Bring back The Foundry. The possibilities are infinite; and considering what I saw of them plus some of the idea's here. No limit in Star Trek content. Just bring it back.

Discusson of the Foundry has been FCTed. Please don't get my thread closed. I miss Foundry, too, but they made it clear that there are no plans to bring it back. We need to simply accept that and move on.

Sorry, I didn't know that. I have been mostly absent since a certain time. This thread is valuable in showing what the members like and want. I surely didn't mean any harm in my post.

need a simulator type thing for testing ship load outs, pick an enemy type, launch and fight, doesnt have to have any rewards. the kdf empire defense missions and the foundry filled this niche forever but now foundry is gone and empire defense missions seem to be inaccessible.

I have not done one of the defense of the empire missions in about a year, since just doing the events, getting mission drop gear, and leveling ships for their traits usually results in hitting endgame without doing anything else, but it was there the last time I did go for it. A lot of the stuff is now attached to missions to unlock, maybe you have to do a particular one (maybe a new one you never did) to unlock it.

Before the YOK event is over, there should be five different Bridges and vendors for ship disruptors with unique sound effects for each of the KDF's vassal species.

some version of personal housing, preferable in the form of customizable ship interiors. though I wouldn't say no to a custom station.

#1 Request: Interior Faction Bridge & Decks Refresh

I'd be happy to see more detailed, modernized Origin bridge for each Faction, slightly expanded crew decks, with a few additional Rooms, and more Holographic terminals, like is on Odyssey Bridge. Mostly just a little refresh or revamp be nice!

    500px-Computer_access_room.jpg

Though most customizations, likely be very limited, so the most we could hope for, is a choice of floor or wall textures for each Corridors on different decks!

What they could do: Is personalize Rooms like Ten Forward, Captains Ready Room, and Quarters with the existing Trophy Mechanic already in place, so you could swap or replace Chairs, Tables Sets, Sofas, Beds, Chairs & Desks, Musical Instruments, Terminals, Book Cases, Artifacts to several others items depending on the type of Trophy available to place in those rooms!

I'd welcome expanded Trophies, be it from a few ZEN Packs, or GPL / DIL if each Captain could show a bit more of their style in personal spaces with Trophies!

#2 Request: Expanded Hair/Facial Hair for Romulans/Vulcans & Republic Uniform Updates.

I loved many of the Female Hair Styles shown below, not to mention I'd love to see a few expanded options for Romulan Uniforms. I'm surprised they haven't added a Romulan Republic Ground Armor, with Tailor unlock for the Republic, or slightly alternate option for Alliance Captains. :'(
This was posted on reddit but some of those hairstyles would be pretty nice to have for some space barbie

#3 Request: Expand Crafting, either through R&D Assistance, or R&D 20 creatable Items

I'd also Love to see a slight revision done to Crafting!

I suggested they maybe expand R&D Assistance, to award a few more Professors, as another way to expand Crafting options in some schools; though they could also add a new item for those who earn with R&D 20 as you'd suggest!

#4 Request: Expand Projects in Several REPs, except perhaps Omega...

Be nice if they'd add a few new Projects to Several Reputations; Omega is the only one with 3-4 Ground & Space Sets! Most have but 1, so several opportunities to expand others for sure!!! Romulan is the only other with 2 Space Sets, yet also lacks a Republic Ground SET with Tailor unlock! <3o:)

#5 Request: Return, Revise, & Refresh previously removed Episodes from ARCs

I've been curious why were don't from time to time get more Holodeck missions, that require us going to the Acadamy a bit more often. I'd love to see the former Fed mission that featured Tribbles promoted to Holodeck status at the Academy! One that both Fed's & Klingons could do with different twists, outcomes, or possible prizes as well! While the Fed's might save them, as they did in the original Federation Mission once removed; the klingons might find very creative ways to sabotage these efforts. >:)

Hopefully we'll also soon see a return to many former Episodes ARCs missions. I'd also like a return to Episodes that focus on actual missions, not Patrols or TFO's! While they are nice, there still something entirely different. :o

So many things I would love to see in the game has already been said here. Maybe a little more love for the Jem'Hadar and Romulans. Disco-era Klingons would be interesting, although I suspect a nightmare to actually do. Since there is no real "player housing" component to STO, a system where we could have more customization options on our various ships (interiors).

And of course a bunch of what everyone else is wanting, as well. LOL

Good Note to end on! Some interesting feedback for sure, hopefully they will consider some of it. <3

About what Strathkin put, the least that the DEVs can do is make a better readyroom and some gag buttons on random consoles throughout the ship.

If we let them get away with no Day/Night Cycle because of Lighting 2.0, then they can get away with no Bridges. I mean really, how many games of the MMO variety don't have Days and Nights. :(

STO was not designed to have day/night cycles. The experimented with it with Bajor, and yes, it was well received, but it was nothing more than an aesthetic effect that had no impact on gameplay.

And they probably don't have a dev on staff anymore who understands the lighting code enough to generate day night cycle data for Lighting 2.0. Bit in the context of the thread topic, I'm sure that if you were calling the shotys, you would first hire a dev who can get his hands dirty in that code branch and do what you suggest.

