Might I suggest The Wrath of TRON instead? Legacy jokes are so last year, and DelTRON Rising just doesn't have the same ring to it. :D

Honestly, though, if they at least have access to less glowey skins they might be decent looking... something to test on Tribble when it becomes possible to do so. The one that looks like a personal fan in space, though, still isn't going to be my style unless there are alternate donut/saucer variations. We'll see when we see ;)

Q: What items in these packs are exclusive and cannot be obtained via the C-Store when Delta Rising launches in October?
A: The "Voyager", "Delta Quadrant Ambassador", and "Delta Quadrant Explorer" titles are exclusive to purchasers of the Operations Pack. The Special Delta Quadrant Duty Officer Mini-Pack is also exclusive in the sense that it will not be available in the C-Store for purchase, and contains three (3) unique Delta Quadrant Duty Officers that will join your crew. These Duty Officers are bound, cannot be donated to reputation or fleet holding projects, and provide no rewards upon dismissal. If all three are dismissed, you will be able to re-claim the mini-pack.

Well that sucks. I was hoping to be able to buy the doffs separately. It does make me assume that all 3 doffs are available for all factions.

But I'm wondering about the bridge officers. It seems to leave open the possibility each can be purchased separately in the c-store. But are all 3 boffs going to be available for all factions, or will it be 1 boff for each faction?

Judging by the looks of things the only Fed ship I can stand to look at is the Guardian Cruiser because I grew up with TNG and it looks similar to a Galaxy class. It is the only Fed ship I will buy because I think the rest are just outrageously ugly. I don't care how they perform. I wouldn't be caught dead flying a garbage scow, even if it can use DHC's. But the only way I will buy the Guardian Cruiser is if it can use saucer separation technology, which is the reason I didn't buy the Dreadnaught Cruiser until 2 days before the "Galaxy Reboot".

The Klingon and Romulan ships aren't too bad to look at.

Seriously though. Who is the dev that created the Scryer Intel Science Vessel and WTF were they smoking to come up with that TRIBBLE? Along with the Phantom and Eclipse, the Scryer looks too flat and jagged.

Well, for me its lights and shadows. I do like the look of the new klingon ships and the artwork for the new romulan Battlecruiser and i even have some hope for the Guardian Cruiser of the Feds, but those stealth Federation ships are not for me.
Granted, 120 euros for 8 ships, 3 upgrade tokens m six very rare Boffs and some other goodies isnt that bad a deal imho, but i think ill pick the stuff i like and buy them idividually.

For those fed ships i hope theyll get some alternative hull materials like type 6 for example to blend them in a little better.

Other than that ill upgrade my Scim, vesta, oddy and kumari to t5u and maybe my Tempest to t5u.

I cant say im dissapointed about the pack but not realy thrilled either. Would love to see faction specific packs. The klingons would be an easy buy for me, maybe the romulans too.
    Cruisers ftw!

We got more ships and 30 keys in LoR pack.

Then again, these are all T6 ships, whereas in LoR we had a bunch of T1-4 as well. But 10 keys or so would certainly sweeten this deal a bit.

So the Americans pay $124.99 which is £75 GBP but us in the UK have to pay 119 Euros which is £95 GBP, why does it cost us £20 GBP more?

Provide a Paypal link to pay in dollars or UK pounds, we do not use Euros in the UK and I'm sick of being shafted every time we buy something.

As far as the pack goes, as a dedicated Fed I'm not that impressed, the designs look pretty meh, who is it at Cryptic that thinks the Iconic Starship designs are not worthy of inclusion. At least the Klingon and the Romulan ships are recognisable. I hope the Galaxy Venture skin can be used on that cruiser.

Sort the pricing out for the UK and you'll get more buyers, give us iconic Federation designs like, you know, that ship that was stuck in the DQ for 7 years, then you may get more buyers, I want to play Star Trek online not TRON online.

    The Q and A http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/announcement.php?a=131
    Here is your answer (maybe)
Q: There seems to be a discrepancy in the price in US Dollars and Euro - why?
A: In your conversion, please ensure you are taking VAT into consideration.
This issue came up with the LoR packs also. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Value-added_tax The reason why you pay more is because of taxes added on while here in the U.S. it isn't common to be charged sales tax or any kind of tax for online purchases (not for virtual goods at least). For example I can purchase gems in Guild Wars 2 for their cash shop and not have to pay a tax on it. The same for purchasing zen through the website or buying zen cards at Wal-Mart.

