While i have a fairly large selection of ship equips with visuals, I checked the shields and none of the 1s I had had heavy red visuals on em, the other parts again they my not have obvious red tones to em. I cant speak for the co-op rep sets though i havent unlocked those yet.

if ur still looking to use fighters on any ship other than a "carrier" have to use a ship device by a simular name, the vault rewards the scorpion fighters and the pereguine figher version was out of an old lockbox. Not many players have em as they are fairly weak when compared to the hanger versions

While i didnt notice a big change in the no. of deaths when i first reached admiral. I did notice an increase in time it takes to burn through the hostile npc hull, ground wasnt much different. Though my experiance could be attributed to a different playstyle/setup than your prefered setup.
