and log back on the next day, hand them in, then…
I doubt that Shenanigans need to be called. I'm certain that a lot of people saved up handing in their mission completions for doffing until the progress meter went active, hence the massive initial jump. Same happened with the Fleet progress meter. Unlike that one however, there isn't the massive resource cost to starting…
*admiring tone* I hate you guys... :p Proof right here that a good team doesn't need all the cheese to win ISA. Basic white gear and actual teamwork got the job done.
Well there's a couple of easy ways to get more traits... For example, with the Romulans getting Plasma Weapon Specialist, I'd love to see the return of Weapon type specialisation in the form of traits. For those who weren't around at the beginning of the game, you used to have to pay skillpoints into weapon specialisation…
I honestly think that the best way the devs can go about getting people playing these older queues is less to do with the standard rewards. Instead, we should look at more unique rewards. My suggestion would be for the devs to occasionally spotlight these old queues, like they do with Crystalline Catastrophe and the Mirror…
I am also unaware of hate aimed at solo players. The vast majority of the game can be played solo, and if you're not interested in playing the queues for faster mark earnings and elite marks for rep gear, then you won't be affecting those who do group. *shrug* I don't know what to say, other than "sorry" if you have…
I'm of the opinion to leave them as they are. What you are proposing will end up doing the exact opposite of what you hope. Time vs reward means that people will always focus on those queues that can be completed quickly and easily. Removing the cool down means that people will just play these queues more, to the detriment…
I think the problem with Kemo is less to do with torps (though with the always proc on torps it does make torp builds deadly) and more to do with the proc rate on energy weapons. With a 10% proc rate you are still going to get a lot of bang for your 90mil credits on an 8 beam BFAW boat. The most obvious nerf would be to…
Multiple things honestly, A T6 Typhoon. A T6 Romulan D7 The previously mentioned T6 Defiant with a dual Quantum torpedo launcher. A Ferasan Heavy Escort Carrier with suicide assault drone pets. A line of Reman specific ship models for the Romulan Republic. And, of course, a line of dedicated sci ships for the RR and KDF.
I think people need to stop panicking and start thinking a little more when it comes to the maintenance times. There are very specific problems facing us as testers right now. Try to remember that most of us have been playing for quite some time. Most of us will have slowly been replacing their lower tier ships with…
I would love to see more space traits for Fed/KDF Boffs that are on par with SRO and Infiltrator. Pirate is a good starting point for a KDF trait though it needs a little more to it, as well as Improved and Superior versions As an example: Superior Pirate +5% damage +450 stealth +15% crit severity when attacking targets…
As Mustrum has done a couple of fed drones, I'd like to suggest a KDF one. Ferasan Light Kamikaze Drone Launch - 2 Per Hanger - 4 Basic Disruptor turret Ramming Speed I Advanced Disruptor turret Omni-directional disruptor beam array Cannon Rapid Fire I Ramming Speed II Elite Disruptor turret Omni-Directional disruptor beam…
Yeah, I have to agree with you on this, especially regarding BFAW and the Rapid Fire/Scatter Volley abilities. After testing a pair of DHCs with [rapid] I feel safe saying that for me, due to the duration on RF and SV the mod end up being rather rather pointless. The proc ends up being locked out for far too long to be…
Completely agreed. We need some Herald Red Alerts. If you want to limit them to level 60 so the only people that see them are ones likely to have completed the storyline, then that's absolutely fine, but please, please give us something to make this feel more like a war.
