So compared to the LoR Legacy pack I dont see what this pack has got that makes it worth equal price. Fewer ships, no keys, no extra playable race (from start) and the Legacy psck was heavily oberpriced already.

I would advice to stay away from the pack.

Also what I dont get is why are some pics missing in the text but appear on the top?

Remember, ships go up in price as they go up in tier. T6 ships will be worth more.

Besides, what matters is how much you would save compared to if you bought all those things individually; not how it compares to other packs.

You neglect to ask me a "combo" so I change my mind and decide to want only one "ring" to rule them all.

I think the price great! If you look at the average price of a high level ship, of around 2k Zen then that's already $160, plus a costume unlock, another $5. 3 pack of Boff's would be $5 ~$7.50, 3 pack of DoFF's $2.50 and then finally the Upgrade Tokens which will be anywhere from $5 each to $10 each ... I think bought separately, it would be pushing $200, so $125 seems quite reasonable.

Well that only points to the fact that ships already are heavily overpriced. The simple fact is they worked at max half a your on this thing and you want to give them the equivalent of three completely new games worth of money just for what exactly? Some models of not even ip ships? You do know that every game is made up of hundrets and thousands of models right? I dont see those worth so much. The problem is their stupid unimaginative way of earning money. No mission packs no pay to enter areas nothing. So basically for everyone to have the same options as paying customers they heavily overprice ships in the hopes that we keep buying them instead of just going all in on missions and stuff of this kind.

So if you think you get your money worth with this new pack - think again! Only way to make this calculation add up for you is if you factor in a heavy "support the game" addition to the price.

I think all I would really want from that are the two Fed cruisers and the Very Rare Boff's and Doff's...the rest meh. So I probably won't get it. Guess I'll probably piece meal it.

Same. I'm only interested in one maybe two of the Fed ships. As for the rest of it, not so much.

I hope you are correct about the DOFFs, but I hope you are wrong about the ship upgrading tokens.

Their statement about the BOFFs is much more precise so I don't understand their ambiguous wording regarding the other features.

1.) I hope they mean that the tokens are claimed once by one toon, but are unbound or account bound. It'd be real stupid to have 3 stuck to one character (but this is Cryptic)

2.) I also read the Boffs as each toon gets the 3 of them.

3.) And like most people here, the KDF and RR ships look great and fit the faction. The Fed ships do look weird. Like the designer was thinking more of making Enterprise-J progenitor ships than anything in VOY/DS9/TNG. I also hope they have some mix-and-match parts. But Cryptic seems to not really care about doing that anymore.

4.) Cryptic needs to give the new Raptor a Battle Cloak since all the Feds have (I assume) standard cloaks. They can't say "...the most advanced tactical vessel in the KDF fleet." and then give it an old standard cloak.

    ok

    looking at the ships

The KDF and Rom ships look decent

the New Fed ships (besides the Guardian Cruiser) look VERY BAD

I get that your trying for a new design...but these don't even look close to any fed ships...atleast the Guardian Crusier LOOKS like a fed ship

you have to remember these ships are all based off of what Voyager experienced in the Delta Quadrant, not all represent fed ship except the Sci ship I have seen that saucer design some where else not sure if it was the Enterprise f contest or what but it looks familiar but again these are all designed for this area not saying they won't be good in the alpha quadrant but are more for the Delta quadrant.

The Fed ships look really awful. I won't be buying those things. The Feds have a very specific look, and STO is getting further and further away from it. Yes, I understand that the Fed ships are kinda boring to design because of the limitations but I don't want to play " misc space game" I want to play Star Trek.

I'm not sure about that. If it went into the direction the ship went to. Federation ships would have more Borg , Ablative, and Transphasic technology.

It would not look like a Section 31 or some sci-fi flick all put together! Specifically the Fed ship except the Guardian.

My only issue here is in the comparison to the Legacy pack. After the release of the Scimitar and Ar'kif, most of the ships were rendered obsolete and it wasnt too long after the Legacy pack came out.

Yeah, I'm sure Cryptic will do the same thing again. There will be a T6 Intrepid/Voyager bundle for $50-$60 Maybe an Intrepid along with a KDF and Rom ship? Mirroring the multi-faction Operations Pack?

Their logic on standard cloak is pretty obvious. Intelligence ships get a stealth upgrade, so Fed goes from nothing to standard cloak, KDF goes from standard to battle, Rom goes from battle to enhanced battle. The Raptor is a Raptor, not an Intel ship, so standard. Want battlecloak, buy the Intel ship.

    dat aelahl

I have a sinking feeling it's going to be Eng/Tac so my Sci Rom will still be shipless at T5+ but you're really tempting me to move out of my Daeinos, guys.

