  • I too cannot log in due to patcher not working. I tried launching both through the Cryptic Launcher and ARC, and its the same message. Its very frustrating...
  • I love trophies so I'm a bit disappointed that its no longer being pursued. I recently killed 1,000 Vaadwuar and such an accolade would usually give a trophy but alas, nothing. It would be nice if we can have additional trophies since we have newer species now (i.e. Vaadwuar, Elachi, Iconian), as well as missions and…
  • I am unable to play all day today due to constantly being kicked out. My characters are just in the social zones (i.e. Q'nos, New Romulus Command, etc). I haven't had a chance to do anything except acknowledge some doff assignments before getting kicked out. This was after the server crash... Tracing route to…
  • Plus some random screenshots of my characters... Quazaq with his new outfit (Vaadwuar helmet, gloves and Kobali sleeves) Cool zipline screenshot Jorniko Larzen and his away team in action at the Delta Quadrant
  • Below are screenshots of my beautiful Command Cruisers
  • Ummm....NO!!!! Some of us actually like the torso length slider, and its a feature, possibly unique only in STO, that is very VERY useful (I think only the upcoming Black Desert has something similar). As mentioned by others, its better to add things, not take them away. So leave the torso length slider alone!
  • When TSW released the "Borat Mankini" on their cash shop, only to yank it from the game a few days later (including forcing buyers to contact customer service for refunds), it was speculated that the owners of the Borat IP threatened Funcom. While there were whiners, most sane people generally accepted that theory.…
  • Centersolace is absolutely right and this is why... Right now, for a VERY SMALL amount of zen, you can buy a Mirror U and TOS uniforms. You can mix and match, essentially using the sports bra and miniskirt, and there you have it...."swimwear" on the Fedside...the ability to be a skimpy woman in ESD to troll all the, abeit…
  • And I'm sure it will take at least two weeks of obligatory daily grind to get that ship...
  • Yeah, it is a double whammy for KDFers if the swimwear is restricted only to the Risa zone. They not only need to grind the outfits, this means the KDFers, including Rommies aligned to the KDF, will also need to grind up Marauding until Tier 3, so its another grind for those that do not wish to Doff. Not a surprise since…
  • Rumour has it that there is a separate "Risa" tab for the tailor, which will ensure we cannot mix and match with uniform and off duty pieces. This separate Risa tab, plus testimonies from Tribblers is one of the credible basis for the speculation that Risa swimwear is limited only to that one zone. Sad really given the…
  • Indeed. Plus Cryptic themselves already has a ton of experience with torso and texture sliders, from their CoH and Champions Online. Its not an unreasonable expectation that they implemented it for STO ASAP. After all, they were the ones that made the changes, they should at least held back the body textures when people…
  • Ah yes....a classic example of the good ole Godwin's law. :D
  • Most of those photos are not in "swimsuit appropriate areas".
  • How is it a bad argument? The game is called Star Trek Online, the photos centersolace posted is from Star Trek. If its from the show, then its only appropriate that it be added to the game. Cryptic can monetize it if you wish, just give us a choice to obtain it somehow.
  • That's really the crux of it all. Some players here are constantly forcing their ideals upon others. All that is being asked again and again is choice. And we even justify that choice by giving examples from the Star Trek IP itself that it fits within the context of this game.
  • Speaking strictly in terms of BUSINESS, TERA Online has an excellent summer attire system wherein you can obtain the summer outfits for free via a series of easy quests, and you can have them for 30 days or so. However, if you want to have the summer outfits permanently attached to your characters, you can buy them from…
  • Amen to that! I can never understand these puritans. There are other venues where they can be preachy, but Star Trek has, since the 60s, have always gone beyond the social norms. I really don't get why some people don't want us to obtain the items shown in the IP, just like in any other theme park MMO.
  • And if MONEY MAKING is the objective, then there is even a better BUSINESS CASE for swimwear to be unrestricted. After all, sex sells. Some MMOs like Tera Online make their money primarily by selling skimpier outfits, and without a doubt, the skimpy outfits for both male and females in SWTOR, avaiable only via their cartel…
  • STO is first and foremost an MMO. Lots of MMOs have swimwear obtainable via a summer event quests or a summer offering at the cash shop during the appropriate time of the year. STO is the only MMO ever created where "swimwear" is limited only to one zone. Add to the fact that we have to GRIND for it. And I'm sure there…
  • After a few days of calming, I checked out my male Orion and can also confirm bony (i.e. visible ribs) for bare chested males as well. It noticable in certain lighting conditions and if enhanced via photoshop. One thing for sure, this was not a "bug", but rather something Cryptic intended to change without telling us. I…
  • This thread is full of win! This is actually available in the game right now, but limited only to Male Orions. Note that the screenshot below is pre-Season 9, with the nicer textures. All Cryptic has to do is enable the "None" drop down under the Bare Chest category for all other species (currently, only the Khan…
  • That is ultimately why I created this thread. Just to make Cryptic aware. As far as I know, no one has brought up the issue with the male torso texture. Granted, I could have been more "diplomatic" but its extremely hard to contain my frustrations with Cryptic at this point, especially after was has been discovered from…
  • And there you have it. This ability to have male skimpy outfits in this game is something that you personally would like removed, despite the lore, and hence why you would rather this particular issue not be fixed. You're just a puritanical homophobic troll looking for a fight and I am tired of it!
  • There are other threads in this section and in the graphic issues section regarding issues in Season 9, and yet you single out this one. Where is your post in the Khan head-wrap issue thread then?
  • Yes. Oh please! We all know what your view point is with regards to this topic. Stop spreading your hate in this forum. This is extremely upsetting to me, but I'm sure you would be happy that people like *me* just leave this game instead of trying to find solutions so we can actually enjoy it. I've been in this game since…
  • So what does that mean? It shouldn't be brought up? Who the bloody hell do you think you are, Aslan wannabee???:mad:
  • Oh please! SWTOR pretty much has "BDSM gear", including a bound emote, and one of the new cartel packs have skimpy pants and yet there is no indication that it would bump the rating to nc-17! No one in this community is asking any outfit that is skimpier than what is in SWTOR, they just want to be able to wear…
  • I think a lot of people forget is the old Mirror leveling is not just to gain levels. Its also to obtain expertise for the reputation projects. If you have old toons from launch, you tend to have millions of expertise lying around. But for new toons, its a pain to accumulate. If it weren't for the old Mirror U event, there…
  • I had to photoshop the Khan uniform to make it male skimpy, see the first page. This IS an MMO first and foremost, and MMOs are suppose to be *fun*. Plus other MMOs have the same rating as STO and yet they do not restrict their "swimwear". I believe Rift is rated Teen (same as STO), a fantasy MMO WITH modern day swimwear.…
