    So, I emailed Cogent help desk with a VERY simple email. They responded asking for my company name, account number and other information I DONT have. Which is more or less them brushing me off. Oh, and the issue is for me the middle man and large packet loss. Cryptic cant say it, cause of that whole "defamation" bull. And your service provider cant say anything cause of the same deal. And you can't email the people involved cause they only help customers. This is why we aren't seeing any changes... I've looked up the company and they are the middle man for many online games. They apparently are the problem for a lot of these said online games. And because they are probably the lowest bidder, we get the shaft. Just thought I'd let everyone know what I was able to dig up.

    I'd just like to add my 2 cents worth and say that I too have all the above problems, and then some. I have been patiently waiting for some improvement on these server issues for more than a month now hoping that with each update it will be fixed or alleviated. Sadly, that is not the case. The game is close to being unplayable now. With all the tracerts I have done I'm starting to believe this to be either a bandwidth or an infrastructure (hardware) issue... which may take some time to fix, if ever, since solving it will take money, lots of it.

    My latest support ticket, I was sent 'fix' instructions for Neverwinter. Pretty helpful

    I have never experience such bad connection to the game since beta test. "Server Not Responding" should be Cryptics motto at this point. This seems to be a uniquely Cryptic issue, as I do not experience this in any of the other 10+ non-cryptic MMO's that I currently play. It is awesome that they do events and such but what good are they if you cant play the game! SNR every 10-20 seconds. Cryptic needs to clean house and get some people that give a damn once again.
    Seems the only two reliable things in this game currently. Are Rubber banding and server not responding.

    I downloaded STO for the PS4 just 2 days ago and the game is unplayable in its current state. I feel ripped off. I have played it on my mac and i dont remember disconnections ever being this bad. Literally i log on start playing and within 1 to 2 minutes max i get the red "server not responding" message at the top of the screen. The game freezes and then after an eternity of it being stuck i get kicked out to the main log in screen. i cant play more than 2 minutes at a time. In order to make any progress you have to log in to the game more than 10 times during the course of one sit through and then I give up and walk away hoping tomorrow will be a better experience.... This has now gone on for 2 evenings.

    i hope that this is just a problem of everyone wanting to log in to STO on the ps4srvers because it is a new game and that after a few days things will become normal, but i am starting to dread that it is actually par for the course after having read all the comments on this thread. I was dumb and paid for the starfleet pack upfront when i downloaded the game on the ps4. I cant help feeling as if Cryptic has robbed me.

    I am at ONE damn mirror event from getting the ship. Guess what? Disconnections from server ALL the time, and then I am able to reconnect inmediately... BUT I'm out of the team, in another instance, so the game kicks me out.
    So I have tried FIVE damn times today. Not even once I was able to stay more than seven minutes in the map.

    Same predicament here. All was fine and dandy immediately after console launch but then suddenly things seem to have gone back to pre-console days when disconnections, SNRs and "Waiting for server response" is the norm...

    This is TRIBBLE now...After selecting my toon the loading bar progresses to around 90% then boom 120 seconds SNR's 5 f'ín times in a row..Then once in and qued for a random PvE for rubberbanding at will and then the mirror event was a forgone conclusion where I couldnt get off a single shot but got hit by a hundred and blown into oblivion because of the SNR's and lags and all the possible server side TRIBBLE..

    I have been playin for a little bit (since Beta to be exact) and am getting a little sick of being lagged out of the game after a single map change, for every character, every night... Every time I try to go to my fleets starbase/embassy/whatever, I get server not responding for up to (this time 450 seconds) and then being DC'd.. this has been the norm since Delta expansion.. Would you all ( programmers) fix this please

    I've noticed this on Xbox One also, I get a lot of "server not responding" messages and get disconnected every 20 minutes or so. It's funny how I can play all my other Xbox One games online flawlessly without any problems, but this one...


    But seeing as no one from Cryptic has responded to this thread yet, I am guessing they really don't care. Maybe they'll put a "server stabilizer" in the C-Store ;)

    This is depressing. I installed the game on Sunday and have been really enjoying it for the last two evenings.

    Today, I can't stay connected for more than five minutes at a time.

    I'm 90% sure it's not my ISP -my wife has been playing Dragon Quest X MMO just about all day with no problems, and that's a Wii U game...Wii U! C'mon!

