Hi, I am hoping this is an ok place to post this. If not, I can move it elsewhere. But since the downtime today, my game play has been messing up. The graphics get SUPER bright and glitches up. The stars turn into streaks as I move the screen around. And it's only Star Trek that does this. I have a screenshot but can't post it. Anyone else having this problem?

Having trouble with your in-game graphics? Enabling the "Postprocessing" option in your 'video' options setting may help while we work on a permanent solution.
(Options menu > 'Video' tab > "Effects" section > Postprocessing > "On" radio button)

from the top of the forum.

Hopefully they'll take this time to fix the character textures too.

Had a feeling more graphical glitches would crop up.

OK, Going into video options and switching from DX9 to Auto seems to have worked.

    Issue still present

Windows 7, 32 bit op system
    AMD phenom II X 2 560 processor 3.30 GHz
    4 Gig Ram (3.25 usuable)
Nvidia GeForce GT 440 (drivers up to date as of Nov 18th 2013)

    Present all maps
Issue Spawns immidiately after loading map
Partial fix is to open a window ex: duty officer window/ no permanent fix for me
Issue Respawns immidiately after closing window or loading new map

Unable to do any combat at all or navigate any complex map.... basically only able to run through the colonize doff assignments... been like this all day.... very disappointed...

If you want to fix then go out and purchase a some of our graphics cards.... I keep seeing Nvidia over and over again

Thank goodness I am not the only one... I was afraid it was my computer!
There is a blurb at the top to help fix this but it is slightly clearer than mud, hope the next 'fix' fixes this.

Make sure DX9 is enabled and not DX11, turn on post processing.

This is only effecting certain players, which most seem to have similar card types.

I thought they were fixing crashes not a total graphics thing ? Didn't say much about graphics but for some certain episodes and missions, I just hope they don't mess something else up fixing this problem and It turns into domino effect.

I just did fix but graphics were way reduced and it looks worse so I thought I'd add this to the fix information above : It should also say Fix reduces Graphics for All who use POST PROCESSING lol !

Maybe it's an outgrowth of our issue of crashing due to graphic's cards?

My guess is it was introduced when they went live with support for mac, breaking existing windows graphics modes, as I learned that Mac display values are much dimmer and therefore need brighter settings, but windows translates these changes into overbrightness, blinding out some images altogether.

Turning this off fixed the issue for me. Hope that helps someone...

Given that I can recall some client versions where the 'login' screen tried to melt my gpu when I disabled that particular option I am very reluctant to disable frame rate limiting.

I see what is wrong there, it is pretty obvious...

you have WAY too many chat tabs configured for the game engine to handle.

    XD

I like it that way. It is far more comfortable for me to just switch to the tab I want to talk in.

    Same problem here.

    Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit
Intel Pentium CPU B960 @2.20 GHz

Occurs on all maps, ground and space.

    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
    Processor: Intel Core i5 M430 @ 2.27 GHz
    RAM: 4GB
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100 Series
    Graphics card driver version: 8.970.100.7000

Map: Deferi Ship (Cold Comfort - Breen mission)

It seems to occur 100% of the time when the interaction dialog opens up and you look around or something moves:
    Example 1
    Example 2
    Example 3
    Example 4

Also happens when there's something else happening on the screen, note the "loading bar" below the character's TRIBBLE:
    Link

Does not happen when there's nothing special happening on the screen.

    Intel i7 860 , 4GB ram , Win 7 64-bit, Nvidia GTX560ti

The glitch occured in DS9, sector space maps and alot of other places.
I think it was absent from the new ground battlezone but not sure.

It always happened on the transporter pad and in the turbolift on the fed fleet SB.
It always went away if I opened inventory or any other UI window and it didn't happen again if I left a UI window open (didn't test that much but it did stop the glich in the transporter/turbolift).

Also turning on postprocesing helped I think that resolved the issue for me.

Captains, I am going to ask that you have a bit more patience. :) We can definitely see that you are having an issue due to your screenshots, but we did not see this issue internally during our tests as not every kind of graphics card/ driver/ etc. is affected. While we test on a wide-range of cards, none of the ones we test on are resulting in the issues you are seeing.

We're gathering your reports from this thread, and including your computer/system and graphics specs in your reports will greatly help us work to reproduce the issue, and then work on a resolution.

    Hello

Never had any graphical issues before.
While away for work I'm running STO on a Dell Latitute E6520
    Intel i5 2.5 GHz, 4 GB RAM
    Win 7 64b
With Intel HD Graphics 3000, ver 8.15.10.2418
(yeah this might need an update but I still didn't had any issues whatsoever before last patch)

    So for your questions
The map(s) you were on: all of sector space. Did STOs with minor glitches. All ground maps were affected (Spacedock, Academy, DS9, etc)
Reproduction steps: Like Tribbles. One minute everything's fine and the next you're deep in hell
How you made it occur: I didn't do it !!
How you made it stop occurring: random, it didn't stop
And how you made it occur again: Told you I didn't do it !!

    Thanks
Hope this one get resolved soon...
    Cheers

I followed what it says at the top of this page. Go to Options>Video>Effects>Postprocessing and turn this on. This actually seems to have worked for me.

    Windows7 64b
    8gb ram
    Integrated Intel HD Graphics Card
    1tb HD

I was having the stacking issue where everything seemed to just multiply and then become unmovable. After doing the above, it now works correctly.

Intel i5, HD3000 4GB, running Windows 7, same issue. I get tears travelling in sector space, and on K7.
I'm running intel driver version 9.17.10.2932.

Turning on postprocessing seems to have helped.

    Running a Mac Pro, 2 quad-cores @2.8GHz, 16GB RAM in Bootcamp. I have an Nvidia 8800GT.

How do I reproduce the glitch? I play the game. On what maps? All of them. How do I make it go away? It goes away by itself for a few minutes before coming back to haunt me again. How soon do I want it fixed? Yesterday.

    OS: WIN XP SP3

    CPU: Intel Core 2 4300 @ 1.8 GHz /RAM 2 GB

    Graphic: NVidia GT 440 / Driver Version: 6.14.13.3165 (23rd Oct 2013)

Every map (ground & space) / every sector

    Looks like

It happens in flight, by moving the camera or the ship/charakter

Unfortunately the suggestion (workaround postprocessing) is not working. Also tried to reduce all videosettings incl restart of the game. No positive result(s).

Quick fix would be highly appreciated!!!

    Intel HD Graphics family

Same graphics card I use for my ASUS X401A1 laptop. Never had any issue playing STO until the recent patch. While the small fix in the yellow text above does work, can't they just revert the changes back to the original settings until they find a permanent fix?
