Male bare chested torso now less "ripped"

WTF Cryptic STO Dev team! Why did you change the bare chested torso textures for male characters less defined????

Here are before and after shots of my male Orion, Quazaq.

Its the same deal with my male Orion boffs, which I grinded like crazy back in Season 2 to get Diplomacy to Tier 4 ASAP. I spent a lot of in-game energy credits AND real life money (buying a lot of lockbox keys to sell in the exchange to buy the rarely listed male Orion boffs Fedside when they appear in teh Exchange) for the additional ones.

Its bad enough that you are restricting "swimwear" just to one zone, and now for male Orions, you made them less ripped in Season 9????? Are you really *that* gender biased????

And yes, I already tweaked my graphical settings (I know about the three tabs), spent a better part of last nite but no success.

    There are way more important issues than how someone's chest muscles look.

    Aslan wannabee lol? I just said there are way more important issues that need to be fixed than the amount of rip someone's muscles have.

    Eh dumb question, but did you update your graphics setting after the season 9 patch reset them back to default?

    Oh please! We all know what your view point is with regards to this topic. Stop spreading your hate in this forum. This is extremely upsetting to me, but I'm sure you would be happy that people like *me* just leave this game instead of trying to find solutions so we can actually enjoy it.     There are other threads in this section and in the graphic issues section regarding issues in Season 9, and yet you single out this one. Where is your post in the Khan head-wrap issue thread then? :rolleyes:

    No offence man, since I otherwise support your rally, as more customization = better, but that comes from someone who's been lobbying for Caitian stuff, which may be seen as equally unimportant for those who don't care about Cats in STO...? Be more considerate, reeeally. Makes people want to be more sympathetic to your own agendas.

    And while I agree, there are more pressing matters with the S9 release.. I'd simply use more nice tone to say it.

    I haven't said anything rude. I simply stated I think there are way bigger issues than a muscle graphic.

    The one being "rude" is our friend here who is attacking me for no reason simply because I suggested there are bigger issues than this one.

    That makes no sense, you know...the level of "ripped" to what you enjoy looking at won't remove what you suggest he doesn't enjoy looking at...he'd still be looking at male skimpy outfits. Do you think him part of some conspiracy where Cryptic is trying to diminish your desire to wardrobe your guys the way you do...? Where do tinfoil hats fit in with your particular wardrobe fetish?

    edit: But in the end, it does raise the question of why bothering sharing the obvious opinion that's already known by Cryptic in the first place - there are more important issues that need to be addressed. All this thread did was bring up another issue - just to make Cryptic aware of it if they were not...simple as that. No replies actually needed...no need to bump it and give it the appearance of more importance than it deserves.

    That is ultimately why I created this thread. Just to make Cryptic aware. As far as I know, no one has brought up the issue with the male torso texture.

    Granted, I could have been more "diplomatic" but its extremely hard to contain my frustrations with Cryptic at this point, especially after was has been discovered from the recent Risa Summer Event leak.

    It's not just the OP's meatshield, it's a bug all over. Somehow the bump mapping and normal mapping on all characters got borked by the season update (something I remember seeing the one time I managed to get into Tribble, too, incidentally). My Fed lost all definition on her facial scar, and my Lethean's spots look bad.

    It makes a certain amount of sense as ripped doesn't look right with average body types or even most Star Trek actors. I could buy ripped being an alternate option although a part of me has this crazy idea to make ripped tied to the Development DOff category as a costume unlock.

    I wish more DOff categories could get treated like Diplomacy with optional dialogues and costume unlocks. Given that Development is exercise/leisure/fitness, maybe some fit options would be a nice addition there. If not mucles then maybe a Picard/Torres inspired "duty tank top" costume unlock with some definition showing.

    You're a strange one.

    Try turning off the Cinematic Focus setting. It adds a blur effect on everything.