Though it has been controversial with some calling on lawmakers here in the states to force states to charge sales tax for online purchases (mainly for physical goods because "brick-and-mortar" stores are said to be at a disadvantage).

Pretty cool pack. I won't be touching it as those Fed ships are honestly gross looking but if you want T6 and have multi faction alts, this is a pretty cool package.

    Chiming in again.

I see the DR pack comes with 3 ship upgrade tokens, presumably for upgrading T5 ships.

T5 ship upgrades blog http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/7002133 Bottom of the page:
Please note that everything detailed here is subject to change due to constructive feedback.
We also encourage you to hop onto our test server Tribble to experience this system first hand when it becomes available.
Fixed that for you. 'Cause, you know, the crafting revamp is in the state it's in because players ranted too much and you wanted CONSTRUCTIVE feedback and nobody gave it, right?

Players have given "feedback" on T5 ship upgrades.
    Things like:
    "make all ships upgradeable free"
    "make mirror ships upgradeable"
"I don't mind paying if it isn't too much"
"make it a one time purchase to upgrade all T5 ships on our account"
    and so on.

Well judging by the DR pack, Cryptic is stone cold set in charging us to upgrade each non-special ship. Each and every one of them (except mirror ships!). Though to be fair you buy an upgrade for your Galaxy-R only once and all Galaxy-R's for all current and future characters will be upgraded. And I bet the bonus console slot for an upgraded Galaxy-R will be engineering. How cool would that be to have a 6th engineering console slot on your fleet Galaxy-R and still have only 1 tactical boff station? Super awesome I know. Thanks for reading.

    But.........who ****ing knows anymore?

So, don't think this has been asked.

For the three ship upgrade tokens in this pack, it says we only get three per account on one character. So are they account bound, or character bound? If account bound, that sounds okay because I can swap them around to other characters via the bank. If character bound, not so good, since I personally don't have three ships that I want to upgrade on one character. So in the interest of knowledge, which is it?

    Thanks.

They have said that ship upgrades single purchase are account-wide unlocks. If you upgrade your Defiant on 1 character it will be upgraded for all other current and future characters. If the tokens are character bound then claim them on a character with the ships you feel are most important to upgrade first.

These new T6 Federation ships are fugly! I wouldn't use any of them even if they were added to the roster for free.

If this is what the future of Star Trek Online looks like then no thanks, once again going completely in the wrong direction.

I have stated it before and I'll state it again, Star Trek deserves better than this!

On the face of it, it would appear that what they said about our T5-U ships being competitive is just another lie to keep us spending on the game. Cloaking ships with all the bells and whistles and lances especially on that Romulan ship?

I'm obviously going to wait until I see the full specs, but at the moment this is looking more and more like more of Cryptics bad lies.

I no longer do any Bug Hunting work for Cryptic. I may resume if a serious attempt to fix the game is made.

Amen brother (or sister... whatever is correct).
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Ah the dreaded VAT, that could be the reason then. I wonder if it's possible for UK residents to buy from the US website or would that be illegal because we would be guilty of tax avoidance?

Well I thnk there would be laws about that, but they would have to prove it. Also is it worth the time and a sound choice of revenue to procecute you. I would follow the law.

    120 Euro

BWAHAHAHA what a laugh, there is not a chance - EVER that I would spend over a Ton on some digital freaking pixels.

The cost of STO DLC is simply put, REDONCULOUS!!!

Nevermind though, I still get to PEW PEW in the ships I do have, and am happy enough to use my Dilithium that comes from play to buy Zen to upgrade the Few Store ships I have to T5-U.

With the amount of ships avaliable, the mix between special abilities and consoles, Boff layouts, Rep Rewards and New Crafting, the New ship "Abilities" sound like just another option among the massive choices we have already. I do not see me rushing for any one of the t6 ships, kind of MEH for me like Lockbox ships.

I like my specific ships for my toons, and am happy with them!

    Tact Fed - MVaE
    Eng Fed - Oddey Tact
    Sci Fed - Atrox

Tact Kling - Karfi - Varanus
    Eng Kling - Vo'Quv Mirror - -Varanus

Rommie - don't know cause cant really be bothered levelling him up, Rommie story has not interested me as its so far misplaced its unreal! Siding with KDF or FED, like I mean what's that about!

I care not for the styling of the FED ships, the only one I see being the Galaxy class possibly.

Rommie and KDF get the better looking ships, but Rommie win on this for sure!

Once again, I think the most fun to be had in STO is flying crazy builds in underpowered ships in the hardest runs.

