If you wanted to make the Jem Hadar Attack Ship pets effective:
1) Increase their turn rate and speed to equal that of the actual flyable version - That way they can keep up with players and bring their weapons to bear alot better.
2) Remove the Cannons and give them multiple beam arrays - Frigate pets should be engaging at longer ranges to take advantage of the fact they are not as nimble as the fighters. Additonally, the NPC pets do not use their cannons effectively because they dont use their fire arcs properly.
If you give them a bunch of beam arrays they can engage at longer ranges at a wider arc.
Personnally, I would expand the hanger selection into fighters and frigates for both sides.
Fighters would have larger numbers and use the cannons at short range while the frigates used longer ranged weapons but are generally less nimble.

good suggestions. also make the unlock for the jem frigate account wide! that way u can get the JHAS on your tac who doesnt have the dread ship
EDIT : still no community response!!!!!!!!!! ANGRY CUSTOMERS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Day 24, still no Jem'Hadar Attack ship Hangar pet access for all with the dreadnought.
It's like no one at Cryptic believes this is an issue worth responding to or they can't come up with a spin that would even come close to being pheasable.
This is a huge issue for me and the sole reason that I've yet to unpack my Dreadnought Carrier.
I've tried reaching out to podcasts on this issue and they more or less wrote it off has Cryptic just being Cryptic and I get that responce Cryptic does a lot of messed up things in the name of fleecing its player base; however, I think that this move is just pusing it beyond the realm of sensibility.
This gating of ship options that can only be used with the ship that we already own (not including consoles) by tying them to the need to own other ships is just Bad Business and it must be stopped here before it becomes the norm.
Cryptic can ignore this issue all they want but I can tell you that it won't just go away because I won't let it.
IMO this move shows nothing more than a companies greed and willingness to try anything no matter how unreasonable it might be in the name of boosting potential sales.
Quite the Business model actually:
Hey guys instead of creating something new to offer our customers lets instead take an existing item that we've already had great success with and somehow boost demand for it that way we can capture more sales on the item without having to put any real effort behind it.
I wonder what item it was and how they chose to manipulate its demand
The fact that an 800 lobi ship doesn't have a "frigate" pet option when the other two KDF carriers do makes zero sense. IMHO all carriers should have some kind of frigate option.

I'd say for feds, Mirandas and then the sabers.
but only when the federation gets a Starfleet carrier.
I'd love to have an Aquarius frigate =D.
I mean since we are unlocking hanger ships by obtaining other ships then why not unlock the Aquarius with ownership of the Odyssey tactical .
I'd kill for an Aquarius that had the Bop hangers abilities (except cloak ).

the aquarius pet we have now, already has quad phasers and point defense consoles. so I don't think it would be a great hangar pet unless it only had just those and quantum torps, anything else and it would most certainly be a bit op.
The simplest option would be to make the Jem Hadar Attack ship - The actual player escort a Lobi ship. At least then your make it a viable option if people want to go nuts spending 100 - 200 on lockboxes to get the lobi to buy them.
Oh no, instead Cryptic might decide to come out with a Jem Hadar Battleship or something else Dominion War related.
No doubt this will continue the trend by having another console and have special abilities if you have all all three previous ships.
I find it rather amusing that Cryptic have basically jumped on the Dominion as a means to introduce a hilarious selection of powerful ships.
I suppose this will just be the initial build up to when the start offering Borg Lockboxes which eventually end in players getting a cube that requires you to own every lockbox ship they ever made.
The pet AI in this game largely sucks for both space and ground. Everyone knows this but the Jem Hadar Attack Ship pets highlight just how stupid Cryptic really are at understanding their own game.

well actually that might work, make it every lockbox and every lobi ship per chance at cube then you got yourself a deal! it is the only way to make it work in terms of balance...and if anything I'd say it would be a Borg Diamond.

A lesser Evil that would have still made Cryptic some more money would have been just to offer the Hanger Bugs in the Lobi store for all at something like 300 Lobi per unit.
I would have still had a problem with the above option but would have bought them without fail
I see that as a good thing, he has quoted on a huge number of threads lately.
If we shout loud enough he may come over to see what all the fuss is about.
I hope you were not holding your breath :P
This whole gimping of the Dreadnoughts Hanger options options just bothers me to no end
Add to this the fact that we know that this topic has been seen by any Dev that visits this section of the Forum and not one of them has chimmed in on this issue one way or the other just makes it even more upseting.
We instead get EPs asking us to do the Ickey Shuffle
I want what was clearly made for the Dreadnought Carrier to be open to all that own the Dreadnought Carrier without us having to be rich or extremely lucky to get it.
What's next? Single Character ship unlocks and a limit on the amount of ships we can have on hand

If I owned the Bug I'd be speced to fly it and I would not be wasting my Re-Specs to test out a Carrier.
This whole perk thing for Bug owners sounds like a load of Targ dung.
30 pages makes this a threadnaught right? And as well all know the galaxy x is underpowered as all hell. The jemmy dread is underpowered as all hell (i have both). So they will avoid anything with naught in the name. Shame shame.

Mind explaining in what way the JHDC is underpowered?
Mind explaining in what way the JHDC is underpowered?
Amoungst the current ship selection it isnt underpowered but for the class of ship it is meant to be it is.
Dreadnaughts are supposed to be the largest ships with the biggest guns and the Jem Hadar Dreadnaught was one of the few shown on screen.
If Cryptic had been anything but money pinching idiots they would have saved introduction of Dreadnaughts as a whole new ship category designed around getting the biggest bang at the expense of manuverability.
When you get to the Dreadnaught stage, your looking at a ship like the Scimitar which effectively kicked the E-E's teeth in without breaking a sweat. Ideally, Dreadnaughts could easily be the grounds to get a Tier 6 situation which emulates EVE Online's Tier 3 modular ship design.
At Tier 6 we are supposed to be Full Admirals and like Riker did with the Galaxy-X would allow refits of previous ships into Dreadnaughts that are custom built with stats the player chooses.
It's been said (and I have it on good authority) that we'll get another crack at winning the Bug soon, and that'll at least lower the price on the Exchange.
Not as good as getting rid of the requirement entirely, but something.

This is like a 6 year old moving one item to a shelf, after being told to clean their room. Technically progress, but not in the spirit of the request nor relevant in magnitude.

I know some might be very happy to hear that they'll get another shot at lucking into the Bug ship and that's great if you want the Bug ship because you want to fly it.
It's not all that great if you need the Bug ship becasue you want to fly a Carrier and unlock options for that carrier that should have been yours from the start.
I don't want to fly the Bug ship, I want to fly my Dreadnought Carrier knowing that I can use everything that can only be used with it without it being tethered to some fleece em scheme.
I'm beginning to think that Cryptic has strategic planners with the last names Dewey, Cheatham and Howe working for them :P

yea no, don't do that, it just coppies the klingons and they will get real pissy about that.
something unique is called for.
i still say revamp most of the carrier systems so another thread will be made for that.
It's the ignore it and it will go away approach, my 10 year old uses it all the time

we should start posting the link to this thread under each DEV response or community response...
