This mission is bugged to hell and back. The enemies can see and attack me while I am cloaked, enemies can damage me right through my shields with almost all of their attacks (while playing the Advanced version, I died about 15 times with FULL SHIELDS), and enemies fighters can OUTRACE me while I am at FULL IMPULSE. I've…
Good, I will focus on -res. APB seems like a good idea, especially with cannon damage, which severely degrades with range. However, procs damage doesn't degrade with range, last I checked. So, APB will be quite fantastic. So... I can't increase the damage from plasmatic biomatter procs with the Romulan set or the fleet…
They do sound juicy. Which do you recommend? The plasmatic, or the phased? Well, if I'm going to build a new char, I can aim for any ship. Which faction and ship do you think would work best? Should I try getting an intel/pilot/command ship? Makes sense, but I am still not clear on all the things that boost proc damage.…
I've been playing since this game first became free to play, in early 2012. Back when the rep system was first released, and the Omega Force STFs were changed to Omega rep, there was a brief moment when speccing into the Omega Shield Regeneration trait while equipping an Assimilated Regenerative Shield Array effectively…
No, I'm positive they were [arc]. I know the difference between [acc] and [arc]. This was when the new crafting system was first released, and was rife with various bugs. For example, everyone was accidentally given access to the level 15 traits at level 1. I built at least 6 mk 2 omni-directional beam arrays then - but I…
I accidentally double posted, so I'll use the second post to give an update. I checked out the Dyson and fleet science consoles. The Dyson science consoles only work for exotic damage, which my tac captain cant use so much. The fleet science consoles seem like they now add the equivalent of OGA, but with plasma damage, to…
Whoa... these have changed a lot; though the gamepedia entry [ http://sto.gamepedia.com/Threat-Scaling_Science_Consoles ] doesn't reflect those changes. I will check them out in game. Yeah, I've gotten them before [ http://sto.gamepedia.com/Console_-_Science_-_Shield_Refrequencer ], but they weren't so good, so I trashed…
My Rom tac cap is a crit + antiproton beam boat (fleet dhelan), with a full loadout of fleet very rare gear and all the rep consoles and whatnot (I have been playing since before LoR came out; but I have been on hiatus for the last ~6 months due to IRL stuff). I have over 25% crit chance unbuffed, and over 80% crit damage…
Wait, what? I have equipped 6 lvl 2 crafted omnis on a ship before. But this was when they first came out; perhaps it has since been patched? Or this, yes. Well, I have noticed that OGA procs really often - often enough that I used the aforementioned 6 lvl 2 omnis with the OGA procs to wreck Borg ships. Granted, however,…
Thanks, I look forward to that. Depending on how this works, I might want to create a new character with a proc-focussed arc-beam build, and even buy a new ship. I would gladly spend more money on this game, but the ridiculous lack of available information about mechanics disincentivises me from doing so.
Sorry, what I meant is that I cant double stack APO3. Do you mean to say that I can get 3x tactical team conn doffs, AND 2x attack pattern recharge conn doffs? That would be AWESOME! :D
1) I'm using a Fleet Ho'Sus BoP. 2) My battle cloak tooltip still says 15%. When will the 30% change be instituted? 3) Only male blue tac rom boffs have superior operative. I recently got 1, and will be getting another. So my original question still stands: is there any advantage to getting subterfuge? Especially since the…
I'm seeing no damage increase with subterfuge. :\ You can get Romulan Boffs as KDF via the fleet embassy. Not as wide a selection as a Rom captain, but its still good.
Ok, this is confusing me. I just tried it out with my rom char. I have 3 boffs with superior subterfuge AND superior romulan operative (I got REALLY lucky with my boff rolls while levelling up). However, when I remove ALL 3 OF THOSE BOFFS from the ship, the damage bonus after decloaking is the same. Different combinations…
Yes, but I cant double up on APO. If I get 3 of these doffs (and I have the EC to afford them) I could get APO to recharge in 33 seconds. Or if I get the other type of conn doffs, I can get +30 attack patterns, which improved the damage of APA as well. Which would be better? Since I'm looking to maximise my alpha strike, I…
No torps for me, thanks. At least, not on this ship. I got a sweet torp/GW vesta on my fed char. This char is pure beamboat. Good to hear that the nukara tier 4 passive is worth it, though. :) Holy exploding Borg, Batman! That is a sweet-TRIBBLE bonus (or a sweet TRIBBLE-bonus, whichever you prefer). How in the blazes did…
Engine power makes you go faster; but it can be hard to see unless you're specifically looking for it. One of the problem is the lack of points of reference. Space is a large place. However, if you fly right next to an asteroid or something, and then time how long it takes to fly from one side of the asteroid to the other…
Well, I prefer antiprotons; I think they're more generally applicable than polarons. I already have more weapon power than I need. I don't think that's an issue. It might be useful to redirect the additional power to aux, but as I mentioned earlier, I am not sure exactly how good that would be. And in any case, the KHG…
Interesting piece of information, but I'm not sure if it's relevant. I don't use aux2bat (don't really need it) and I don't fly a cruiser (don't really want one). Well, I don't care for the defensive bonuses of the fleet shields, or from the heals from the Borg set. I'm looking at improving my alpha strike damage. Also,…
Thanks for the info. However, macronius is correct; I was hoping for a raider or raptor with 5 fore-weapons. I would really like to see a Kumari equivalent for the KDF. I'm somewhat surprised that the feds got the Andorian pack, while the KDF didn't get anything like that. I mean, I understand the dreadnought pack, with…
There are situations, especially in STFs, when sustained high DPS might be better than burst. This ability is for that. As I said, the numbers can be changed, but having a huge AOE and damage potential would seem to counter the downside of firing downtime.
Both of you have commented on the numbers I put up. I know the numbers aren't balanced. That's not the point. What do you think about the CONCEPT. Thank you. :)
Hmm, I am still somewhat upset by the turrets resulting in reduced DHC damage, but DPS is DPS. I have access to fleets on my Fed and Kling chars, but not yet with my Rom char. I'm looking for a Tier 5 fleet, so that I can get my Ha'Feh. Yes, I always get the highest ACC weapons. :) See, my goal is to deal very high burst…
You, Sir, have given me hope for playing this game... :) Ok, so, if my understanding of the situation is correct: I can go with 4 DHCs, 2 turrets, and KCB, and get more DPS than if I had gone with 4 DHCs, Omega torp, Rom torp, and KCB? That means that I don't need to stick with plasma... perhaps I should go with…
I'm not trying to bolster my fore dmg with rear weapons. Rather, they're for the set bonuses. Unless you're suggesting that I could get more DPS from discarding the set bonuses in favour of turrets...?
I see your point, but I don't intend to use my rear weapons. Rather, I intend to put 2 or 3 reputation weapons there (omega plasma torp, romulan plasma torp, and cutting beam; maybe not even the cutting beam) to bolster the DPS of the fore weapons. I think I'm going to go with DHCs and see what happens. Any tips for how to…
