    Changes being made now:

-T5 is the channel standard now, though matches of any tier can still be formed via "handshake rules" with match participants.
-Equipment up to Mk XI blue is allowed.
-Storyline sets (Breen, Jem'hadar) are banned. This includes stuff like the Obelisk warp core, but does not include one-off pieces like the Paratrinic shield array.
-If [Borg] weapons ever existed as Mk X and someone has them, they are allowed.
    -No Veteran boffs
    -No preorder items allowed
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Now that T5 seems to be okay, I'd very much like a channel invite.

I still have a fully equipped ClassicPVP Fleet Escort (and when I say Fleet Escort, I'm an old man who means a regular 'patrol escort') that should work within the rules (unless I have too many Mk XI purple items, but I can change that I guess). And of course tons of old characters that were never upgraded and should have a variety valid setups.

(My poor RMC and Neodymium dish... I really liked these items in the days before the Borg set.)

I'll get you an invite when I get on unless someone does first.

The ship is fine so long as its max gear is Mk XI blue/Mk X purple. (one-off Mk XI purple mission items like Hargh'Peng are okay)

I think Nausicaan boffs should be added to the band list if they haven't been already.

When you say basic T5 ships, does that include retrofits in fleet shipyards, the ones that cost 200k fleet credits?

I think they would be acceptable, we allow their mirror versions after all.

May want to watch that, they've been boosted over the years, eg Defiant & B'rel come to mind. I'm not aware of any boosts to mirror ships.

Regarding Nausicans, keep in mind human boffs can be stacked to greatly reduce the impact of CC abilities. Perhaps limit the amount of each if it's an issue. Boffs w/efficient traits are available to both sides and not as strong as either imo.

To my knowledge, there's no plain T5 B'rel or Defiant in the fleet shipyards. Unless you're referencing the C-store ones, which are still banned atm.

    voporak,

we don't want to get our own power creep going.

stick to the cheap ships that everyone can get easy. 200k fleet creds is not cheap.

nor do i consider then vanilla.

    just be careful man.

    Alright, no ships from fleets.

Edit: What about the B'Rel? It's got plain T5 stats, but I'm really not sure if it is too unbalancing.

    well, its been out forever.

i think b'rel is ok. unless you had to pay for it thru c store or fleet creds. i cant remember how i got mine.

    isnt there a standard bop?.....

oh yeah, the one with the fixed boff seating....

idunno voporak, thats a tough call.

The B'Rel doesn't seem like it would be bad, since it can only shoot torps while cloaked and is otherwise a fragile ship. I think we should allow it.

    -no rep passives/actives
    -no traits
    -no reputation items
-no C-store items (ships are not items; see end of list)
    -no quad cannons
    -no universal consoles
-nothing that comes out of lockbox in general (except mirror ships)
-nothing from the lobi store at all
    -no doffs
    -no crafted items
    -no omni beams
    -no fleet stuff
    -no Nimbus pirates
    -no Jevonite hardpoints
-no Scorpion fighters from the Vault mission
-batteries and that Devidian phase thing are okay
-Romulans allowed, but no boffs with Infiltrator or Operative allowed.
    -No Veteran boffs
    -No Nausicaan boffs
-no using warp core/singularity active powers
-pets on flight deck cruisers restricted to max of blue quality, and only the "classic" ones - like, no swarmers, widow fighters, etc. that have been introduced since lock boxes
    -C-store T2, 3, 4 ships allowed
    -be courteous
    -be honorable

This is getting a bit out of hand with

Banning quad cannons (bad on their own)
all universal consoles (call MVAM cheese...)
the Scorpions from the vault (bad as well)
Romulans without Operative and Infiltrators is like asking someone to buy a new set of boff slots to buy the ones that are allowed.
-Nausicaans are a super common race on KDF side, come on. Just for a pity of a trait
-singularity cores have already less subsystem power. Would put warbirds at severe disadvantage
-no C-Store T5. They're already 9 console ships, at most you can restrict the fleet grade ones, but not those like the Excelsior, Defiant-R, MVAE, Galaxy-R etc.

Nausicaan boffs add 1.5% damage bonus that's a final mod, that's basically the same as a tac console

Stacking 5 of those is pretty damn good.

I was going to ban Romulans altogther, but decided to be lenient and let them join in only on the basis of not using the stuff that makes them overpowered. We have also already discussed quad cannons and are debating which C-store ships to allow. The poster above me pointed Nausicaan boffs are bad.

I don't think it's out of hand at all Ricardio.

It's about having fun without power creep. And having discussions on what we would like to see.

I agree with 95% of the proposed rule set. And it may need a bit of refining. True. But that's cool. We will get there.

Just stay positive in your responses please.

I think 9 console c-store ships should be allowed. Yanking universal consoles should negate the difference from level 40 ships. Only thing I'm not sure about are built in abilities like the lance, karfi phase thing, etc.

I think now that more ppl are interested we are going to get a more varied array of opinions.

I am in favor or the original proposed rule set. No c store anything.

Tho you bring up a good point. Something revolving around a 9 console rule does raise an eyebrow.

Edit: although I think we are going even further away from "vanilla" with the more concessions we take on.

I do think CStore ships should be allowed at some point lets keep it simple right now, see how things go before tripling the amount of allowable ships.

I like the current changes and lets see how they go.

    I'm on right now...Anyone for a 1v1?

C-store ships might be allowed at some point, but they'd each have to be looked at individually in comparison to free ships. At the T5 level, I don't want anything that's better than something else. The B'Rel is only allowed because it is an honestly subpar ship with a special power.

I agree, but so are Human boffs for anti CC like VM it's a bit Fed centric to ban Nausicans, Rommy, but not Human.

C-Store ships have had stat boosts over the years including speed/agility, shield, hull hp mods that other ships didn't get.

Edit: B'rel is my favorite ship, but I'll admit it got boosted relative to non-c-store ships. Mirror ships should provide the boff layout variety people maybe looking for. That said this could be an issue for Rommies since I don't think they have much if anything T5 that isn't a mirror ship.