I might move my KDF Tac to the new Raptor and my KDF Eng into the Mogh the tac will be vacating, but at the same time I kinda don't wanna lose mt Kamarag. :\

Do we know if we'll be able to play as Intelligence division characters?

theres actually nothing here worth the collective value of 95 pounds, besides even passing on it, that pack will likely be in the z store after the launch anyways and in the meantime i can collect each bit with the ingame dilithium instead at 9500 zen. even when the 20% discount has passed and it goes upto say around 120 pounds or 12000 zen, it really wouldnt make too much difference.

btw the concept drawing of the guardian cruiser, ugly nacelle configuration.

as for the aelahl that looks suspicious close to whitestar design from b5.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Grab your pack now with our 20% off Pre-Launch Discount from now until October 14th! You can get your Operations Pack here.

    ~LaughingTrendy

Well I am confused here. In the link it says it is available to purchase on October 14. Which is it? Grab it now or do we wait for October 14. Either way I think we have a redacted hard date. Which was in some of the star date coding on some of the blogs. If I interpreted it correctly, if not it is just a coincidence.

I'm incredibly underwhelmed by the Federation designs. Perhaps it's the material on the ships, but they don't look very Star Trek to me. I could see purchasing the Guardian at some point, but I think I will pass on the others. At least we can upgrade our T5's somewhat...

The Romulan ships look great, and so does the KDF, even if the Q'ib seems a bit too edgy for my taste. Might have to see it in a different skin.

The Federation ships... the intel ones don't look that great. The E̶x̶c̶a̶l̶i̶b̶u̶r̶ Guardian, I'll have to get a look at the model before deciding if I want it or not. Seriously, the redone Intrepid out on Tribble looks loads better than these ships.
    W̶h̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶j̶u̶s̶t̶ ̶a̶ ̶w̶a̶y̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶p̶r̶e̶s̶s̶u̶r̶e̶ ̶u̶s̶ ̶m̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶b̶u̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶w̶e̶ ̶a̶l̶r̶e̶a̶d̶y̶ ̶w̶e̶r̶e̶ ̶g̶o̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶e̶t̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶f̶i̶r̶s̶t̶ ̶p̶l̶a̶c̶e̶.̶ I know it's a path to the ENT-J, but still...

Not a fan of the talaxians except for metreon cascade calibration, though a Neelix Box I would open just for the sheer novelty of sending them off to the mines or use for building up the starbase.

How much for just the KDF and Romulan bundle? Heck, substitute the T6 Fed ships for the Intrepid bundle and set the price at 100 as an alternative, and I'll grab it.

    Operations pack sold! :)

    Random thoughts:
So the Fed ships are Secton 31 ships then? :P As others have pointed out the Scryer is pretty much a straight up Perpetual design, but it's also one of the few Perpetual designs that I actually like. The Phantom looks slick and I bet it's lance console will still be more accurate than the Gal-X's lance (:P). The only one that doesn't wow me is the Eclipse. It's just me but no matter what angle I see it at I just can't find it pleasing to look at.

The Guardian looks like the Galaxy had a lovechild with Probert's Ambassador. If Cryptic lets us use the Galaxy and/or Ambassador skins on it I might just fall in love.

I wonder how the Fed Intelligence ships would look using with Andorian phasers?

The Klingon and Romulan designs are a home run. Awesome looking ships.

After the release of the Scimitar and Ar'kif, most of the ships were rendered obsolete and it wasnt too long after the Legacy pack came out. One could have done better buying the Starter pack, the cheapie valdore for that console, Scimi of one's choice and the Ar'kif and would not miss a beat. And would have saved money. This pack does seem to come with some good doffs for the new expansion though so maybe this one is more worth it. However, the Legacy pack was pretty much a waste of money.
+1.... Wish they'd offer a starter pack like LOR. That's the route I went and I love my tvaro, got myself a scimi on sale later on. They've been the only ships I've liked. Personally I have the cash for the delta pack, but I'm not interested in buying ships I don't want... Especially for traits. I'm sure traits have some effects for min/maxers and pvp, but since I play PvE, I don't ever really notice a difference. I regularly get 1st place in CE elite so I'm doing fine dps wise. I have zero interest in the fed ships... Would rather wait for the Dauntless. Really like the Klink and Rom ships. It'd be nice to have more options!

There are several good points presented here. I would also like a nice bundle to start off with this exciting new DLC. However I am not a rich man, and the economy is not exactly flush with disposable income.

The $125 USD price tag being the only option is too large a "lump sum" for my video games budget. I would have liked a variety of options like those that were offered with the Romulan pack.

I have 1 account, with 1 main and 9 "alts". If there was a pack with 1 of the ships I could choose (personal preference would be science vessel) one of the new BO, and a nice DOFF, I'd get that in a heartbeat.

[...]The ships alone are worth probably around $160[...]

The ships would usually cost more than $160, but are they worth it?

As someone else has mentioned: considering the amount of work that went into that pack, it just seems way, way too expensive. As someone else has mentioned: considering we're able to buy 2-3 brand-new, multi-million $$$ AAA titles with the same money, titles which also need to finance servers, support and content patches, paying $125 for a handful of ships is just ridiculous.
