Hull is 5200, do the math, the turnrate IS 3. Thats the way Cryptic has always calculated turnrate, based on hull (well except for the Breen or Bugship)
I can see it now, every STF, zillions of them damn things, and everyone of them mounting cannons. *smacks forehead*
but if you use all 3 of the consoles it will have a turn rate of 5 (the usual gimmick to sell a 3 pack)
DIAF Cryptic, you have ruined my childhood.
???? How would the hull be 5200? It should be more like 50,000

5200? So that means the Scimitar might as well be a paper mache ship..
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
Well my hopes were dashed about the Scimitar not being completely op if those stats are real...I mean 52k hull and 5/3 weapon loadout...if you're a Romulan why fly anything else?
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
wonder when annoucment will be, because later in june is well.. 1 day left of workdays
The Official Word was given by Bran yesterday that there won't be an Official Announcement as in a Dev Blog, regarding the Scimitar class until next week.
So since we have received official word before the end of June, your point is negated.
the new dilith mining armor / rcs consoles (+the fact that the slower the ship the better the bonus from them - and the 3 scim consoles have a 2 set bonus that sounds like increases turn speed
im not worried about pointing that thalaron cone - so bloody dying to get my hands on this ship

I can tell you that throwing four RCS consoles (mk X and XI blues) onto a Haakona doesn't exactly make it spry, and the Haakona has a base turn of 5. With only space for two of those consoles, you'll be lucky to hit a turn rate of 10 on the Tac variant. Maybe 15 on the Engi version if you throw five consoles in there.
This is assuming, of course, that a base turn rate of 3 is what we end up getting.
I'm sure with the 2 piece bonus and a tachyokinetic console it might even turn well enough
for dual cannons.
The turn rate in the vid was better than my D'D with it's set bonus + a tachyo. (turn of 12.8 moving with about 50 power in engines and no other buffs)
I disagree. Anybody willing to play the key game for ships will buy this anyway. If they are waiting it is to build hype and anticipation as I'm sure the most money is made on or near release of the item
You misunderstand.
My point was that knowing how popular these ships are likely to be amongst the rommies it would make sense to time or even delay their release until after everything else stops selling.
Think about it. If lor had released with scimitars in the c-store do you think they'd have sold as many master keys? We only recently had confirmation that the scimitar would be playable but surely they'd have known that for a very long time now.
Why sit on that info? So people don't keep their wallets shut waiting for the ship they really want and buy the stuff they knew would be less popular.

Because, obviously the Scimitar is on the test realm.....which means it being tested...which means they are working on the ship still.

Kind of annoying that the Gateway still displays 3 turnrate for every ship (along with 10K hull and four device slots), and doesn't bother showing the hangars.
I heard someone say in another thread that the Tac variant (Scimitar) had a turnrate of 9, is this confirmed anywhere?
Its been confirmed from the UGC podcast it has 2 hangars 5 fore 3 aft all carrier pets now use a veteran system so the longer they stay alive the more powerful they become. Improved pet control and UI. 3 console set give thalron weapon ship is massive compared to other ships. 3 variants tac, eng, sci
Any extra info in that podcast in regards to the Scimitar? I'm not going to listen to them talk about the Foundry for 2 hours to get a few nuggets of info on the Scimitar...

Second, we knew the Scimitar would be coming before LoR was release because they said it would coming later on and not at launch, the only reason to exclude it would be because of the Legacy Pack.
I don't believe that's true. The wiki was only updated about a week ago to say the scimitar was coming. And prior to that everyone was asking in the forums "if" there'd be playable scimitars.
If your argument is "Romulan players rushed out to buy keys for Adapted Warbirds" you are very much wrong, most players had as good or better ships tailored for Romulans and better, they made Romulan ships have console sets outside a 3pack/lock box ... after all, what your Adapted Destroyer can do that a Fleet ship cannot do?
For starters, unlike you I made no claim about what Romulan players did or did not do. Only what might be a sensible business strategy to maximise sales.
Though in one of the dev blogs they made a point about how Romulan ships were more science oriented. But at release 90% of the Romulan ships were escorts, there were a few cruisers and one science ship.
Oh but wait, but look, there's the Tal'Shiar ships. One of those is science oriented. Start buying master keys...
They don't work on and release info about ships months in advance, for example the Corvette, did they give us the stats in May? No they didn't...they gave us the stats days before launch!
Did they give us the stats on the Tal Shiar ships while the Dominion lockboxes were going strong? No.
The fact of the matter if they don't release stats months in advance...and they said next week...if they don't live up to that its a different story...but right now going by their word its next week. Which means the Scimitar is going to be released in July if they keep to their word...

Turn rate 3??? And I thought the Atrox was slow... That has to be a mistake , unless they're trying to force everyone into buying the complete pack to make it even remotely playable for the maneuvering thrusters console bonus. Which would be a real cheap shot at their customers or more accurately an overpriced stab. Without the console bonus you'd have to cloak every time just to turn not to mention you'd be bouncing off every space object along the way....by the time you finished turning you'd be on the other side of the map.:P

All ships show as having 10k hull and turn rate 3 when viewed through the gateway, so it doesn't necessarily mean its actual turn rate is 3.

Turn Rate is partly determined by current speed. If you look at the turn rate for any ship while stopped it will show a very low number. Since its not moving in Gateway, or when you even look at your ships stats while you are not on it, it will show a low number.
As I type this I am on the planet Risa, and my Mogai shows a turn rate of 3. We all know that isn't its actual rate.

I'd rather die in glorious battle tbh...:D
I guess I am stuck with my T'Varo bomber, because I am not flying a ship with 3 turn rate.
judging by the tirbble video it might be slightly higher *looks up into the heavens*
I'm guessing the pic is from the tact version, the engi version Might have a 4/3/3 console set up sci 4/4/2 setup
Its next week brandon said on tribble.

Pretty sure they have 2 hangars..

We have known the Scimitar would be a playable C-Store ship since before LOR even launched, so your are totally wrong about this.
Dan confirmed it in online chat the day LOR Beta came out, and Al confirmed it in an interview that same week.
Isn't the number 9 now floating around as rumor?
