  There is only 1 ship class in all of Trek with a wedge shaped hull, the Crossfield, a ship from a non existent fipm also does not exist.

    Not true. Though it is not well known, the models developed for PoT were used in Star Trek III (in the background in the spacedock), and twice in TNG, in the aftermath scene at Wolf 359 (the smaller model was damaged for its use there) and the larger model in "The Best of Both Worlds" visible (along with the four-nacelled Excelsior candidate) in the background in the depot in "Unification I".
    
    The PoT version of the ship is canon by way of onscreen appearance the same way all the other non-hero, seen only in the background ships are.
