Custom ship interiors based off predetermined (as not to make things too complicated or require significant amounts of funding) platforms. The ability to customize the randomly generated ship crew's uniforms (them wearing different uniforms than what I have is a bit annoying) as they seem to wear whatever they feel like it, rather than what I have set for my ship. The ability to add more than just two decks and bridge. There are many more decks on a ship than just two decks and a bridge. Also, allowing us to use the transporters in our ship to beam to planets and missions. Let's not forget adding back the sound effects to the Engineering room of some of the Federation ships; walking in the Engineering room and hearing silence is a bit odd.

this but for KDF ships as well, it sucks that KDF bridges don't have working turbo lifts.

A few little things...TNG hand phasers that don't have the blue holographic stuff around them, more hair styles (both male and female) and I would like to be able to organize my characters on the character screen and I would like to see any of my characters and boffs wear any outfit I have access to. Ex: my romulan boff being able to wear any starfleet outfits I "own".
I'm always in for a little forward and open thinking, and the first thing I'd do, nice and simply, would make the Romulan Republic an independent faction. I don't care about what's said about it not being possible, or not allowed - that reason/excuse has been issued far too often since the launch of the game (anyone remember the T5 Constitution business) that I refuse to believe anything can't be done.
Once that had been done, I'd expand on their story and give the Republic more options; playable Suliban for one and maybe access to some other species too like the Rigelian and/or the Orion. I'd further expand on the playable aspect of characters, and similarly to the Cardassian, I'd throw the Xindi into a store transaction both as playable characters, and bridge officers - maybe split them up a bit across the (three) factions, but they'd all be there - except for maybe the Aquatics.
Primate & Arboreal for Team Blue
Reptilian & Insectoid for Team Red
Arboreal & Insectoid for Team Green
Whilst we're at it, playable Vorta for the Dominion (although honestly, I'd actually be in two minds about whether this micro faction should even be a thing). I'd next turn my focus toward things that exist, but need to exist properly; the Caitian (and Ferasan) spring to mind here, as they shouldn't have the typical humanoid legs and feet. All special/unique bridge officers (Breen, Jem Hadar, Voth etc) to be fully customizable.
I'd add some element of ship interiors, and a use for them too. It's been suggested already, but some feature where we can essentially create the essential areas of our ship interior(s) using preset layouts. If there aren't already, we should also have specific (and unique) doff assignments that we must access from within our ships, and additional ones that other players can access through visiting our ships (say, for different skills); a TAC player would get assignments of a TAC nature, and would need to visit an ENG or SCI players ship to get certain assignments for example.
Cardassia Social Zone, complete with it's own story ark like Mol'rhian (New Romulus). Could also use more alien environments too. I know the majority of humanoids need only visit humanoid worlds, but the whole Nukara missions added something different, and it would be neat to visit other worlds that are truly alien. Speaking of social zones too, an area within (each) social zone where players can go and compete with each other in lesser games such as Chess, Poker etc. Don't give me the isn't allow BS, cause we already gamble with lock boxes, and if anyone is that concerned, simply limit the currency to energy credits.
And then...
More Uniforms (for all species)
T6 Nova (if it doesn't exist yet)
T6 Excelsior (if it doesn't exist yet)
More species-specific uniforms and equipment; Cardassian ground weapons I've seen mentioned already.
Make the bad guys bad again; Iconian, Tholian, Borg, Voth (are they bad?) Vaudwaar, Hur'Q. We're walking all over them.

the romulan would cheat, the ferengi would try to bribe everyone, the klingon would upend the table and try to murder the cheating romulan, and i have no idea what the cardassian would do

Pretty sure the crosshairs show up in the middle of the screen like a third person shooter and you're able to look with the mouse if you're in shooter mode.

I think they are refering to aim mode rather than shooter. The easiest way for me to tell is the fact that the camera can be set to diferent distances for regular RPG mode and aim mode, I have the camera back aways in regular mode and as close as it will go for aim mode.

