i am also curios about one thing the star ship traits can we use one from one ship on another ship and how many can we use?

You'll have four Starship Trait slots on your character. The Starship Traits unlock for your character, so you can use them on any ship.

Why does this tier "6" ship come with only 10 consoles slots, while all the others have 11 ?

T6 ships only have 10 consoles. Fleet T6 ships will have 11 consoles.
T5-U ships will have 10 consoles. Fleet T5-U ships have 11 consoles.

I'm not impressed. No surprise here, tac heavy ships with lots of firepower while all the new "elite" content and new stfs are dps races once again. Yawn.

Making the Dauntless tac heavy is even more borderline ridiculous than the Fleet Nova. The Dauntless was even identified on screen as having less firepower than an Intrepid class ship. And why Starfleet would copy the blueprints from a hastily alien diversion instead of designing their own ships... ah, don't think, Targ, don't think. This is STO, logic, rhyme or reason have no room here.

I'm probably the only one here who liked the Tron-esque T6 designs (though only for certain captains I plan to have man them; the rest would use a more traditional skin) enough, so I guess I'll be the first one to say it here: I hope all the newly revealed ships also have an optional Tron-esque design available to them as well. I'd even settle for a silly Tron-upped JJ Vengeance/Galaxy/Guardian hybrid if they're lacking in imagination for a Tron Guardian.

They would form the core of my own Section 31 Tron Division captains.

Use the Veteran skin and the Aegis shield. Should be Tron enough for you. :)

When are we getting one that looks like oddy? THere is quite a few of us that are oddy lovers.

    i completely agree with this

talking from a logical point Species 116 from what we saw were not a warlike race , they were thinkers and problem solvers with what he said , being one step ahead of the borg and the ship on the show showed more to be a scientific ship rather then heavy on the tac spots

and seeing it has no dual cannon spots and only the 3/3 weapons it would not be so heady to have both a Lt commander tac and a Lieutenant tac bridge officer layout , one or the other but not both locked in

i feel it would be more towards what was said science with eng secondary

and there fore completely useless, right now this is the first sci ship i think about touching in years, because it has a good boff layout. And not gimps your team when you join any endgame queue.

For a science ship it has a bad boff layout, what do we need with 5 tactical skills.. but only can have 6 weapons on our ship. We need more science or engineering slots. I am still hopeing cause like they say the stats are not final, that it will change before launch.

Okay, I will wait for the final cut on release to make my judgement then.

I thought this through and I like a more tactical/damage-dealing science vessel. As a matter of fact, I've been trying to do this with my current ship as best I can...so I love the Dauntless class.

I have planned and pre-trained my two tactical offciers in space abilities thus in anticipation:

Lt Tactical Officer: Torpedo spread and attack pattern beta

Lt Commander Tactical Officer: Torpedo high yield, beam array overload and attack pattern omega

I'm conifdent that with such a shake up to my crew in this new ship, I'll be able to be more offensive and defensive in a battle...as the mood or need strikes me. Just my few cents worth anyhow...

Not too impressed with the romulan warbird (what's warp shadow decoy compared to overwhelming force?) but the rest looks good enough that I'm considering buying the pack.

Let me lay it out plainly:

    1) They are giving us the ability to upgrade our ships. For Zen, of course.

    2) These upgraded ships are not as good as the T6 ships being released alongside them.

It's not a matter of them 'not remaining top tear forever'. These are upgraded ships they are releasing are obsolete from the moment of their release by design. It's not the same thing as talking about a T5 vs a T6. Nobody expects the old T5 ships to be on par with the T6 ships, because they are a tier higher. Just like How I wouldn't expect my saber class to compete with a scimitar.

However, I can (and have) paid to upgrade my Saber to fleet-grade. Cryptic is here giving us the ability to ostensibly upgrade our ships in a similar manner, but by design they are making those upgrades inferior.

It's not a problem that The T5/T5.5 ships are going to be inferior to the T6 ships. It's not a problem that we have to pay to upgrade them. It's a problem that that upgrade doesn't bring them quite up to par.

QFT. This sums up my thoughts on the topic precisely. I disagree with Cryptics decision on a number of different levels.

That said, I will be picking up the Guardian (and would do so even if I could take my Fleet Excelsior to full T6). She's a fine piece of ship, ADORE the look and BOFF layout.

Its just a shame that I wont be able to T6-ify my Charal, D'Dex, B'Rel and Excelsior also. As it stands, Im only gonna pay to upgrade the B'Rel, and thats because theres no T6 BoP (Im betting that even if there is a T6Bop down the line, it probably wont have the Brels unique EBC, so the Brel will still be the best Sci Torp boat there is.

On an unrelated note, I really really really hope the Guardian gets a 4th Tac console at Fleet level.

A quick question, does anyone know if Grav Well's pull effect an radius are affected by Aux power level? Its just I run Aux-to-Batt, and would like to continue doing so on the Guardian.

recluse can easily do 15k dps and also has only 3 weapon slots, and less tac console slots.

