We will be bringing down the Tribble server for maintenance to apply a new update: ST.45.20140928a.1

No Win Scenario now has all three difficulty settings.
    • Accolades are now only given out in Elite mode.

This pleases me in my heart.

    Added a Defeated Recap feature.
    - This is a small window which appears upon being defeated.
    - It will show what entity, the power, and the damage it dealt to defeat the player.

Thank you. This will help people a lot.

I didn't demand; I'm just expressing my disappointment at what I was under the impression would be a great player-commanded mechanic not allowing the player to command it, and no one seeming to care, but me.

Mostly we just end up editing the notes that the designers write. :)
(But even that can sometimes cause a headache.)

Gurlz been workin hard... seeing those twitter posts into the weee hours of the morning while still working on all those foundry updates. You will need a month off when this is done.

Holy smurf, this is a surprise. I've suspected new uniforms for the Intel crew, but I didn't think it'd actually happen...

And they're available to Intel BOFFs too, right? And any Captain who levels the Intel specialization?

Look closer to the patch notes, these costumes were added to the character creator in the Foundry editor only.

    Really?
I posted it quite a few posts before a Cryptic Studios Member showed up, and they said nothing about MY post while they addressed concerns AROUND my post.

Explaining (sort of) how typing up the patch notes works isn't exactly addressing a concern. Usually when I see posts about mechanics questions being answered it's when Bort is posting in a thread and I haven't seen him in here yet.

As for uncontrollable boff abilities I'm sure that's not working right because there's no good reason to move away from that as a model but there's lots of ways to break the game when you're adding stuff to what's already a horribly complicated system. Probably they just forgot to plug those abilities into the ground boff tray the same way they forgot to stick the more unusual mods like [CritX] and [Borg] into the upgrade system.

Which is fine - just the emphasis on 'MY' and 'AROUND my post' gave me the wrong impression, sorry.

And really, it just needs time; there's a lot of things in these patch notes, a number more major to some players than an aspect of Intel Boffs.

No I know what the patch notes says, but why would new costumes only exist in the Foundry? Odds are they'll be released to player captains and/or BOFFs, as their presence in the Foundry implies that.

The Foundry has many costume pieces that aren't available to players or their Bridge Officers.

And to the poster who is upset that I didn't answer a question about one of the systems, that's not part of my domain. I am a producer for the art teams, and I handle many of the Foundry additions. Thus, I keep my replies to those topics. :)

    • Reduced the recharge time of all console abilities that had a 3 minute (or greater) recharge time to 2 minutes.

I am simultaneously excited and terrified by this.

    Content:
    • 8,000 – 16,000 Skill Points based on average time in queue.
    • 240, 480, or 960 Dilithium based on difficulty.
    • No queue will reward gear.

Oh, and this just got pointed out to me.

WHAT THE EVERLOVING SISKO IS THIS?! I thought the point of the new Elite was to award MORE. Not to award the SAME and lower everything ELSE! It's already too low as it frakking IS, now you make it worse? When you just added ANOTHER massive Dilithium sink?

Cryptic, it's like you don't even like your players. This is NONSENSE. More Dilithium costs. No refining cap increase. And now it's harder to GET. And now the new Nightmare-level Elite... isn't even worth playing, since its value NOW is equal to what Advanced USED to be before Elite came to be. I don't even MIND the drops not being gear anymore, I always greeded everything and got nothing anyway, so that just removes an annoyance for me. But now you nerf Dilithium outputs. DID YOU NOT LEARN FROM THIS AFTER SEASON 7, CRYPTIC?! Players hated it last time, and guess what? THEY STILL HATE IT. Please please PLEASE revert this. Make Elite give 1440 or something. It's supposed to be HARDER than Holodeck Elite now, so why shouldn't it award MORE than what Holodeck Elite gives?

But that's not the only information available here. The patch notes says that they're Intel uniforms. The Intel specialization is brand-new to us, which implies that each element of the theme has a chance of making it to player character access. Plus, there have been examples of elements existing in the Foundry(er rather, Tribble Foundry) first that have then became available outside Tribble. The example that immediately comes to mind is the Risian Cruiser.

If you wanna keep it hush-hush, that's fine. I'm just pointing out that it's reasonable to conclude the possibility of it. =)

    Agreed. Should be:

    Normal: 480 Dilithium
Advanced: 960 Dilithium (same as current Elite on Holodeck)
Elite: 1440 Dilithium (old Elite amount)

Not sure why they chose to remove the random item reward. After the massive nerf to EC values, the EC income generation has taken a considerable nosedive anyways.

