For KDF, it can help to farm whichever cluster it is for Laura Connely. It's one of the ones at the bottom of the map, and she provides all the bonuses for the other cluster missions.
This is a major one of my problems with it. The pilot coming across as a self insert "Mary Sue" from bad fan fiction didn't help. Once it's on DVD I'll try it, from a library so CBS doesn't get more data on it.
When they make the AI smart enough that the vanguard pets don't open fire on a target you haven't selected that has negative impact (Subspace Core? on Breach), I'd be a little more open to this.
I recommend KDF. Plasmonic Leech may not be as good as it was, but there's still not much that makes as much difference in power levels. Marauding is easier/more useful than Diplomacy, and if you do a red alert, you get a "free transwarp" to Sol, where a lot of marauding missions are.
I had an engine disappear, but that was the game deciding double click meant equip to current ship visual slot rather than current ship that has no engine equipped...

It would be lovely if they could change turrets to *toss thingamadoodle on ground *thingamadoodle turns into turret/mortar and you don't have to STOP to use them... Imagine if it took as long for a Tac to throw a grenade as it does to summon a turret.
I'll point out that since there are companies other than Cryptic/PWE involved, that the legalese of international giveaways are likely even more ridiculous.
Since it can be accessed from a button on the GUI, maybe put the actually useful menu portion on the right side instead of the left, so it's closer to the default location of the button.
How about give us the ability to set some default slots, which would cover the first chunk of abilities. We have so many abilities that are available to any ship we fly, and it would be nice to have a consistent preset. ie, I can set Evasive Maneuvers to slot 2, and whenever I get a new ship, that's where it'll be.
There used to be a difference between disables and drains. Not sure if it's still there, but basically, being hit with a whole team using polarons will keep draining you, but you'll get breaks against a whole team using phasers.
I'm wondering how well those passive kit modules would do well here. Particularly the Engie ones with passive group healing. It's really frustrating how long it takes to set up fabrications and see EVERYTHING wiped out in one shot...
Would you agree that the magnitude at which TACs buff everything is questionable? Not that they buff ALL damage, even damage that doesn't make sense, but that it's so much of a boost.
If the limit for omni beams is tweaked, can the wide angle cannons get looked at too? Being limited to only one per ship for a forward weapon is kinda silly...
