I didn't see it in the thread, but I'm probably late to the reporting game anyway.
I know there are UI glitches all over the place, but the "Assign Ship" pane is different between Fed and KDF characters. The Fed one is expanded to the left to display the rarity checkboxen, with the type and tier as pulldowns, and the ships on the right. The KDF version has the type and tier pulldowns above the ship list, and no rarity selection at all.

what I mean is, say you have 80% chance for success and 30% chance to crit.
Does it first roll for success, and then only if you obtain success, roll for crit,
Or, does it roll for both, and give you the best outcome of the two rolls.
In order to Crit, you must first Succeed. If you have an 80% chance of success, and still manage to Fail, you will not be given a chance to roll for Critical Success - the outcome stops there. However, if you succeed @ 80%, you will then roll a second time (vs. 30%) to see if that Success turns into a Critical Success.
Does that answer it clearly enough

A few comments on my initial impressions of the system, we need a way to see our ship cards besides doing assignments. A nice collect them all screen with ships, not in your inventory would be a great additions.
Go to your duty officer roster tab, there's a ship roster there now.
That's a odd place to put that, considering they are suppose to be separate systems..
A few comments on my initial impressions of the system, we need a way to see our ship cards besides doing assignments. A nice collect them all screen with ships, not in your inventory would be a great additions.
Ships that get bonuses to going alone, I think it needs to be changed to when ___ ship is the only one of it's class or their bonuses need to be higher. This will make these ships a little more useful.
Enh... it's a +30 bonus, that's a lot higher than the other stat bonuses ships get. Actually, bonus stat abilities are weak in general. The rest of them won't give more than +12 stat points.
+20 for the oddys... I have one that has +15 and another +15 . Also I think it's poor game play to encourage so many ships to be alone only ships.. It can easily be perceived as simply encourage the acquiring of less popular ships, for nothing more then more efficient use in higher requirement missions. If it was only that class they would have a lot more versatility in the use of their unique trait. As it stands now i would only send them in higher requirement missions if they were the only ship I had available. In card games you don't make cards that their advantage is only used in very specific situations, unless you want that card to be throw away. But of course that's my opinion, but I don't see how my suggestion of making the trait a only when it is the only ___ class would change too much if you just want to use it alone the bonus would still apply but you could make a group were the bonus would still apply too.
Not all assignments NEED three ships. some are literally just 10/10/10 or 30/30/30. A ship that gets a bonus for being alone is perfect for these.
I do know this, and that was the only situation in which you really can benefit from their traits.. So relegate oddy flagships to simple assignments because that's what they are great at +1 immersion. That was sarcasm. Honestly why do you argue against my suggestion ? it almost feels like your being contrary to be just contrary, When you haven't really explained why it would be a bad thing.
To change them to when the ship is the only ___ (engineering or tactical or science) ship. You get +20 ___ etc. It would only make it more flexible, and be more immersive.
It'd be kinda op compared to the other stat boost effects. Such as:
The special ability text for the Breen Chel Grett Warship is probably wrong. I guess it's either "+3 ENG per SciShip or TacShip" or "+3 ENG and SCI per TacShip".
I think it should say "and" not "or". Either way this one seems to cap at +6/0/+6.
Anyways, getting +20 or +30 just for being the only Eng ship.. yeah, that's OP.
I know that this may not be the right place for this but is there anyway that the lower level ships be put into boxes that way ppl who want those cards can get them but not keep the ships and when i say low level i mean the likes of the T1, T2 & T3 ships
I like the system and it does feel a little more intricate than the doff system but I wish there had been more in the way of story and decision making. so for example you have a mission that says make first contact with a new species. depending how the mission goes it affects the options you next have available. there may not be an ultimate right or wrong way the chain goes.
maybe if first contact is a success and you can set up an embassy, maybe you can then start trading with them if that succeeds too. if it fails then maybe they are aggressive and attack you. Then you have a choice do you attack back, withdraw or try diplomacy. I was hoping to feel like I was making decisions that affected the galaxy rather than just generic missions with no story text attached.
I don't know if more complex mission trees can be added, or even just linear story missions would be a bonus. the tour of duty missions seem like that would have been a good place to start.
At the moment it feels like a slightly more complex duty office system and we were told that wasn't what it was going to be. maybe its been built with expansion in mind but I don't think its really hitting its mark. its a fun little side game but it could have been more.
I know that this may not be the right place for this but is there anyway that the lower level ships be put into boxes that way ppl who want those cards can get them but not keep the ships and when i say low level i mean the likes of the T1, T2 & T3 ships
i wonder if at level 52 when the system opens up all the common T1,T2,T3,T4, and T5 ships are just given to you.
this way you are given sort of a starter pack much like the starter doffs. as i can just see people complaining when this becomes live do to lack of ships they have access too
Before it's too late I'd like to point out that the choice of bonus for the various 3packs is.... suboptimal. +20 to its profession variant while alone on its own doesn't sound too bad at first, only giving it to ALL four triple packs is.
Flagships, Dyson Destroyers, Command Cruisers & Pilot Escorts all got stuck with the same bonus. That is 6x T5 cards and 6x T6 cards you can compensate as a fed more or less good but as a kdf or rom?
Why not change some of them to +x if NOT alone, +x if on a 'full team' or +x if teamed with other variant of the 3pack?
Maintenance timers when first logging onto a character are incorrect: All of mine when I logged on today looked as if they only just started, instead of when the assignments completed. Changing maps fixes this and brings the ships off maintenance.
-edit-
This was wrong. ALL maintenance timers are being cleared on map change, not just ones that should have completed. I just did a 15 minute assignment, saw my ships in maintenance ranging from 10 minutes to 4 hours, beamed down to Drozana and all of them were cleared.
Borticuscryptic,
I think I found the problem with occasional dil not being awarded and ec never being awarded even tho they are listed in the rewards box.
First I deleted and recopied the character to Tribble. Now he gets the dil whenever it is listed as a reward. No idea why that worked but it seems to have fixed that problem for now.
The ec not rewarding is probably because Tribble is not recognizing that I bought the cap from the c-store some years back. The character is FTP and currently has 57mil+ ec. It would also explain why my other character on Tribble collects the ec just fine. That one only has 1.7 mil currently.