As farr as bridges, So long as there remains no practical reason for visiting our interiors, it don't matter if we have bridges or not. But of course, If they hire a developer that can look after all ship-interior-related elements that could change.

-add new fleet holding to drop high prize of zen for dilth. let's called it "SECTION 32") .nothing to spend dilth in game
(add some items like weapons which fire pets for some time, and some kind of rolls items with different stats)
this game needs some kind of random grind, this one for re-eng is boring.
-nothing to do in tfo if you got everything. add some EC reward (+100k EC will be grate for one run of TFO)
-and rework retrain tokens, they dismiss personals traits. it's awful and no need's

I'd welcome a New Fleet Holding, though be easier perhaps for Cryptic to expand existing Holdings, Several could be expanded from Tier 3 to possibly Tier 4, all with less effort that it take to make a New Holding. As they only require a few subtle interior enhancements, yet could unlock several expanded options for fleets to choose?

One thing I wish they do, is Group Transwarp by Quadrant, Into Alpha, Beta, Delta, & Gamma quadrants.

Still hopefully, some of the feedback provided in this thread is considered! I've love to see an enhanced, little more detailed Faction Origin Bridges/Interiors, perhaps a little more customization even if limited. :o

You already can be a fleet on your own... you do need 5 players to start a fleet, but once it's established, you only need one to keep it active.

Tacofangs was one of them. Also he explained that the day/night lighting basically required them to manually re-shade the terrain geo or something dumb like that.

You can actually see that Kludge in play with the weird way the shadows "grid" in a lot of places on Risa.

Personally, I would rather have fixed "daytime" and "nighttime" Risa instances that suddenly swapped from one to the other over the perpetual "evening" they instituted as a compromise (it is rather hard on the eyes, and it shows the lighting flaws worse than full day/full night instances would because of the very long shadow angles).

To keep people together, when it is time for night they could go though the numbered instances spinning up a corresponding night one and automatically transfer everyone to it, then shut down the day one and just go though the stack til they are all switched over. Of course they would have to do it when there is a few seconds gap between events, and should have some kind of warning banner ("as night approaches…" or something) before the transfer to avoid rage problems, but it should be doable. Or a simpler alternative could be just having some instances day and other night and let people go to whichever they prefer at any given time, though that could lead to exploits of the Master Relaxer stuff I suppose.

Some people have suggested, they revise Risa Classic Beach, to a dedicated Evening or Night map, perhaps a few less Amenities than the Resort. A smaller Dance Floor, maybe a few Private Huts, Pool or Hot Tub, and a Firework Barge out in the water, with just a small transporter pad to beam back to the Resort.

Still there's many other idea's I'd rather see listed above!

There could also be a TNG Romulan bridge, a change to RSE Commander Talem (Atleast i think it's this one) who uses a male NPC, but has a female voice, and fixing all those cutscenes made before the Hur'q arc.

There is, if I recall, one mission in which you cross paths with the NX Enterprise.

Well, if YOU were calling the shots, you could convince PWE to come off the additional funding to hire more developers so a right proper Enterprise Era expansion could be done, and we can get a 22nd Century Temporal Agent that gets ramrodded into the Alliance just like everyone else...

An idea that might be simpler than what I previously proposed:

Adding all lore (blogs especially) to the game. Players have been asking for this for years now.
    [4:46] [Combat {self}] Your Haymaker deals 23337 (9049) Physical Damage(Critical) to Spawnmother

    [3/25 10:41][Combat (Self)]Your Haymaker deals 26187 (10692) Physical Damage(Critical) to Orinoco.

+1. It would be cool to have them at a resurrected Memory Alpha or have them accessible from the bridge of your ship like the Decipher Tal Shiar Files portion of the episode Mine Enemy.

More Barbi options would be cool. Better yet though, more bridge options. Any purchsed bridge should be cross-faction and able to be applied to ANY ship owned. My Breen Razreth is a great ship, but I can't stand the bridge. I know it fits the theme of the ship of course, but if I were to seize control of one in combat, I would certainly remodel the bridge and living quarters to something more human friendly, even if it was still "Breenish" with some duct work and piping and so forth. So maybe like a human Breen hybrid option, like Sisko had to do on DS9 to veer it away from Cardassian tastes. ... I also have a starfleet character that I play as a sort of anti-hero rogue, a bit Section 31-ish, but with more self-serving interests and a bend toward piracy. He couldn't go with the Klingons either, because of some elements in his backstory. So he is a sort of anti-hero with a tenuous relationship with Starfleet command. Some truly altruistic achievements and being of some value to the dark side of Starfleet keep his commission secure, but he is no team player really. I would like to see more skins and interiors for starfleet that are darker, more anti-hero rogue pirate sort of theme.
  • novemberyankeenovemberyankee Member Posts: 79 Arc User
OH, and this one too. I want to be able to show off all the Barbie work I do to my bridge crew. In public areas, I should be able to beam them in, even on a timer, like a security escort. Even if I have to manually select only one or two each time they deploy.
