  • Most ground DPSers go with Na'kuhl shield + gun (in 2nd slot) to use the shield and get 2pc bonus (2% crith, 30% critd). Its direct predecessor and still relevant would be Counter Command shield + gun (5% crith). For more defensive setups consider the Omega Force shield or Shattering Harmonics shield for up to 40% dodge.…
  • You're missing that the proc itself is the moot point. It doesn't do much so don't care much. Choice of energy type comes mostly down to supplemental items and set bonuses enhancing it. The very reason disruptors are so popular currently. On the other hand its cheaper to get great crafted weapons (->basic plasma) than lock…
  • While I find the suggestion a bit stupid the problem itself is stupid. I'm sitting right in front of a calculator why do I have to make this calculation myself? I want to post 18 @ 14523, so be it (without pulling out an extra calculator). Adding the separators while you type would be helpful too of cause. But then the…
  • The diminishing returns curve is pretty sharp and this skill gives only some ratings on top of all others. The final effect will be negliable same as the final 3 points of combat armor. Even with Fleet Recoil Compensating Armor you land at about 45-50% resists with 6 points in Combat Armor. With really high resist armors…
  • Also depends on the enemy shooting at you but I see numbers of about 66-100% hit rate. But often the sample size is too low to make a reasonable statement.
  • This list is good even the last 3 come in most cases together, namely FAW and CSV (at least on primary target). Wouldnt do that anymore. The last 3 points give close to nothing for their price better off slotting the accurate trait and drop the skill to 6 then. Well of cause depending on what you're shorter skill points or…
  • Think it was 33% definately worthwhile. And the 20% haste does work now too as many have tested.
  • Triage has that advantage, but Tricorder has only 6-7s cd (with commando spec) much bigger heal and also resists buff. And of cause getting a cheap UR Tricorder variant from fleet spire instead expensive VR Triage from exchange... For traits you could also look at Savior, same mechanic as Vicious just for healing. That…
  • I dont have a straight out answer. The Solanae deflector is still very often seen on sci builds. Apart from that with the changes to Particle Manipulator trait many people only aim for 250 partgens now which opens again vast selection of gear. Regularly heard of are especially torp bonus sets like KHG as there are several…
  • The longest if you really play it but big parts can be done on fast farward so I think it a good mix.
  • The essential part is that it doesnt have any influence on the STO client. Now I'm curious what that 'legit' subject was but when it was deleted once it might have not been that legit...
  • The less crew the better. But finally the effect is so unimportant that there is no point even looking at it.
  • Xindi Kits with ExpHit would be nice too. At that time i was mainly thinking of Pack Leader trait but couldnt find the name. There are also some (racial) traits increasing expose chance (remans, betazoid, telepatic, lucky), may be even more sources. Endothermic instead exothermic is also a good mention
  • Well that combat time thingy is tricky anyway. Sadly the game doesnt log combat start/end to just pull these values so its always some guessing involved. But of cause its worth to take a look into...
  • The differences between different mods are quite low so I wouldnt spend a fortune for that last 1% more dmg. Your sample beam is a very good one and the price tag supports that.
  • Its correct and that way for several months now. Upgrading doesnt help either.
  • Because I can launch pets and other abilities before warp in animation.
  • It works fine with 3pc bonus. Procs pretty regularly. If that 'bug' on resillient shields is plus or minus depends on your resists. The usual romulan warbird with valdore console doesnt fit armor consoles at all, so moving that 5% damage to shield instead hull is a big advantage. Also as jarvisandalfred already stated it…
  • You dont neccessarily need a full set. Combinations or 2pc bonus can be fine too. The delta set you're eying is definately not bad especially for a starter. Some thoughts copied from another thread for you: Omega or shattering harmonics shield for 30% dodge (40% at mk xiv) Delta armor (+ 2. pc) giving very good resists and…
  • The trait caps crith at 250 partgens (including player skill points), so you would be fine with 4 consoles and no other partgen source. critd is increased further but with 0.1% per point that is quite fruitless so better go with something else supporting your build e.g. the already named gravgens.
  • Its still fun if you look a bit closer into it and get your toon going. Its also my current major occupation but sadly almost all counter arguments are true also. Most of the graphic works could be done in '99 Quake Arena just with reasonable FPS and responsiveness which both lacks in STO. Especially NRC and the all-new…
  • When you get to the spire also grab a medical tricorder module. The heal is big, gives resistances and the cd short. Many tacs run the graviton spike module which keeps the targets a bit longer in the flames (for other STFs if bugs dont run away). Really look into traits increasing expose chance. Many of your skills can do…
  • Seriousdave pointed at the right direction. Did this mission with my delta toon at level 50 and had no problems. Did it about 2 months before with a different toon at level 56 and dispaired like you. The thing here really is that everybody levels up while your TRIBBLE ship does not. Good point though after the first wave…
  • Setting up a useful science build isnt too difficult and the strongest abilities are well known. Bigger problem is the price tag, e.g. TBR is only useful doffed and thats an easy 25-35m EC investment (KDF side when I checked last month a few times). Also have R&D Science > 15 or bust.
  • Well, good/bad news for you: another shield to consider maybe: "A new unique Shield has been added to the Shields R&D School: Hyper-Capacitor Shield Array [Cap]x4." (tribble patch notes)
  • Maybe I shuld have quoted the post directly above mine, which was very much about "illegal", "lawyers" and "buying". The decision is not have as bad as you people think. The top 3 synergies were W->S, W->A and A->S. They removed one of them, far too late in my opinion too, but they replaced it with a very valid…
  • There isnt much point in respeccing them, you will get all of em anyway. There is no real choice needed and therefore no need to revise your choices. Just go on, it fills over time.
  • As long you pack some shield heals the total cap isnt much of a point. It needs to be big enough to survive alpha strikes but after that the mitigation part takes precedence. (compare that 7k shield cap to the total value of healed shield points during an STF) This alone makes resilient shields better than the others for…