I have it set backwards for not aiming/close for aiming but, when fights are going on you get switched between from a stun sometimes the zoom doesnt change, or it does but youre near a wall or idk? Sometimes I'm not sure, and sometimes I am and it later turns out I was wrong. Just set you aim mode to something other then the B button, or just leave that hotkey blank so that you never turn it on.
a TOS era campaign, where you're going back. Not just ships like the DISCO in current time thing but full with the filters and skyboxes from the TOS faction prologue.
Maybe have it via Orb of Time and lean into the whole 60s vibe during the story. Like foundry TOS era stories used to.
"A Bunch of Code Slingers that “know how/are allowed” to fix bugs. (The user community has a long list of bugs). There is no excuse for these bugs to not have been addressed for so long.
Every single MMO I have ever played has long standing bugs from years ago still in its code. Hell, Guild Wars 2 has launch era bugs from nearly 8 years ago still around. Do you know why that is? Its because it doesn't matter how many code slingers you have, at some point it simply becomes not worth the code monkey's paycheck to put anyone on it because its so old, and so much of the playerbase has moved past that content, that its not worth fixing when you could have those same code slingers making new content. That's just life.
There's also the matter that between the code being interconnected to extent most people don't just seem to get and that some bugs manifest only on the live version but not in test servers, tracking down what exactly is wrong might take ages.
This is true for STO but also WoW, FF14, GW2, ESO and so on...
I could bet there's literally not a single MMO that's 100% free of long term bugs.
The code for STO isn't like the code for classic 1980s games where the whole game could fit into a single printout and still be easy to read.
add Tal Shiar, True way and Borg to the bad guys list, also can you imagine a poker game between a romulan, a cardassian, a klingon and a ferengi.
The Borg were already on that list. ...but yeah, there's a whole heap of species that would serve as the bad guys that I didn't add; Elachi, Tzenkethi, Tal Shiar, Undine. I was just summarising.
And as right as you are about the poker table, or at least as right as you would be if we were talking a real Trek setting, I think we're all leaving any element of believability behind when we turn on this game. If we've got Starfleet officers commanding Hirogen, Tholian and Temporal vessels, the idea that a few different species can sit around a table with some chips and tokens doesn't seem that far-fetched, does it?
It is simply unbelievable that, given these things, the UFP would have explored tens of percents of the entire Galaxy or that it had even explored almost 20% at a time when it couldn't even reach half the galaxy (basically meaning that they had explored 40% of the Alpha and Beta quadrants).
Just studying a single planet like Mars or a body like the Moon takes many different missions. Getting to know even a single body in a single system appears to involve dedicated stations and teams working on that. Even trying to grasp the basics of some planets in a single system, involves different ships - and then there can still be surprises, despite a prolonged presence there.
Even with more advanced technology, considering how many planets there appear to be in most systems, how many other bodies and how much empty space that may be further hiding interesting stuff (also keep in mind that we can really only see a small part of the stuff in our Galaxy), it's just unrealistic to state that such a large part had been explored.
You seem to forget that the vast majority of planets, moons, and other celestial bodies are uninhabitable rocks with no lifeforms on them, and starship scanners are shown to be able to make a detailed accounting of everything entire planets are made up of in just a few hours of scanning with only the rare bizarre anomaly preventing them from doing so. They can scan entire sectors worth of systems in just a weeks.
And the Federation, around the time of DS9, had a population of over 985 billion, across 183 member worlds, and over 7,000 affiliate planets(colonies, protectorates), and Starfleet itself had around 30,000 ships in the fleet. They can be powering through space exploration with little effort.
As I recall the exact numbers were one out of every 43,000 planets had intelligent life on them, with around 3 million Earth type planets being the the galaxy. Earth type planets making up the overwhelming majority of planets were intelligent life is found, due to the Preserver's seeding.
So? We were talking about space exploration, not the exploration of alien life. Whether there is life on some body somewhere in the galaxy, is hardly relevant when talking about the exploration of the bodies in that space.
The scanning of entire sectors and determining in a few hours the make-up of a planet, isn't realistic as I've shown based on the example of the Dranuur system. If there are so many surprises left in a given area, you haven't really explored it.
You've just looked at it at a very basic level. That's akin to saying that we, today, have explored our entire galaxy because we aimed a telescope or satellite at it and took a picture of the entire thing - thereby ignoring that we have no idea what is actually in there, in all these systems that we captured.
You can't really say that you've explored something if you've just walked past it. Some basic level of understanding or an effort to obtain such understanding is required for it to be considered true exploration.

Yes to playable Xindi. It's a shame nothing was really done with them, besides adding their stuff to lockboxes and putting in one NPC in a single episode.
The problem with keeping Iconians as true baddies is that they decimated the Galaxy (or so we're led to believe). You can't really keep such a threatening enemy really threatening without very disrupting effects to the entire game.
Voth were never bad imo. They acted out of self defense against the Borg and are no more guilty of things the Alliance itself has done.
Legendary Temporal B'rel with molecular reconstruction, why? 1.) The T'liss has a temporal variant and the legendary version is intel, the B'rel which I consider the Klingon equivalent doesn't have any commander specialization variants. 2.) I think it would be great to sell a Temporal B'rel with some other stuff and call it the Timeless Classic Bundle, but that's just me lol.