Bring on my Rainbow NC-1701 PEW PEW in STF's

    I am very disappointed...

    1) I have my zen and I'd like to buy using my zen, not paying again after buying/earning zen

    2) I have several toons, feds, klingons and romulans... I'd like to have the same options for all of them. Again we had 4 ships for the usual faction (at least one for each career), only 2 ships for klingon and romulans, none of them is a science vessel.

    3) definitelly feds get a cloacking device... so kdf and roms have no specific features

So ... after the aceton assimilator, battle cloak for everyone.
If you want to go this route, fine ... but then let us at least team together, feds, klinks and rommies.
I don't see the point of factions anymore and, moreover, the war is over, right?
And i keep reading of this holy Alliance...

I wish the pack came in different flavors like Fed only pack, KDF only pack, and Rom only pack as I honestly only play Fed I have no real interests in those other ships :/

Unless I can find out more about their console stats and cool downs and such and if they are universals or exclusive I those ships.

We have our new ships and we now have an actual date for DR Launch: Oct. 14th! FINALLY!!

Been grinding the Hell out of the Quadrant for to to convert over to Z. Got a little over 11K Zen so far (sorry if that sounds like a brag. Took a lot of work to get) and maybe reach 14K after I've converted over all of my CE Dil as well. But I'm not sure if I may splurge 120K Zen into this.

Because it sounds like you mean profit. Which the game needs to generate to remain viable.

I'm not one to defend greed, but I know that hiring Jeri Ryan or Robert Picardo is NOT cheap, so I don't blame them in trying to recoup their investment a little here and there.

    Lol Cryptic...

First off - 120 Euros? God, I can't stop laughing. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. I might pick this up if it ends up in the C-Store, like the Legacy Pack, but otherwise nope.

Second, these FED ships look ugly as hell. Only the Guardian may end up looking decent. Yet aside from the Romulan ships nothing in this offer looks tempting enough. Not even the KDF ships.

Third, lol power creep. Active Sensor Array, Fed cloak and Intelligence boffs? Please remind us, how are these balanced when compared to T5U again?

Converted to zen, that is 12500 zen. Minus the 550 zen for the costume pck, leaves 11950 zen. So each ship is just under 1500 zen.

Sounds like a good deal. By my math.

And i'm not even including the other stuff you get, so the ship price drops even more.

what I hate is: I have zen in my account, enough zen for my toons... why I can't use zen to buy it?

    *golf clap*

Is this really what the Star Trek "fans" at Cryptic studios have come up with? Have you no respect for the franchise? Do you at least take pride in your work? Sorry, I might be harsh here, but I'm just at a loss for words of the dissapointment I'm feeling about this. :(
Please tell me how in the world are those Federation ships? Since when did TRON and Mass Effect become a part of the Star Trek franchise? Those ships don't even have windows for heaven sakes. And cloaks.....ofcourse. Just the Starfleet thing to do. Can't have all the whiners man up, we better give out pacifiers!

I'm just.....don't know how to express it. Flabbergasted? Yeah, that's it, when looking at the Federation ships and then at the KDF ones, I'm flabbergasted. It's like completely different game studios created each respectively - one that employs hardcore Star Trek fans and another where no employee has ever watched even a commercial with Star Trek in it.
The KDF raptor looks great and very Klingon, plus it has a big nose cannon. The KDF battlecruiser is an obvious inspiration from old-scool design and seems to bring back the glorious grey hulls from TOS. You guys always do amazing KDF work......WTH is wrong with your Fed department?
I'm almost certain that if you made a game called "Eternal glory of the Klingon Empire Online" it would be a 1000 times better game than STO. I'm sorry to be blunt like this, but as much as you suck in creating Starfleet material you shine at making Klingon. Weird.

Neeles to say, I'm gonna repeat the demand for making faction-specific packs.
You just made me withdraw to KDF completely. After what I just saw and read I no longer have even ounce of will to play the abomination you refer to as "Federation" around here.

EDIT: Also very nice to see you caring about faction parity once again!

    Think of it this way:

They already have your money from the Zen purchases... now they want the rest.

I am dead serious btw... If they can, they want you to put every free coin you have on their table.

Thats how greedy business work... Alternatively, if you are willing to wait, it will likely become accessible in the C-Store eventually, like the LoR pack, but if they did that, LTS and other golds like me who have gotten Zen for free, and havn't used it, would not have to invest real money.

Basically: It's cryptics greed, and my fault.
