Server is down. The message on the game launcher window (and the red alert dot) says so. "Holodeck is currently offline We are aware of this issue and are currently working on bringing the server back as soon as possible."
That's a new problem that I have not heard, until now. At first blush, without knowing your computer system, I would hope that your RAM (Random Access Memory) is being overtaxed. (I hope it is a memory problem because, if it is a Cryptic bug, there's little that we can do.) Open up "Windows Task Manager" and check your…
Did you try from inside the program files? I am wondering if the launch without ARC, a short-cut, or anything but the program itself might help? Are you getting the crash to desktop when the character roster window deploys? Or does it crash elsewhere?
Have you tried launching the game straight from the game files? Optimally, a short-cut would work. But if a short-cut from desktop does not work (or you don't have a short-cut), try this: Go to your "Local Disk" drive which houses the game. Usually, that is C. Open the "Program Files" folder and then open the "Perfect…
If you have ARC, ARC and STO don't get along. As the game launcher starts, the two systems apparently fight with each other and lock up the drivers. It's Cryptic's end, not ours -- I've already done the driver switcheroo and it did absolutely no good. This was true prior to season 10, starting (I believe) with season 7 but…
Same here, as mentioned by many other players. Apparently, almost my entire account bank is now useless, as items that were there are now both blacked out and frozen in position, so that I cannot utilize those bank slots whatsoever. Fleet banks too. Funny thing, where I had R&D materials and hanger fighters, those account…
Not sure if you are using ARC ... ARC and STO don't play nice together. Drivers get locked up. And please mods, don't delete this sincere post again. Instead, please let us know what to do. Fixes would be appreciated.
Good point. However, if Cryptic doesn't start offering us what we want (like the JJ alternate version of the Constitution-class), instead of pushing ships and equipment that are not inspiring, STO won't be viable much after 2016. They are violating the probationary Ferengi Rule of Acquisition: "The customer is always…
If STO would stop the reputation tier grind and make the Iconian campaign a featured series of episodes, I would be on-board with some enthusiasm. But more grinding and a new, boring battle zone will make me not participate, same as right now in Delta and Dyson.
If no other season theme helped PvP, why would yet another jump to a briefly mentioned Iconian race do any better? Changing the gift wrapping won't fix that foul odor coming from inside the box. The core of the problem, in my opinion, lies within the mechanics of PvP itself and mandatory grinding -- grinding which takes…
I just tried the link http://gateway.startrekonline.com/locked.html and was informed that, "Star Trek Gateway is currently undergoing maintenance. Please try again later." How much later? Hours, days, months? No telling.
I am just verifying that another player had the same problem last year. I suggest that you have that player delete the chat channel on their end, then have him/her add that channel afresh. Perhaps the problem will reset itself? P.S. If that does not work, have the player restart STO before re-adding the chat channel.…
Leviathen, I and other players have also had serious issues with ARC and STO. And updating the drivers has little to no effect, as the problem is not on our end. FYI P.S. You might give the suggestion from chi1701d (post #2) a try.
Kelgarr, I've noticed the same thing about ARC and I think you are correct. But even before the mandatory ARC, after the launch of every new season, I and many other players were locked out from STO (for 4-10 days), starting from about Season 7 Romulan. Every time, STO would tell us the problem is on our end (but STO…
It sure would be nice to have a unified standard of 20 hours for all special missions. If boring grinding must be done, at lease keep it simple and a bit flexible at 20 hours. Good idea, Thomas.
During a single Borg space encounter, I got disconnected twice and probably would have been three disconnects, if not for the fact that the Borg ship being never appeared at all! That's a continuing bug in many Borg space encounters, which is a complete waste of time; no Borg ship, no payout. And now swarms of disconnects?…
