but yea, now the dread has been a little lack-luster without the JHAS-H pets.

Just ran into an STF full of Jemmy dreads, me included, we all were in dreads all 5 of us, not one of the five liked the Jemmy escort pet being locked away, there was one person in the group who thought it was a cheap form of "bonus" not even remotely on the "bonus" spectrum and he had the hangar pets.

I just don't see how needing to own the Drednought Carrier and also have to buy the Hanger Bugs can be seen has a perk or bonus to Attack Ship owners.

I teamed with quite a few players that used the Dread and did have the Hanger Bugs and when asked many did not think that the Hanger Bugs were worth the investment but used them because they could hold argo.

I'm not sure why it's a big deal, elite scorpions are better.

34 pages of "wahhhhh I want a thing! I want it now, for free! Even though it's worse than an easily obtainable thing?" No, I didn't see a reason to read through the whole thread.

Scorps aren't dominion ships. This entire thread is just about access to the best dominion pets for the dreadnaught. If there were no JHAS hangar EVERYONE would be saying elite scorps, call it a day. But because the JHAS hangar exists it's now all like, oh I WANT that it's not fair I can't have it etc. If anyone is under the impression that because the JHAS hangar has that long list of abilities that it's some kind of be all end all pet, they will be in for a rude awakening if they ever get their hands on it.

It's been interesting to say the least but I've about abandoned the dreadnaught already. It's fun for alittle while but I still find myself in my JHAS more often than not, mostly because this is STO, and a ship that should walk circles around little escorts for fire power is not much more than a short fun break from the STO norm. Kind of sad, really. Ah well, maybe the next ST MMO will get it right. Damn sure too late for this one to do things right.

So I say go ahead and give them their JHAS hangar pets. I want to see the tears run down their face when they realize they wasted their 30k dilithium, and start their next long, month long thread about buffing the pets they paid 30k dilithium for.

It's not; that's just what trolls say to troll you, and fanboys say to brown nose Cryptic. The bonus for owning a JHAS is being able to actually fly the thing (even if it was eclipsed with the new Kumari).

What they should have done was offer the JHAS-H pets in the c-store, available only to owners of a jem'hadar carrier.

What they should do, and relatively soon, is make the above suggestion so.
I want it now, for free!
I'm not sure how they would charge for the right to buy JHAS-H pets from a vendor, for dilithium.

All those people that have JHAS but no dread an cannot use the pets either, no fair

eh....while i almost sympathise, those with the JHAS have a better, rarer, far more expensive, and extraordinary ship to begin with, not to mention, one which is fleeting in the exchange so it is very scarce, the dreadnought can be bought with zen ("via proxy of lockboxkeys") quite easily it just costs 70 to 80$

but we in the dread, the only ship capable of launching these things are locked away from it unless we own one of the rarest, most saught after ships in the game. its like buying a Ferrari and getting polyester seats with plastic trims and all emblems removed until we buy a Phantom Corsair.

Exactly and when u are Lucky enough of obtaining a jhas THEN u are able to use the jhas pets. It is bound to that.

Because something is most saught after does not mean if u do not own it and want it u should be able to get it on another way other people got it.

U can use the dread just fine with out JHAS. Make it a mission to obtain a JHAS like other people did. Exchange hunting or just wait till it gets back in the game again like last time.

Don't do it by crying about it and trying to make the game less unique. There isn't much unique left in the game. That's just lame. Sorry to say it like that but it is what is being done.

yea but when you say it like that it sparks people to get more proactive against you.

    speaking of which.

I'd be fine if it could be used on any other carrier but only obtainable if you have the JHAS itself THAT makes sense, the thing is they want us to believe it is a bonus for owning the JHAS...it's not, it would be a bonus if you didnt need to use it on the dread! fine but since it is locked away for those with both the Dreadnought and JHAS it is quite unnerving.

btw, the next time they release the JHAS it will be in a far more expensive box, and its chances would have been cut in half in order to preserve the JHAS rarity, 3 times released is way too many for it to be rare without adjustment.

not to mention even if it is released, its price on the exchange would not drop below 300mil.

those making an effort to get the JHAS are doing so for the sake of owning it, I do want the JHAS though not for the hangar pets, the JHAS alone is an extraordinary ship and I would be honored to obtain it.

No one here is crying about anything.

The fact that most of us are trying to put foward is that this type of gating is wrong.

This move by Cryptic was to just test the waters to see if the players would accept this type of item gating.

Once again this really only effects Carrier users becasue it's the only logical ship class that Cryptic could even come close to getting away with this junk with.

The Hanger Attack Ships are Junk and at this point the only real benefit to having them is that they are bigger targets that might take a few more hits for you; however, the fact remains that they can only be used with the Dreadnought Carrier and they should have been given to the Dread owners from the start.

Does anyone else also find it strange that there are no other hanger options for the Recluse? I think the reason is that Cryptic has not found a way to gate them yet.

This move is wrong and it will negatively effect Carrier users going foward has long has Cryptic feels that they can potentially milk more profit out of us by gating our Carriers Hanger support options.

This is like buying a $40,000 2013 Touareg and then being told by the dealer that if you want to add the Turbo kit that can only be used with the Touareg you own that you must also buy the limited eddition 1999 Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion

think of it like this : The just released kumari class, with its 5 tactical slots, can only use 3 tac slots unless u buy a 300+ million item to unlock it.

    Wouldn't that make you rage??

I know, that after spending my time/effort/money into this game, to then fet gucked like that...... which is why i am no longer pursueing the option of a lifetime sub. this foolishness cost them 300 dollar....