More sci/eng boff seats will do nothing for dps which will be badly needed with DR.

As a tac captain who loved the Sovy, but eventually moved on to a Tac Odyssey, I really like the look of the Guardian. I can see myself flying her without an issue. But stats aside, I have a burning question - will it receive it's own unique bridge? Enquiring minds want to know! :)

The Dauntless was never shown to be a tactical ship in the show and seeing the rest of the T6 ships have a universal bridge officer spot it wouldn't go against anything to have one of the tactical bridge officer stations go universal so that we all can customize it to our own preference .

Makes you feel more in tune with your ship when you can make it your own style , i did the same with my vesta , id chat with other vesta captains and see what they did , when you make it rigged you make it less versatile

And so far in this thread and others i have read , other then some not liking the visual look of the ship (which is peoples personal like ) i have not heard much about any other part of the ship other then some not into the light amount of tac consoles.

So i am calling out to the Dev's give it one more pass over and thought in the form of bridge officer stations .

The Dauntless was never show to be anything other than a trap for Voyager. It's more than likely Starfleet took the design and adapted it to their needs.

true did not show much and they adapted it to there use , and to make something have the ability to be a escort without the firepower makes it odd

if it had dual cannons with that layout then fine i can understand , but it does not

With the Delta Operations pack, we're introducing a plethora of new ships! Take a look at our latest blog by Phil “Gorngonzolla” Zeleski, Systems Designer showcasing a ton of new ships! From the sleek Dauntless to the intimidating Mat'ha Raptor, there are tons of new ships to check out!

Read more about it in our blog here.

    ~LaughingTrendy

    Cryptic,

I had to comment, because of the word choosing in the above quote, of a "plethora of new ships". The meaning of plethora is "a large or excessive amount of something.
    "

So, how is there a plethora of new ships being added in the Delta Rising expansion? Last time I checked, including the traditional and intel tier 6 ships, there is 5 Federation, 2 Klingon, and 2 Romulan ships being released. There are 4 types of ship classes in game, Science, Escort, Cruiser, and dreadnought.

Below is quick look at number of ships mentioned to be released with Delta Rising, for each faction, in each ship class.

    Science Tier 6 ships: Fed:2 Kling:0 Rom:0
    Escort Tier 6 ships: Fed:1 Kling:2 Rom:1
    Cruiser Tier 6 ships: Fed:2 Kling:0 Rom:1
    Dreadnought Tier 6 Ships: Fed:0 Kling:0 Rom:0

In conclusion, unless STO has another meaning of "Plethora", that's not the word I would use to describe the above situation for the lack of ships being released in Delta Rising. The only faction that comes close to having at least 1 ship of each class, and an option of 2 ships in 2 of the 4 classes, is the Federation. The klingons, well I guess a "Plethora" is having a choice is the escort type of ship. The Romulans, well...maybe if you want to choose between cruiser or escort for your science Captain.

9 is a rather large number to be releasing all at once; the faction breakdown is not really relevant to Trendy's statement, just the number of ships.

It's going to take them quite a while to expand this new tier out into addressing a decent range of styles.

Naturally, I expect that we'll have "DPS-oriented specialization #17" before we see "support-oriented specialization #1" with the way things tend to go. Either that or they'll call it "support-oriented" but somehow it will revolve mostly around upping exotic damage.

I do like the idea but if you went with the set up i got it makes more sense because the dauntless class ship didnt look like a tactical focus ship. However, my changes aren't probably going to get noticed by cryptic studios despite this being a better choice. Its the final product unfortunately because once they set everything up and its finished they cant really do anything about it. I was stating in my post because its a tier 6 ship it would have to be in competition with the Wells and even the Vesta in terms of science ships this set up they have currently is utter nonsense. I mean I'm a science captain and I was absolutly looking forward to having the dauntless class ship in my ship inventory because it looks amazing but now that the stats are out for it, its hardly worth it because the Wells class/Vesta class ships still trump that ship by a long shot. Statistically speaking because no one runs the Science/Tactical build ships because its not that great if it was a Science/Engneering ship it would rank in with the Wells/Vesta class ships but it doesn't for some unknown reason it seems that they want to expand the library of Science/Tactical ships. Which really makes me angry and disapointed at them, Stop cryptic for making more Tactical ships even if its Science/Tactical we dont like this aspect of it its a downgrade on Science captains and a disapointment for me. I want to see new ideas new aspects to the space combat for my ships Science/Engineering would make it a little bit more interesting.

I do like your suggestion much better, though it could also go with a lt.com tac, lt.com engineer, com science, lt. science/universal, ensign science/universal.

That would make it deliciously balanced for tac and eng with a sci focus... I don't know if it steps on the scryer's toes or not as I'm fairly certain the boff slots on that are a typo in the intel blog. I seem to recall a post afterward saying the slots were a typo but apparently no one bothered to go back and fix it? so... lol. It's not like you have to leave a typo because you made a post saying it was a typo. >>