    Agreed!

I believe it's due to the fact that, before, only some queues rewarded Dil, and thus had higher rewards. Now ALL queues reward Dil, and it's normalized to compensate. And after earning enough Specialization Points, those are converted into Dil, another source to add to this.

Plus any Dil refining increase would upset the Zen-to-Dil exchange, I think

I understand his point though having used some of those boffs. Namely the one that supposed to transport the enemy close to you and placate/confuse them. My Boff would arbitrarily activate that and the enemy would be in front of me one moment and behind me the next because your boffs typically follow you. I was then taking flanking damage to my backside. So it is definitely something that needs addressed or it makes them useless for some of those special skills.

I also don't think you need to beat a dead horse a page later for lack of a response. I just made a bug report and moved on knowing eventually it will get fixed or I, like you, will not use these Boffs.

It would upset it. FOR THE BETTER. There are tons of massive Dilithium sinks in this game as is, and the refining cap means to do ANYTHING without waiting months on end, you NEED to by it. At this point, every new Dilithium sink is Crypic saying "give me money." 8k is simply not sufficient. Even with Fleet and Veteran, you're going nowhere fast unless you spend your entire life in-game. Which you can't. No. At this point, a refining increase is desperately needed. It's getting to the point that, if players aren't in a massive 500-player fleet, that fleet can't progress because they can't afford to contribute Dilithium. Between Reps, Crafting, Upgrading, and Fleet Gear, 8k hasn't been enough for a LONG time.

      • Improved its base hull value from 24,000 to 25,500.
      • Improved its shield modifier from 0.85 to 0.9.
      • Improved its turn rate from 17 to 20.
      • Improved its impulse speed from 0.15 to 0.22.
      • Added Raider Flanking, allowing it to gain a damage bonus when attacking a targets' rear arc.
        • +25% Damage vs. NPCs, +8.33% Damage vs. Players.
      • Can now equip Console - Universal - Cloaking Device.
      • All seats, except Commander Tactical, have been upgraded to be Universal.
    • Renamed Fleet Aquarius Destroyer to Fleet Aquarius Light Escort.
      • Improved its base hull value from 26,400 to 28,050.
      • Improved its shield modifier from 0.935 to 0.99.
Players.
      • Can now equip Starfleet Cloaking Device.
      • All seats, except Commander Tactical, have been upgraded to be Universal.
      • T5-U versions of this starship will benefit from the improvements above.
      • Fleet Aquarius Light Escort [T5-U].
        • This starship now has the Raider Starship Mastery package:
          • Level 1: Precise Weapon Systems (+Accuracy)
          • Level 2: Tactical Maneuver (+Defense)
          • Level 3: Enhanced Weapon Systems (+Damage)
          • Level 4: Enhanced Weapon Banks (+Crit Severity)

I don't even know what to say to this, I really don't. The Federation gets a BoP that is better then KDF BoPs. It is faster, has way more shields, more hull, more boff powers. Given these stats, when will every KDF BoP get a shieldmod of 0,99? When will the Fleet Norgh get its 10th console? After taking cloaks, did you have to take what little uniqueness there was in being KDF as well?

I'm amazed at myself for being both surprised and disapointed Cryptic. I hope you will surprise me pleasantly with the KDF getting some love on our BoP's soon, I really do. Surprise me again, but this time make it a pleasant surprise. Please. Throw the KDF a bone, announce a T6 BoP, give our BoP's a little higher impulse mods, a little more shields, anything. We don't ask for much, just a little bit of love and attention.
Lost and Delirious... and Disenchanted too
Apparently some forum posters have diplomatic immunity nowadays, where can I get mine?

And yet, with alts, even with just 2k Dil per alt via Turn in Contraband, you can convert that Dil into Zen... and then on the character that you wish, turn it back into Dil. Using this method bypasses the cap entirely, because it rewards refined Dil to the character who needs it. I've done fine that way, without fleet or Vet refiners imo

It's not necessary to hit the cap, or to get these 'sinks' done right away - which btw are meant to take time to complete

And I'm not so sure it would actually be 'for the better' - I more likely see that, due to the new large influx of Dil, people would drive up the prices on the exchange as a result. Then it would take even longer to get for those who can't play regularly or don't want to hit the cap, and thus cause issues in the long run