    No.

It's not like making the JHAS-H pets available for purchase to owners of the carrier would have any bearing on people who actually have the JHAS.

If you have the JHAS, you can fly it.

If you have the carrier, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to spend more resources (cash or dilithium) to buy some more interesting hangar pets.

Seriously, devs. Give us the damned Attack Ship Hangar. This is ridiculous. You guys KNEW this was a stupid idea when you did it.

I guarantee that someone at that meeting said, "But that's going to TRIBBLE them off. Especially if we don't tell them and just let them figure it out the hard way. We're seriously just going to be dicks to our paying players?"

To which, the guy at the head of the table undoubtedly replied, "Yes, Jeff. We're going to TRIBBLE over the players that keep us in business. Again. And we're going to do it, again and again and again, until we have driven this ugly beast we've created into the ground. And we'll keep going. We will continue to tick off our paying customer base until their heads explode from sheer incredulity at our brazen disregard for basic business practices."

"Jesus, Frank... did you take your meds?"

"NO, JULIE! I DID NOT TAKE MY MEDS! HOW ABOUT YOU JUST SHUT THE HELL UP AND DO YOUR JOB. THESE ROCKETS AREN'T GOING TO FUEL THEMSELVES, NOW ARE THEY?!?!"

That's how I imagine PWE dev meetings go down.

I just got the Dreadnought, and I honestly thought this was a bug that I couldn't buy the JHAS pets until I came across this thread.

I get that they said before how to unlock it but at the same time I didn't read that update till now my bad. Now though how am I supposed to get the Attack ship? I don't even want it I just want the hanger pets. this just makes me feel uneasy about spending more money into this game... I really like this game and I don't have a problem with dumping money into it but this just rubs me the wrong way...

I spent so much money getting the Dreadnought, and I may never be able to get a JHAS because they are so rare no matter how much EC I have to spend at the auction.

Just went through the thread and didn't find a SINGLE mod/dev reply...

    I have to ask.

    DEVS:

I know you understood this was going to TRIBBLE people off before it was implemented. So why do it? I'm not talking about pissing off just a few people, but everyone that spent the money to get the Dread but didn't already own the JHAS.

Do you people understand that, even though we don't know you personally, some of us actually hate you personally? Not a burning, seething, deep-rooted hatred, mind you. More of a, 'if I saw you bleeding out on the sidewalk, I'd hesitate a few seconds in trying to save your life' hate. But only because I'd momentarily wonder whether it would be a betterment of humankind to ignore the issue, then have my morals (which you don't seem to have) kick in and I'd patch your malicious TRIBBLE up.

There are some that actually HATE you because of the manipulative and deceptive business practices you employ. I mean they HAAAAAAAATE-hate you and would likely become violent if the words 'Star Trek Online' and 'dev' were uttered in the same sentence in their presence.

Is it ok that you guys have some few people that actually despise your existence? Because of a VIDEO GAME?

I'd probably drink myself to sleep every night if I knew that more than a handful of people loathed every fiber of my being. Especially without ever having met me.

    Just saying, devs.

Something needs to be done about this.

i bought a dreadnaught i thought yay attack bugg hangar pets here we go.

but to my shocking senses i saw u needed to pay 450 million ec roughly 2 years of ec farming to get it.

i was like ERRRRR cryptic insane?

IF you buy a bloody dreadnaught carrier you should be able to buy the Attack bugg hangar pets for dilithium WITHOUT OWNING THE ****TY ATTACK BUGG SHIP.

ffs get ur head out of the sand cryptic and fix this.

GATHER THE WEAPONS GATHER THE FLAMES.

get ready to torch things to get this through..

this is the dilithium removal incident all over again.

cryptic should have a requirement to have a 3 hour emotion session every day before they go to work so they maybe dont attempt to ruin the mood and make people angry every single day.
If only they fix Cloaking bugg :( *new message BOOM decloacked.

If you own Bug: attack ship pets for dreadnaught are unlocked and ready for sale.

If you do not own Bug: spend 250 zen to unlock ability to buy attack ship pets.

    Is this not reasonable?

Cryptic will find it reasonable for 2000 zen. Not for the unlock, but for each hangar pet as a one-time bound-to-character item.

Its kind of a good thing, since people use them because they look cool, but they are really the worst hangar pet, on the Fed side at least.

If it takes 6-12 months to open them up to everybody, then what, another 6-12 months to make them worth using.

At this point their existence is of no concern. Ill give you mine.

I honestly don't see why everyone is so upset. It is your own fault for not reading before making the purchase. It was stated in the blog before the Dominion Lock Box went live.

"Not everyone comes to the website, so how do they expect everyone to know?"

    Fair enough.....how about this.

In Game Screenshot of the Dreadnought Description

Notice the last two lines of the last paragraph. It is right there in black and white. All it takes is to right click on the item and read.

It was stated. I knew I wouldn't be able to use the bug pets when I got the dreadnaught. That doesn't make it any less of a dumb thing to pull on players.

The literal equivalent would be if the Orb Weaver said, "cannot use tetryon weapons or quantum torpedoes unless the character also owns a Recluse carrier". Or if the Vesta couldn't uses any dual cannons except the ones it came with unless you also owned a MVAE. Sure you can use the ships without those options, but how the heck is this restriction at all sensible?

People flying Bugs don't care about the hangar pet since they can't mount it, and people flying the Dreadnaught probably don't care about flying a Bug because the ships are completely different in play style and character builds.

That is the basis of customer dissatisfaction.