There are certain other ships that get similar bonuses. One of the Klingon ships gets +15/0/15 when alone.

2.5% of __is actually usually a bigger payout then +20 and +30 But even so I think it's really a case that those bonuses are tuned a little low. I still stand by that 'cards' that only gains a benefit by being by it's self exclusively is not very immersive or interesting.
I've been playing around a bit with the system for the last few days. Overall I like it.
Some DOFF missions have a little blurb about what happened after you finish them. I'd love to have a bit of text for missions that have been resolved. A couple sentences would be plenty. Success "The cargo was delivered with no problems." Fail "Somehow the wrong parts were delivered." Crit "Things went so well that you managed a second round trip!"
I find the special abilities of the Command Battlecruisers to be very strange. They are ships that are all about being strong on a team, while in the Admiralty system they are strongest when alone.
Playing around with bonuses just now, I noticed the Borg Transwarp Gateway! event seemed to be rewarding 200 instead of 100, Temporal Vortex! also+ 200 instead of 0, Scavenger Party 20 instead of 0, Wormhole! +100 instead of 0. Also, many missions seem to double count overages and ignore any ship *x bonuses from x stat. Maybe I'm missing something or looking at it wrong?
Is it intended that ships don't count themselves for stat bonuses unless it specifically states "if alone?"?

Can we get some more (canon) KDF outfits, an assortment of respectable skirts/dresses, a long jacket (and more clothes in general) that does plain white well, melee weapon and Mk 15 drops, a T6 Nova, and account-wide lockbox/lobi/promo ships & consoles? Oh, and...
I really like the Admiralty system so far, and I know it's still a work in progress, but I was wondering what the intention was with when maintenance times will begin. Right now they appear to begin when you claim the rewards or acknowledge the report from the previous assignment. This means that if I run a short assignment, but don't log in until the next night to claim it then a ships (if tier V) are out of commission for two days. I'm hoping that eventually maintenance time will begin as soon as the assignment is complete. If the system cannot support that then perhaps it would be possible to subtract the time between assignment complete and claiming rewards from the maintenance time.
Another thing that would help with immersion and make it feel more like sending our own ships out would be if when displaying the ship's card, if the player has that class of ship commissioned in a ship slot, substitute the player's ship name for the name on the card (but still include the class of ship on a separate line). If it wouldn't be possible for the display routine that shows the card, perhaps the commissioned ship's name could be optionally included in the ship listing. Displaying a picture of the player's specific ship in place of the stock ship picture would also be a nice touch as well.
Since it's still a work in progress, you might already plan on doing these things, but I figured I'd just throw this in here as my feedback.