    Besides I played DC Universe Online for months on Xbox One before getting STO with little to no disconnections.. maybe 4 times in the 5-6 months I've had it. And if it was MY ISP disconnecting me, wouldn't I also be disconnected from Xbox Live!?

    I'm a lifetime member and love the game. I buy ships and packs all the time. I literally cannot play the game any more because I'm so sick and tired of being disconnected every five minutes or so (AND NOT HEARING A SINGLE THING FROM THE STAFF ABOUT PLANNING TO TRY TO FIX THESE ISSUES). So, I guess I am being forced to find another game not run by this company.

    the reason the servers are disconnecting is because of children on school holidays DDOSING the servers. i see them all the time spamming their TRIBBLE links to scam sites, begging for money like pathetic tiny people. they should get a real job and stop being so lazy and ignorant. I was going to spend some money on this game and support it, and now i am thinking about deleting it off my xbox. its a 15gb waste of hard drive space. everytime you login (IF you can get that far) you are logged out or SNR within 10 seconds of gameplay, accompanied by either chat errors, or chat spam. are peoples lives seriously that sad and pathetic?

    after further reading of the forums, i see the developers are just as ignorant as the spammers. blaming the user's isp for the packet loss and SNR messages, when its clearly up to the server admins to fix the ddosing issue for one, and ban the spammers and block their ip. how hard is it? rather sit on your TRIBBLE and collect money. well this 15gb piece of trash has one more chance to work then its being deleted off my hard drive, never to return. These servers are worse than EA games and ubisoft put together. any wonder STO is free, who the hell in their right mind would pay for a game this shockingly bad?

    agreed. they love to blame it on the user. very ignorant company to not accept the fact that its them.

    well you are running it on ps4. there is half your problem right there. the ps4 is alot slower than the xbox one, and would be more proned to overloading and crashing the game.hopefully they can add some performance enhancing options for ps4. but you cant get blood from a stone

    Well after 2 days of constant SNR's and disconnects, now the game simply refuses to load. It's stuck at version verification (after login) and has been stuck for two hours now... My internet's fine, I can load, play, download, upload to any site that I connect to, except for STO game servers...

    I can confirm that this issue isn't our ISP. I only disconnect from this game every 5 mins. Every other game runs fine without issues.

This thread regarding YOUR CRAPPY SERVERS across the board is blowing up so fast you at cryptic can kiss your income and/or potential income from this game good bye!! Every F'in time I log in I get a regular 120 sec SNR 5 F'in times in a row..PvE's are stop motion animation (Actually worse)..And randomly there are SNR's and DC's in sector space..Game optimisation is a whole different thread all together cause that is also TRIBBLE..


    I love this franchise alot and this game has the right idea somewhat and is one of the only actual trek based MMORPG's out there, but WTF..Cryptic is out to destroy a potential success it has on hand and also turn away millions of fans of the franchise from subbing to this game (I'm one of them)..Its like how GEARBOX F'ed up ALIENS: Colonial Marines so bad that people cancelled orders and those who pre ordered and got it were returning the game and getting a refund on steam under false advertisment..

    I have alot more to say but it will be of no avail as the cryptic staff especiallly the developers who claim to monitor the threads are choosing to blatanly ignore the server issue there is..I am yet to see a response on this thread from anybody from cryptics STO team...Really disappointing because now I have reduced from logging in daily to about twice a week to about never because of the server issues this game has..Slowly going back to SWTOR...

    Agreed, since the last couple of update/patches/server maintenance, the connectivity to the servers have been steadily getting worse.

    Seems like cogent is the problem not Cryptic.
    When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

    Just to throw in my 2 cents (for what it's worth)...

    Had issues opening the launcher (restart), then it had issues connecting to the account server (restart), then, when the game finally loaded, it wouldn't load the toon I selected (restart), then, when I was actually able to get in-game, connectivity was so bad, it wasn't playable.

    I know it's not a connectivity issue on my end, as I've run multiple speed tests, can connect to other sites with no issues, and can stream music & video simultaneously with no issues.

    Hope they get this fixed soon.

    Here's a quote to my earlier post on a different thread. Seems cogent definitely was the issue for me and may be for you too. If you don't know, Cogent is supposedly Cryptic's internet provider and they do have connection issues that Cryptic has no control over.