Do I have enough forum karma to post images? Anyway, my KDF is identical to yours, but my Fed was stuck in
After poking, I figured it out - it's related to the DOff Filters display status.
Go DOffing.
Find an Assignment.
Plan.
On the DOff selector, click the "Show Filters". Assign or X.
Go to Admiralty
Find a Mission.
Plan.
Select a Ship. Voila, "filters."
Repeat steps 1-3.
On the DOff selector, click "Hide Filters". Assign or X.
Repeat steps 5-7
Select a Ship. The filters are hidden.
So the good news is that the bug isn't an inconsistency between factions. It's "just" a UI inconsistency due to the new modal picking up display states from another segment of the UI and not having its own way to change that state.

Ahhh ok, I see what you mean yeah. I get the feeling we're not supposed to have a rarity selection at all for the Admiralty system so yeah the bug is probably that it's keeping that info from the DOFF selection screen.

Let me guess, its rewarding just the bonus XP that you unlocked with T2, and not the Standard XP Rewards+Bonus XP...
Okay back on Topic...
I'm seeing a bug where the stats on Ships are not updating in the list when selecting a ship for a mission.
Problem is its very random when it happens, and I can never get it on film.
Repro:
Open Admiralty Window
Choose to Start a Mission,
Hit the Select ship Button
Filter down to one single Career Type (Tac)
View the Stats on a Ship. Last one in List
Close the window.
Repeat 1-3
Filter to a Different Career (Eng)
Scroll to the Bottom of the List without hovering over ANY ships.
Sometimes the Stats on the Last Ship will show the information for the Tac Ship and not the Engineering Ship.

The intent is that the maintenance time will start as soon as the assignment time is over, regardless of whether or not you're logged in. That's not how it's currently working, though.
I really really want the ships to carry the names I have given them. It is integral to an RPG for your "pets" to bear your chosen names. I want to feel at least a little bit of immersion :-(
BUG (?): Prisoners don't seem to be dropping from admiralty system missions.
EXAMPLE: Escort High-Security Prisoner Transport (Rare KDF path mission).
When running missions that should reward prisoners, I haven't received any to date. First, I thought it might be silently failing due to a full roster, but ran another two missions, made sure i had roster space, and nothing.
Are doffs/prisoners just not hooked up yet?
*** EDIT: Yes, they do in fact drop, just boxed and not direct-to-roster -- my mistake; however, they do not seem to show in the loot drop popup notification over the chat window (?). ***

I have received a few prisoners, though I think only on my Fed toon so far and I can't recall what mission it was from. I'll try looking for that specific mission in the KDF side and check it out.

They should be. My FED SCI Lv 60 got today (all still boxed up in the Inventory) 6 Prisoners from the Klingon Campaign (Capture Violent Escaped Criminal - success) and 4 Colonists from the Klingon Campaign (Escort Colonial Convoy through Klingon Space - critical).
Rhetorical question and bug report: Are Admiralty ships supposed to be used for DoFF assignments? I am assuming not but for one of my DS9 Haggle for... missions, My Jem'Hadar strike ship showed up as a "DoFF".
An impressive bargaining ship...err chip. I would assume you´ll get a very generous offer.

Ah! Your "still boxed" comment made me double-check. I'd simply assumed they'd go to roster, not boxed, but there they are!
What they still don't *seem* to do, as best I can recall, is show up in your loot drop notification (the one that shows above your chat window).

KDF there are several DOFF missions in regards to getting rid of prisoners. The one at the Security Officer at Hubs and Starbases is Consign Prisoners to Labor Battalions. There are similar Labor missions in the Eta and Pi Canis Sectors, or the rarer Prisoner Exchange.
The Federation is limited only to the Prisoner Exchange mission and the Security Officer Prisoner Exchange DOFF missions. Which is why I asked Borticus if he could create one or two more missions that aid with the growing prisoner populations.
Can there be a way to unlock my lower level ships for the admiralty system without having to unpack them into your ship inventory first? It's a proper pain to have to dismiss a ship in order to do this.
Maybe by adding an extra button to the ship purchase UI and an extra option to the right context menu for boxed ships?

After poking, I figured it out - it's related to the DOff Filters display status.
Repro:
The intent is that the maintenance time will start as soon as the assignment time is over, regardless of whether or not you're logged in. That's not how it's currently working, though.
STOWiki admin.

EDIT: Yes, they do in fact drop, just boxed and not direct-to-roster -- my mistake; however, they do not seem to show in the loot drop popup notification over the chat window (?).

I have received a few prisoners, though I think only on my Fed toon so far and I can't recall what mission it was from. I'll try looking for that specific mission in the KDF side and check it out.

Update: Saw colonist reward boxes in the chat notification popup; will keep an eye out for prisoners (mission finishing later today, i think)

Maybe by adding an extra button to the ship purchase UI and an extra option to the right context menu for boxed ships?
